That's how I write. I get an idea, I let it simmer. It takes shape at the back of my mind somewhere. I do other things.
One of my books, I had the idea two years before I wrote it. It wouldn't leave me. I wrote the actual novella (27,000 words) in 9 days.
I feel guilty when I don't write every day.
