I saw Brian in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in the 1980's, and I didn't know who he was, but he was way beyond his time. He didn't have a band, but he held up something and called it DAT, which later became slang for THAT! What he was talking about was DIGITAL AUDIO TAPE and that was his band! Well Brian was really talented, and he laid down a groove to some great R&B, and he was full of energy, and he put everything into it. He did Short People from Randy Newman, it was really cool. He opened for Russ Taff, who was pursuing a solo career, as he was in the Imperials, and later with the Gaither Vocal Band. But back to Brian, there is nobody that was in his lane, even to this day, and after all these years, his music still holds up just as fresh as it was thirty-five years ago. His vocal is so good, clear, cuts through the music and the words ring out with truth and beauty, and the message it was subtle and laid back, but, also cuts through to the heart. I doubt that Brian will ever read this comment, but he did make a difference, and I was never disappointed with any of his CD's that I bought. He has such a good voice, and writes the songs and the music is just crazy coming from a white guy! How did that happen? Well God planted a gift and a message and mixed in some ADHD into his biological make-up, and presto, one of the best voices in Contemporary Christian Music is recorded for all time. I am hard to please and Brian's voice to me holds a place with David Phelps, Guy Penrod, Jason Crabb, and Russ Taff just to name a few other great voices. I haven't forgotten that concert after all these years, and he still moves my spirit to tears. He was good enough to deserve a Grammy and maybe he did get a Grammy or a Dove Award, but those are earthly awards and will pass away soon enough, and he will receive an eternal reward in Heaven. Well done, Brian, we love you.

I was living in Ventura in 1987. I wish I would have been to this concert. Thank you for posting this to UA-cam. I enjoyed every minute of it. Yes, we need to be true to ourselves and who God made us to be. Bryan's music might not be for everyone but his God is!! Whether slow or fast, soft or loud - if the message is from the LORD it is OK! See you in heaven, Bryan!

How big your love for others is will be based on grace. Do you understand his grace or are you still under law or under partial works and partial grace? Well, what is THE QUICKEST WAY TO RUIN A CHILDS RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU - and your relationship with Father God? - The idea that your Good behavior is necessary TO MAINTAIN your relationship.
If a child believes that they must behave to KEEP your love … they will live in a constant state of insecurity. Eventually this may result in REBELLION! “This is just too hard. I give up!”
This also applies to our relationship with God.
LET ME EXPOSE SATAN RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW!
“You are accepted by God by grace alone without any works BUT YOU MAINTAIN your relationship with God by grace and your works!” This is the supreme lie from the pit of hell!
Where is this in the Bible? Paul? False CHRISTIAN teachers had infiltrated the church at Galatia.
Paul had fathered this church. They lived in an atmosphere of grace - total unconditional acceptance from beginning to end. But things went wrong.
    Galatians 3:1-3
3 You foolish Galatians! Who has cast a SPELL on you? Before your eyes Jesus Christ was vividly portrayed as CRUCIFIED! 2 The only thing I want to learn from you is this: Did you receive the Spirit BY DOING WORKS or by BELIEVING you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? Although YOU BEGAN with the Spirit, are you NOW TRYING TO FINISH BY HUMAN EFFORT?
    Let’s unpack this very carefully.
    1. This false teaching is called a SPELL. GREEK witchcraft.
    2. This satanic witchcraft taught faith in Jesus for salvation. It did not try to eliminate Jesus but ADD to JESUS!
“You began by faith in Jesus alone but now you think that you have to ADD YOUR HUMAN EFFORT!” Faith in Jesus PLUS YOUR RESPONSE-WORKS to maintain acceptance with God!
This is the most deceptive form of false teaching there is.
“Yes of course we get saved by grace alone but then you must do works plus God’s grace to stay saved!” This is behavior-based acceptance and is witchcraft according to Paul. IT RUINS RELATIONSHIPS! If your children live in this kind of atmosphere they will live in fear and insecurity. The pure gospel is this:
You start by grace without any works on your part - and you continue your relationship the exact same way. It’s only in an atmosphere of perpetual unconditional acceptance (grace) that we are free to make mistakes AND FEEL SAFE TO GROW THROUGH THEM.
The saddest Christians I know are those who believe that God is displeased with them because of unhelpful behavior. This relationship will die eventually. But what about “works” - are they not part of being a Christian? Yes, BUT WITH A HUGE QUALIFICATION!
