Volvo has made statement that they will be steering into a new lane and that by 2030 their lineup will consist of electric vehicles only.
The C40 is the first car launched that is only available with an electric drivetrain, and it’s a magnificent piece of kit. Setting the standard of what’s to come from the Swedish maestro’s.
It feels exceptionally solid on the road and one can immediately tell that the underpinnings have been crafted with great precision. Then there’s the steering, which further impresses. It has two settings, and the firmer setup is what we favour. It is very accurate and somewhat “playful” in a very good way. Wow.
Solid build quality is met with simplistic modern design cues that we are very fond of. The interior space feels snug and homey with heated seats for all passengers and a heated steering wheel as well. There’s a panoramic roof that does not open and also does not have a shutter blind, instead, it has thickened glass and added UV protection.
Pricing for the twin-motored Volvo C40 starts from R1.3m which we feel is reasonable, considering what you’ll get.
