It's insane how many people don't remember the show when it was only Ernie. He was on point with analysis, but struggling with viewers. Then came these jokers as guests, and the rest was, is history.

@@heytherebato actually Ernie had different co-hosts, but not the regulars that we see today. It's a rotation of Cheryl Miller, Reggie Theus, Dick Versace then some NBA players like Chuck and C-Webb and Reggie Miller.
But again, they're not the regulars/mainstays, so Ernie was still the lone host of the show before Kenny arrived to be a regular.
