Nathans aren't dirty water dogs bruh. You went to a franchise cart. Real nyc og hotdog carts boil their dogs/sausages . Only Mustard ketchup sabrett onions sauerkraut...Also look for knishes at a cart. Thats it. None of that extra extra youll find a real "nyc hotdog cart"
You’re not wrong. There are a lot of stands that have a little of everything. But the OG hog dog only stands still exists. Price ranges are really wide. You kind of have to live here to know the good ones (not tourist traps). I have some that I really love. $2.50 a hot dog. Cash only. Nathan’s is not dirty water, but it’s solid. You should try to find an old school dirty water hot dog cart. DM me if you want a few reccos.
My Canadian ass had to google what dirty water meant cause I literally thought what gave the NYC hotdogs their charm was that they were cooking them in ACTUAL dirty water😂😅! Honestly sometimes them dirty hole in the wall places make the best food and I never question their practices cause I don’t get sick and the food is banging😛.
It's because you keep finding halal food carts. You need to find an old school sabrett's cart. A classic New Yorker would be mustard sauerkraut and onion sauce
You should try Skyline Chili they are slowly fading out but I love them. I get a coney dog extra cheese but most of their stuff is good. Love from Columbus, OH
My new favorite thing is Currywurst, sliced up fried knockwurst tossed in a curry sauce. Total fire. My favorite hot dog is a Seattle Dog or a Hot Link with fresh chopped onion, sourkrout, with spicy brown mustard and ketchup. Definitely chili cheese dogs with chopped onion as well.
@thecrowing1989 I live in the States so I watched UA-cam to learn how to make my own. I love it with pasta, rice, on a brioche bun or just by itself. It's fairly simple to make and pairs good with just about any Hot Link, Sausage or Hot Dog.
Those onion rings definitely look like they were fried fresh, usually if they are re fried they would look dark and taste bitter. And often the batter is more soggy because the oil has more of a chance to get inside the ring.
🌭Love seeing the hotdog stand! My favourite is a beef hotdog with it split down the middle halfway through. Then fill it with cream cheese, add regular mustard and a little relish.
Its overpriced, but still the same qaulity food. Dont go to tourist trap Food stands like Times Sqaure or near heavily populated areas that tourists usually see.
Gotta go to long island city piers by gantry park, its a beautiful view that overlooks the city and they have a cluster of food trucks there. You should try it dude, Queens has a lot of good food spots. One if not the most diverse neighborhoods in the world.
I hope Taco Bell is the next mukbang. In your last Taco Bell mukbang, you talked about items you’ve never had here in the states, like the Chalupa Supreme. You should try all protein versions Beef, Black Bean, Chicken, Slow-Roasted Chicken, and Steak.
fcats, it's really only available in NYC and some parts of NJ and *maybe* PA. Very much loved in NYC but still unknown everywhere else if you can't find a sit-down Afghan/Lebanese/Yemeni spot
The dog to bread ratio looks good. Nothing worse than a thick bread roll and a small dog. The guy that said he didn't know what is popular or what people ordered is a bit of an idiot. If you are selling stuff and a customer asks for a recommendation or what is popular you just pick something off the menu....anything.
I can see where you are coming from. I personally don't like a cheese pull in anything unless it's pizza, which I don't want it to be too stretchy where im not able to eat, but where I can enjoy it and not apply too much effort.
Cheese pull is cool my problem with it in videos is people force it or put too much focus on it, it's supposed to be something that just happens on it's own not something you put attention to beforehand
