Beautiful video Fabian !!! The chick on the back is also one of my dream frame. Saw it twice but the grebes were very far hoping to get that shot in this season. Best wishes that you get the shot soon
Hi Fabian, can't work out how many cameras you have! Have you got a favourite yet? I have a chance of a canon 500 mk2 lens would that plus the new R5 mk2 work well. Thanks
Hi Fabian, thanks to take time to test this set. When you say that the colours of the a1+400 seat in the middle between the canon and the Nikon, and both have their dominants, do you mean that they are better and they reflect the real colors without have dominants or did they show their own dominant? Another thing that I totally agree, and I'm a Nikon shooter with Z8, the quality of the files of z8/9 sensor at higher ISO, I'd say above 4.000, is already very compromised. I noticed that time ago when I had for 1 week the A1 (unfortunately not with G lenses) that the files of the A1 were suffering less at high ISO. But I still think that the Nikon raw file is a bit stronger when pushed to strong editing. Any evident loss of quality of the 400 2.8+ 2x on big crops? Ciao!
I somehow prefer the Canon colours, since I like warm tones. Unfortunately, there was a quite noticeable effect of the 2x extender on the 400/2.8. I was not happy with the sharpness in many situations
Wonderful video and superb images and video. I liked the way you worked the light with both backlit silhouettes and creamy backgrounds.
Thanks
Very nice photos today @800mm Fabian, well done!
Thanks
Beautiful photos. Nice having that 2.8 for them low light photos. Nice work on the vid also.
Thanks

Thanks, you too!
Great video and beautiful pictures, was this during your Scandinavian trip? Love Sonys zebra feature with exposing the early morning light. Cheers!
Thanks! No, that was still in Switzerland. I‘m working on the Scandinavia footage, but I‘m a bit busy shooting 😅

I only own Canon gear, the rest were just loaners from the respective companies. I think my favorite is the R5 II, but I need to do more testing
Wooww amazing shots Fabian! I also live in Munich and I'd love to join you to take wildlife photos with you! Let me know if you would like to connect!
Thanks! I‘m from Switzerland though 😊

@@FabianFoppNaturephotography did you test the nikon 400 2.8 ? If so, with the 2x TC?
How close and how far are the birds in your shots?
This was quite different, that’s why I also used different focal lengths. Maybe 15-40m? But I‘m really bad at estimating that
