Sorry man going to have to call bullshit on 500HP, 400 Maybe... What boost level is it (I assume that the 1lb comment was only partially on boost and he meant 1 bar, because 1lb isn't noticeable at all), what Injectors and fuel pump does it have, What fuel is it running, what size is the front mount. On a Tune for some other turbo with different flow rates... Nope. and won't go close to 700 without some knowledge about all of that plus a lot more.
tangles01 well the 1 pound of boost was joke because it felt faster then my car even at 1 pound. All I know is that last year he made a little under 500 and then rebuilt it during the winter with rods, pistons, all the good stuff etc. it's still running the same tune as before still but internally it's capable of more now that it's built up. I can ask him what's done to it and get back to you. I have rode in a few 300hp cars and it's a lot faster then those.
Rebuilding doesn't make horse power, building a forged bottom end will make it take more before it goes pop. Here's the simple maths of the matter. on that size turbo 500HP will need like 25lb boost, depending on the tune. at 25lb the head studs would strength and the head would lift unless he's upgraded those and the gasket. And to flow enough fuel would require something in the realm of 600cc plus injectors. With that will need a bigger fuel pump and that size will need a direct battery feed set on a relay to be reliable. Whatever tune he had before will be limited by the volume of fuel, shoving more air in with a bigger turbo for example will gain a small amount of extra HP but will mostly do it by leaning out the air fuel, then you get detonation and the engine also goes pop. Would also know how he's managing boost control an preventing boost spikes, which are an issue for most setups with a turbo that size on an RB. If I'm wrong on every point and it makes anything like 500HP, what you have is not and RB but a time bomb, seen a few. I do respect that you don't actually say any of those things in the video, you just film him saying it (mostly). But what is apparent is a high level of ignorance as to what it has in it, and therefore any ability to throw a HP number at it. Might have a look at your corolla vids look like they might be fun. Not trying to be an ass, just telling it how it is, hope you can take it as it is.
tangles01 I understand where you are coming from, but I'm just not 100% sure what's done to it exactly, last year on 500 it was internally a stock motor with some bolt ons and fuel pump and injectors, and be even said that was right at the limit of a stock 25. When I meant rebuilt I didn't mean rebuilt with OEM parts, it has aftermarket rods, pistons, etc but I don't know what brand or anything. He said 500, it felt like 500, so that's what I put the title as. I am not the most educated person when it comes to big HP builds, I mainly tinker with the NA stuff. I did just pick up a SR20 S13 though, so maybe I'll learn something!
I can see you're not sure what he's done, neither is he... just casts further doubt, but it's ok I know you've passed on the numbers in good faith that you were told the right numbers. Want to learn feel free to ask.
I have a stock rb25 s14 but it is missing like crazy. replaced coil packs, plugs and some other things and still can't figure it out. on day it will be up to par with that s14....
danny graafland that's my car, and probably not haha. Maybe if I go with a Origin wing down the road. You can add me on IG at @yourfriendchase_ and message me about it if you see I get something else!
danny graafland if you want a more descriptive way to look for it, it's called a Type A wing for Zenki HCR32s. There was also a Type B wing which is super curvy and on later R32s. Zenki usually has clear corner lights and no fog lights.
Brent Shreffler I'm in canton! About 40 Minutes from Midvale. We run clubloose2 at Midvale speedway in the summer. If you go through my channel and watch some of my drifting it's mostly at Midvale!
Blower only working on high is typically a bad blower resister.
dadinCBUS hey thanks for the tip!
solder has probably popped off the end terminal easy fix with a soldering iron.
No way I would sell that 240! That RB sounds AMAZING!!!
your heat only works on 4 because your AC resistor is bad. usually located under glove box in most cars
people only build rbs for the sound. 😂😂😂😂😂 so true! best sound in the world.
What juicy sounds.
very juicy
