- In today's tutorial, we talk about to 'rake' or 'card' your Setter or Spaniel-coated breed of dog! Today Allison demonstrates with an English Cocker Spaniel, but this technique is used on many breeds with a similar coat type, such as English Setters, Gordon Setters, Irish Setters, English Springer Spaniels, Salukis, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and more!
so helpful! I'd love to see more specifics on grooming Golden Retriever ears...I see so many different preferences, and struggle to know what to do! I can get the general shape correct, but the whole "make it look natural but also make it look perfect" thing is such a trip 🤦♀️🙃😄
Have you seen our Golden 101 course? It is a best seller, here is the link. www.leadingedgedogshowacademy.com/p/golden-grooming-101/?preview=logged_out
Would you hand strip a cavalier King Charles spaniel? I have seen people use the carding comb, but never a stepping knife.
(Amateur dog owner).
Thank you.
Do you rake with a coat king & use the carding knives also? I recently bought a mars coat king rake & was wondering should I rake with that & use carding knives too? Tia
Do you ever use a banded comb? Great for stripping and Doesnt break the coat, much easier :)
Yes, love a banded comb
