Hello, how did you get the tips flush with the bumper. I just installed the ecs with 4" tips and sticks out almost 3' from the bumper. And I have them mounted as far as possible toward the muffler so no more room to adjust them back. Any advice is appreciated
I followed the ECS instructions to install all of the piping as much towards the front of the car as possible. Helped with clearance all the way around.
Hi, i have an S4 too, and i see on internet that the ECS tuning exhaust have some problems like loose welds, is it true for you or not? Sorry for my english, i'm french and thank you for your reply ^^
How is the drone my friend? AWE touring exhaust enthusiast here, coming from little to no drone with that set up, i want to try something new and this catches my ears!
I have the ecs resonated exhaust with dsg transmission. With the valves closed, there is zero drone but with the valves open the drone is pretty bad especially in some of the lower frequencies. Hope this helps
Hey my flex pipe joint has broken on both sides twice already, my actuators are stuck in the closed position. In only 15,000 miles. Are you having problems with this exhaust system?
Sorry to hear that. I didn't experience any of those issues personally, but it's worth noting I had a very early production of this exhaust. The quality may have changed over time. You can try giving ECS a call even though their customer service isn't as good as it used to be.
I have this exact setup and with the valves open it sound amazing. It’s basically a straight pipe with a resonator. There is drone but with the valves closed it sound just a little louder than stock and zero drone. Never heard the awe in person so I can’t make a direct comparison but you can’t go wrong with this setup. You’re getting a valved setup for around the same price and this is a quality product.
Just picked up my b8.5 s4 in Sepang Blue with DSG. Love the exhaust notes, and valve open it sounds like my old MK4 R32. Question: with valve closed, is it close to stock in volume? A little louder? A lot louder? Also, the tips look big, are they much bigger than stock? Hard to tell in your startup video.
Valves closed is definitely louder than stock but it's much quieter than any other exhaust upgrade I've heard. Perfect for daily driving in my opinion. I went with the 3.5" tips vs the 4" tips that are standard. ECS can swap them for you at no cost if you email/chat them.
I had one of the very first systems they shipped. Outside of needing to use some finesse to get the pipes to fit together, I've had zero issues. I have heard other complains about the clamps but I think as long as you follow ECS's directions word for word and install the clamps the proper way you should be fine.
After about 2 months, the weld behind the driver side muffler broke. Contacted ecs about it, they said they would look into it but haven’t really had a response yet. I’ve already had a local shop weld it back on. Hoping I can at least get some new tips since the current pair did get damaged when the muffler fell off.
Mike, we don’t agree on some things but cars is certainly one of them. We’re S4 twinning 🤙🏼
Haha guess you didn't have enough German in your driveway?
the 1 dislike drives a toyota corolla
I can’t decide between this one or the awe touring exhaust I just want 0 drone sound but with a resonator delete damn !
Sounds sick, I need one of these! How difficult was the install?
Probably a 5 on a scale of 1-10 with the right tools and some experience.

How do you open and close the valves is it controlled through the Dynamic on the drive select?
ECS provides a wireless remote but you can easily program it to your home link

Thanks for the video!! Sounds awesome!
DUDE OMG YES !!!
How’s the drone at highway speeds?

I ordered resonated version for my s4 and the welds are very good, installed it just today will see how it lasts.

@@juniorvazquez622 thanks a lot
can you open the valve as you drive?
Yeah, that's the biggest benefit of this system. You can open and close the valves on the fly.

Sounds great.
Roughly how much did it cost to install the exhaust?
$0. I did the install myself. You're probably looking at $300-$500 depending on your shop & location.
How does the sound when valve open compare to AWE exhaust? Is it as loud as AWE touring or track??

hi thx for sharing is the car has test pipe?
No test pipes

@@miked9986 Why did you go with the 3.5? fitment issues? rubbing on the diffuser?
@@ericf3688 No fitment issues. Just think the 3.5 looks cleaner with the OEM diffuser.
Have you had any issues so far?
Yeah my MPG have dropped because I can't drive civilized knowing how good it sounds on WOT. Joking aside, the system has been great for me.
Does the system drone at highway speeds
Zero drone with the valve closed
This shit whines in his garage 😂 I can only imagine how much it whines at me out on the open road😂
Sounds great. Currently placed an order for same system for my S5. Any quality issues?

I wish we could find the part number of just the mufflers for those that have already done the x-pipe mode.
The mufflers used only pair with the complete system due to the difference in piping size.
Riggsbee difference in piping size😂 I’m pretty sure the muffler is the only pipe making it a difference 😂
