    Mike, this is one of the most underrated channels on UA-cam. I wish you 1000 x more subscriptions. - “The Algorithm” unfortunately prefers pseudo science channels, the content made of 99.99% stock footage, but 0.01% information only. Actual example: James Webb telescope, 99.99% click bait, millions of subscribers, hundreds of million views. What does the UA-cam management do? Cutting down benefits of channels like this one, offering true content, for the sake of click bait channels. The betrayed are creators like Mike and the companies paying loads of money for the views of their ads on the CB channels, no one watching those channels is seriously is interested in. If this reflects the true mental condition of mankind, we’re doomed and don’t deserve better.

    so glad you emphasised "light" , 'lighting is everything' 🤓📷 .. thanks for making so many great and easy to understand videos 🙏 so many ppl only have basic equipment & limited access to birds, i have adapted many of your techniques for backyard birds in flight with resounding success , thank you

    Hi Mike, I like your videos very much, a lot of inspiration for me, we do have this little place in our local wood Bangsbo where we spend som time feeding the birds during winther, and having kind of close relation with them, the nuthatch and a couple more is coming to the hand and collect nuts, it is a kind fun and cool I think. Cheers Svend

    Great video mine, I have the Monfretto 502 Fluid head, question do you lock out the Benro and do you turn image stabilisation off. Thanks for sharing.

    • @MikeLaneFRPS
      @MikeLaneFRPS  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Nick, I never switch off the IS. Never have since it was first introduced. Using a tripod with a long lens hold the shutter button down with you right hand to keep the IS active. With your left hand turn the IS off and on. You should see the vibration in the viewfinder reduce when IS is on. Your right hand is causing the vibration with a long lens and the IS is reducing it.
      Not sure what question one means. I lock the vertical pan sometimes, never the horizontal.

    Brilliant! Question - are you pre-focussed or relying on the eye detection AF?

    • @MikeLaneFRPS
      @MikeLaneFRPS  2 роки тому +1

      Using the eye detection. With a Sony A1 it is almost impossible not to be in focus. My Olympus MFT cameras are good enough for static shots like this, but not for flight.
