Oh!! Oh!!! I love that one, no, I love that one, I've had one of those and those and those. Wait I didn't see a...oh there it is. Yes I've owned eleven different ones, thanks Marci, brought back a lot of very good memories.
@@marcijunebug Marci, don't know if you know the reason Karmin Ghias and buses (transporters) are hard to find. On the Ghias, short wheelbases, no need to cut down the pan for buggies and the kit cars. The transporters had heavier rear running gear, again for buggies. The square back and fastbacks weren't brought in for a variety of reasons, quite a few were brought back by service members from Germany. The trucks, trade war, Germany put a high import tariff on us poultry products, so the US put a high import tariff on German made trucks, specifically for Mercedes but VW got caught in the fight. More interesting is the high tariff on Japanese made trucks. Back before they started building in the US, the Japanese got around the high tariffs by way of a loophole they found. None of the trucks were shipped with LT tires, loophole, they came in with passenger car tires. Sorry, I get off on tangents sometimes, thanks again.
Good for Dad! Loved the video of you both in the Volkscart- you trying to drive, take video and listen at the same time- I had a 1955 VW when in Germany with the Army in 1970-
amen! we had such a great time and it was so good to have our two other friends join us for the cruise there and back! I loved all the colors we had too!
I know! my poor truck! It had a work out that day, good news is not a drop of oil in the engine bay! hehe and I'd say if it was going to leak it def would have with that haul and the load I had on it!
the cars all did great! that was a pretty long haul in an old vw, but they all did great! the teal 63 that was traveling with us that was furthest he'd ever driven it! my dad's car too!
We arrived late to the show, so I greatly appreciate this wonderful video. We were very happy to have met you briefly at the end when you were loading up. That made the trip extra special!
I'm so glad you stopped in and talked with us! We love meeting folks that love good old rusty "junk" and VW's! I feel like we are all a big family of long lost cousins or something! lol We all share the same passions and it is so great to share those with others!!!
Such a nice mum, taking your son’s ride along, awesome. Great video, nice soundtrack which really suited the show...lots of cool cars. I loved the Rivieras on the yellow Beetle...Rivieras are my favourite, hands down the best!
yes the dark brown Riviera was probably one of my favorites! loved that Tow'd buggy too! I had never seen one quite like that one! of course loved them all because all of them are loved and driven and that's what it is all about!
@@marcijunebug another 10 years the kid will be bringing his vdub to the shows.....he's got the talent and aptitude like his. Mom. Right? Start looking for another 67........a transitional year for VW
thanks, yes, we were surprised they decided to go ahead an host the show but they managed the social distancing part well and kept everyone in their own area so it worked out well! great day
If you design a bed in back of pickle , you would not be the first to do that. some I have seen over the years were nice and some not so nice . It looks like your family had a ton of fun !
yeah that other double used to be flat paint purple! lol it was pretty bad, he painted it that army green color and added the details and it turned out really cool!
Sorry we missed that show, lots of cool cars. That would have been a long haul for us. So far the Porsche/ VW family reunion is on at Germania park northwest of Cincinnati in Sept. is still on. Peace
Oh that sounds like a great show! and not too far from y'all!! We were just happy all our vw's made it and we had a gorgeous trip due to the rolling hills and thick fog!
haha! I bet! lot's of great rides there for sure! it was a really quaint nice little town, it is where they built the stadium to film a league of their own movie! the car show was right there behind the stadium!
@@marcijunebug Liked that movie, baseball big in our family my uncle in the 50's played for the White Sox's he was a pitcher, funny we all follow the Cubs. My grandfather would always ask him why the White Sox ??
last car show I went to 2018 ohio state fair grounds..so big ,so hot, it was brutal, used my e-bike to see it all..maybe 20 vw's in the whole 1000's of car show....got in free some one gave me there 3 day pass..good thing I only live a half mile from there..and not 100's of miles away..
This was a nice show, nice drive in the VW's and really wasn't blazing hot! The little awning I made for the double cab provided the perfect amount of shade!
I hear ya...I personally am not either. I don't mind a "moderate" chance here and there but I love them stock just like VW intended...hard to improve on perfection in my option they nailed it right off the production line...everyone is wanting me to slam pickle when I'm done with him...news flash...that ain't happening! ha
Very cool Marci. Thanks for bringing us along!
fun day! Thanks for coming along! The thing would have fit in well there! There was only one if I recall correctly!
Wow thanks for taking us along to the show! Lots of great VWs there! Design a bed for pickle!! 😁 Great Video Marci!!

boy, the camber on those rear tires really shows when you lower a swing arm bug.
yeah, tires sure don't last very long but "you look cool" (I personally prefer stock height, but can appreciate the slammed look)
I miss Vws, and I don't :) Looks like a decent show turnout.
