Hello from 2022, EA has game changers build the pack houses now and they're sooooo much better 😁 Kayla even did some. The builds are now probably the best parts of the new packs. Now if we could just convince them to release packs that actually work and aren't completely broken on release, we might actually have the game we all deserve 😁
I spent hours on a build recently putting those damn wall sconces everywhere before I realized their blue fire. I still havent been able to bring myself to go back to remove them all.
This house looks like a fan/player made it and used all the new items in the new expansion pack because they wanted to try it out and they're not really THAT good at building, but they still tried- *oh wait*
I remember back in Sims 3 when a new neighborhood came out, the first I did was go and look into all the builds because they were actually good and interesting. However in the Sims 4 my expectations are so low I don't even bother.
You should do a challenge where you redo builds with the same parameters as devs (no debug/no moveobjects/only the base game+relevant pack, and similar number of objects) to prove good builds are possible! Because this quality is unacceptable for things people are buying
If the actual buildings were beautiful, and the furniture was sparse, I don't think it would be an issue at all. I think it makes sense for EA builds to be furnished similarly to a home when the owners are showing it to sell - you keep the basics to show how the space is used (a bed and dresser in the bedroom, obviously the kitchen and bathroom have all the necessities), but you want it plain and with no clutter, so the new owners can imagine their own items filling it. Instead, EA makes builds with bathrooms with no toilets.
About the weirdly placed windows on large walls or the toilet paper up so high: I truly think they put that stuff down first and then changed the wall heights and never checked afterwards. You'd think the windows would catch someone's eye, but after the missing back door on the other build I'm not surprised. I think they added the foundation and stairs, the door ended up being deleted in that build and they didn't realise. Here the toilet paper looks as if they maybe had the toilet against the other wall first, later changed it and forgot about the toilet paper. But the bed, sorry but that is ridiculous, a bed with that bed board not being turned 90° is just ridiculous. I really hope they take in your feedback and invest a bit of time in quality control (especially with so few buildings), because they know you do these videos after all.
@@ms.honiqualisha4529 Short wall heights, smaller builds, and placement of objects to take up more space wouldn't do that. She could build something as sparse as EA and it'd look nice. Also, save up for a better PC. o_O

12:33 to be fair, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Massachusetts does sort of look like that from the outside (ie the top floor exhibition space overhanging the first floor). There is a reason for that though. First off, the ICA in Boston is right next to the harbor. So having the exhibition space on the second floor is good insurance in case of flooding. Second, having the exhibition space higher up also gives visitors an amazing uninterrupted view of Boston Harbor, and they even have a breezeway with benches for visitors to sit. They don’t have a glass roof though, allowing in that much sunlight has the potential to damage the art on display
Not to mention, the glass roof would probably make it hotter in summer... and increase the heat loss in winter. The opposite of what you'd want and the fluctuations wouldn't be good for the art either. XD
@@argella1300 Yeah, also I forgot but Boston gets a lot of snow, right? It'd probably be a little too much weight for glass. Luckily, this world seems to be more like California but even so, having the entire thing be glass is very unrealistic and would still create the problems we've mentioned. I guess you can write it off as "it's not IRL" but still.
J. Stanley it’s funny you mention that, because we had solar panels on our roof outside Boston, and one sunny day after it had snowed a moderate amount (like 6-8 inches) we heard this loud crack and boom. We ran outside to check, and our entire front stoop, walkway, and path to our mail slot was *covered* in a snowdrift at least 3 feet high. The sun had heated up the solar panels, which caused the snow to melt slightly where it was in contact with the glass of the solar panels, which made all the snow slide off the roof in one go 🤣
i love the 30's vibe of your version of this building tbh, it does have an "single woman who divorced 3 times and now lives in her reclusive rumored to be haunted home" vibe but i legitmatly like what you did here
I had literally never opened this house until today. I couldn't even find the bedrooms. I was so concerned for Darrel Charm who is my favorite Townie. I had to come see if you'd ever fixed. Happy to see you did it years ago.
I have the reason for the toilet paper: when you are a TrUe MaNN, you pee standing (front to the toilet preferably) and you are just the right height to grap the paper. So this is a man that put the tp here. clap clap me.
The bed against the wall kinda makes me think they outsource building to a poorer country, cause that is exactly how someone used to very small rooms would place a twin bed
I love this house dude. Its such a trip- I love the curvy mushroom roof and all of that old fashioned witchy glamour of the entrance. And that TOWER!! Yes.
I will say, my parents house, for whatever reason, the toilet paper roll is at shoulder height when standing, and above your head when sitting, but at least it's to the side and not directly above you. And I THINK it was because there was like... paneling or something on the wall that they couldn't attach it too?
Kayla I LOVE your reno!!! It's so unique and quirky! It would also work for a weird old money type of family in e.g. Windenburg! It isn't my style of house either, but it's so cool nevertheless and I really like the top floor.
I love that your version is architecturally more like Art Nouveau, which is the entire aesthetic of the furniture and build items. Wouldn't it be nice if they took inspiration from the art movement for their builds? But no...I swear their builds feel sarcastic, like they're laughing at us for spending so much money.
First off, your build looks WAY better than what was there before! Secondly, your shirt is awesome. The color scheme is something you'd see in the 70s/80s.
I honestly don’t think the original house was that bad. Was it beautiful? No. But was it horrible enough to warrant a scream when you first saw it? Also no (in my opinion). This just didn’t seem that different from the base game EA houses to me. And, continuing to mildly disagree with Kayla, I absolutely LOVE the way her build looks, both inside and out! It definitely has a fantasy vibe, which is totally appropriate for this pack/world, and I think she pulled it off really well.
I am obsessed with this so much like I wish they put this much effort into the houses, because it just adds that much more fun into the gameplay and if you can do it with just base game and Realm of Magic, they can too.
Regarding making builds smaller with less empty space, for some computers that is also a performance issue. I love the way that build looks, but I know that if I tried to play in it my sims would have trouble routing and get stuck between the walls and the furniture. The simple changes you made in wall height should be doable for EA but some of the empty space within rooms probably is necessary. I hope this doesn't seem too harsh, I love your builds and I don't think you're unreasonably critical of EA.
@@e.c.4600 Yeah I can, and sometimes I do to unstick them. But usually I would rather have them walk, and not have to shift-click all the time. So when I build or adapt houses I do in a way so my sims will get stuck less often.
That room with just a bed is where they keep Harry. Yeah I know he lived in a cupboard under the stairs, but EA just loves to make big rooms, like they're 12 or something.
Her: You can't get worse than this EA: STAR WARS BUILDS Me: Ohhhhhh GOOODNESSSS this is gonna be funny. The trailers have already proven that the stuff in the pack is gonna be harder to use than realm of magic. Why does this feel like EA said 'hold my martini glass of simmer's tears and watch this'
I started playing this family last night and absolutely HATED the house. I came on your channel hoping you redid it and wow you exceeded my expectation! Can't wait to download and use your house tonight!
I remember watching Mollies stream and then raiding your stream, you looked so sad we thought something really bad happened. But as always you did an amazing job renovating the build and now it's actually looks like a build you would expect from a magic pack.
I want Kayla to contact the sims and get the limitations they have for builds, and build something following those limitations because that would really show that they don’t have any excuses for their horrible builds😅
For a second, that room with a single bed highly offend me. Now that i think about it i realized maybe sims guru purposely put the bed there just to mark the room as the bedroom. If you don't know what i'm talking about, if you download a house from the internetsometime it will say "patially furnished" meaning the creator didn't furnished all the room in the build and they usually put related item to assign which room is which.
There’s actually a pub I go to and the toilet paper is literally in that exact position. Right behind your head?? Let me tell you, it’s not the easiest thing to manoeuvre after a few drinks. 😥
Thank you so much for spending all of the time that you did to fix Glimmerbrook and The Magic Realm. I also really appreciate that you chose to use only RoM and base game for these, because everyone else on the gallery is posting things from a ton of packs that I don't have yet. If you didn't do this with only RoM then I'd have to renovate a renovation so that it would actually work in my game, and I really don't like building so that wouldn't be fun for me. And I absolutely cannot play in the builds that EA made for RoM. They say they have item limits but that's not an excuse for those awful awful building shells they made. I don't mind having to re-furnish the inside of a building, and for older packs I enjoy using the original EA builds and just adding more furniture in them. But they really half-assed this pack. These houses look like they were just thrown together in 5 minutes. It seems to me like they threw more resources making the Magic Realm itself really pretty, and then when it came to the parts that actually matter, like the buildings the sims will actually be spending all their time in and in-depth gameplay, they just went "oop gotta hurry this out b4 the deadline lol" and cut corners. I would rather have a smaller town like Forgotten Hollow and gameplay that integrates well into everyday life like Vampires had. I know a lot of people dislike how vampires just break into your home randomly, but actually playing with the vampire occult and ranking the powers and studying the lore felt so much more accomplishing than how grindy and easy spellcasting is.
That toilet paper roll above the toilet, I can't stop laughing. One of the toiler paper roll holders fell off the wall of the stall at work. They replaced it on the wall, pretty much as seen here. Our supervisor had to complain before they fixed it.

"I just wanna talk" lmfao
Kayla we need a pastel witchy house inspired by pixielocks/kelly eden. pls. we need you.
Wait you watch Jillian too? I've never met another confetti club member outside of her videos ahah ☺️💞
oursparklingplanet omg there’s a facebook group among a bunch of other things!! We out here. 💖
*Buys Realm of Magic just so I can have this beautiful build*
Regarding making builds smaller with less empty space, for some computers that is also a performance issue. I love the way that build looks, but I know that if I tried to play in it my sims would have trouble routing and get stuck between the walls and the furniture. The simple changes you made in wall height should be doable for EA but some of the empty space within rooms probably is necessary. I hope this doesn't seem too harsh, I love your builds and I don't think you're unreasonably critical of EA.
SomeoneBeginingWithI you could teleport your sim everywhere
@@e.c.4600 Yeah I can, and sometimes I do to unstick them. But usually I would rather have them walk, and not have to shift-click all the time. So when I build or adapt houses I do in a way so my sims will get stuck less often.
SomeoneBeginingWithI that makes sense, usually when I build I don’t notice something isn’t functional until it’s too late and by then I just give up.
Haven't seen this yet but already know the answer😏
Thank you Kellog for the Waluigi noises
I didn't know EA was paying me to build houses cause this looks like something I would do. Lmao
That room with just a bed is where they keep Harry. Yeah I know he lived in a cupboard under the stairs, but EA just loves to make big rooms, like they're 12 or something.
I wish I saw this before I completely renovated it myself
Kayla give us your specs! I need to buy a PC like yours!
Her: You can't get worse than this
EA: STAR WARS BUILDS
Me: Ohhhhhh GOOODNESSSS this is gonna be funny. The trailers have already proven that the stuff in the pack is gonna be harder to use than realm of magic. Why does this feel like EA said 'hold my martini glass of simmer's tears and watch this'
the frustration in your face from 3:34 to 3:49 😭 I'm crying
This might be my favorite build you’ve done yet. It’s so much, but I totally dig it.
Love the new build simsie!
this is actually one of my favorite builds by you
edit: also it's not annoying that you actually care about the content people pay for
so, i was looking at that ea build and then you placed yours, and i was speechless. IT IS SOOOO BEAUTIFULL 😍
Holy crap, you’re SUCH a talented builder. Bout to download these remodels so fast wow
Kayla, you did a beautiful job on this build. I truly think it is one of your best.
kayla: thats not the build though
me: might as well be.
I started playing this family last night and absolutely HATED the house. I came on your channel hoping you redid it and wow you exceeded my expectation! Can't wait to download and use your house tonight!
>"without any crazy packs"
>is using the second most freak-based pack of all time
Lilsimsie is the only youtuber that have 6 hours of footage and doesnt show us anything 😂
In our toilet the toilet roll is above the toilet so we have to do that reach up thing😂😂😂
LOL A TOILET PAPER ROLL ABOVE THE TOILET!! What the absolute *Honk!* EA?
I remember watching Mollies stream and then raiding your stream, you looked so sad we thought something really bad happened. But as always you did an amazing job renovating the build and now it's actually looks like a build you would expect from a magic pack.
simsie saying "Its fine! Its functional" is how I describe my life everyday. And then have a breakdown
this is actually very pretty, and I love the first floor and the landscaping so much.
I love this, lilsimsie you're a genius. :D
I never know how bad the houses are until you renovate them
Thank you so much for spending all of the time that you did to fix Glimmerbrook and The Magic Realm.
I think it's definitely better than what was there originally. I like it. I think you did a great job.
Cat freak cabin is the best build EA has done for the sims 4, change my mind.
2:02 I mean the toilet paper in the school i attend is behind our heads, but much higher, so you have to stretch to reach it. It’s so frustrating
You have me in tears from laughter. I love your finish build.
That toilet paper roll above the toilet, I can't stop laughing. One of the toiler paper roll holders fell off the wall of the stall at work. They replaced it on the wall, pretty much as seen here. Our supervisor had to complain before they fixed it.
This is a really cute house! Nice job.
EA is about to be like, "can't get worse, eh? You want university? All wishes come with a price."
