Good Day from Canada ! I loved your video ! At about time 3:42 , you spoke of skirts or fingers that you had made and the mounting of such . Could you do a video showing good close ups of one of your new skirts , sizes , shapes cut lines etc . Show what a finished one looks like etc . Show how they fit on to the body of the H. Craft and how your new skirt design pipes the air flow underneath . This would be great ! Thanks so much ! I believe a lot of viewers would like to see a video like this .

That's so dope man!! Can't believe I didn't see this till now! Florida seems like the perfect place to have a Hovercraft, so much flat land and marshes.

We in the Hovercraft community use to call throwing your body weight - "Body English" this was back in the 90's (when Scat was a viable thing and had a US "Race Team")... bigger craft like I have it has no effect on, but yes the smaller craft it is a useful technique. I had plans to upload my hovercraft videos on a new channel... I have been lazy when it comes to filming anything, but would like to just put some slideshows together of all the Hover-ins I attended from 1991-2003.

Hover-ins?!?! Was this like a car show for hovercraft owners? How many people would attend?!

I would like to see it on the beach if you live close to one. Or maybe on a river or Florida Canal. I suggest as a safety precaution to always bring a 200 feet rope. If the engine dies. You can tie one end to the hovercraft and the other end to your waist, swim to shore leaving the craft on the same spot. After you are on land just pull the rope effortlessly to retrieve the craft. As long you stay 200 feet close to the land you won't have to worry. Also the rope is good to tie to another boat. I love this project. I just subscribe.

I used to have a scat ii a few years ago. It came with a Rotax 277 engine which wasn't powerful enough so I swapped in a Rotax 503. Much better but what you have to watch for is a plow in when going at speed. This is a nose dive when the pressure on the front of the finger skirts becomes greater than the air pressure inside the skirt causing the front skirts to collapse. You can usually tell when this is going to happen as you can feel the front dip but you have to be quick to move your weight back and ease off the speed. A serious plow in will throw you over the front and into the water, beware. You can see my videos on my channel.

I have actually watched your 503 videos multiple times 😁 I’m hoping to do the same conversion in the near future when I get some more time to work on my own projects 👍🏼

So awesome! I was waiting for you to put out a video on this. Does it float if the motor dies while on water? I assume it has a fiberglass boat hull as a shell??
We need to find a HP upgrade or a larger motor for it so you can go even faster. Looking good Dakota!!

Thanks man! Yes it will still float if the motor dies, it has a plastic boat hull surrounded by the bags. I have seen people use Rotax engines on these, which would perfect for the future.

They fly much faster on Ice. At least 40 mph. I had mine on lake Erie. Scat relocated after their factory in Fla was destroyed by hurricane. Made units for a while in Vietnam then I think out of business.
