Hands-down the best explanation for loading that I’ve ever watched. I have always hated loading that thing. I think maybe I could learn to like it again. 👍
Hi Jess, I want to thank you for making this video. I have had a "love/hate" relationship with my ATG to th point it has been sitting on my shelf for over a year. However, after seeing this video and learning how to "properly" use it, I am in love with it again! : )
I love my ATG - I actually have two. One is loaded with the all purpose adhesive and the second has acid free for when I scrapbook. One tip for separating papers once you have pressed down, is to use the Cricut spatula to kind of slice between the layers of paper. It has saved me numerous times.
ok. i’m back! and i just have to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for this video. i took my atg out looked at it closely to see why my roll was coming off the spinner and why it wouldn’t click. are you guys ready for this... i feel so dumb. don’t laugh y’all. i still had the empty cartridge from my previous roll in there and i just stacked the new one in. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ but now problem solved.
It took me a few times to get my tape loaded right. Great job explaining for those who are new and need it. I love my ATG gun, one of the most used tools in my studio.
EXCELLENT helpful tutorial, Jess! I tossed my ATG a few years back because of user error. However, I have lots of refills for it so it obviously upset me. NOW I can finally use it! Thank you, dear.
Thank you for this video!!! Saving it to my files as it's been three years since I've last used mine because I thought it was kaput! And now I've learned, from your video, that I had forgot to replace the last, winged piece to the wheel that you so gracefully instructed. This refreshing has given me a renewed relationship with my ATG and will NOT be replacing it!!! Thank you!! 😀❤
Thanks for this video. My ATG was in the car to go to Goodwill. When I saw this video, I decided to give the ATG one more try. I have a smaller version but you just change the whole cartridge. And the cartridges are on the more expensive side. You have redeemed my ATG! I have watched other videos but they went fast and didn’t explain. You went slow, great explanations and good video coverage. Thank you
Thanks so much for this video and tips. I bought one of these a bit ago and liked it until I had to refill it. I find that the tape gets out of alignment, and gets sticky all over inside, so apparently I am not loading it properly! I’ll try again, watching your video! ❤
Thank you finally I've got this tape glider working properly. Brilliant video as it slow and easy to do and watch. I've had it years, and years so I'm very happy xxx
Thanks for this. I use my ATG all the time. I read a hint that if you put your layer on crooked you can heat it a bit from behind and it will peel off so that you can straighten it. This was a lifesaver for me as I often struggle with aligning the layers.
Thank you thank you thank you! I have wasted a ton of adhesive because I didn’t wait for the click before moving the gun. I intend to practice so I can get good at this.
Finally purchased the AGT and extra rolls a few months ago (was given a lot of gift cards at my retirement party as my co-workers knew I love crafting cards). Each time I use it, I get better at it. Still have a small supply of other adhesives that I can use when needed. Used your code to order the tape rolls from Tape Jungle. Love all your tips for card making.
great video! I've been using an ATG for more years than I want to say, and you had tips that I didn't know that will make re-loading it so much easier. And thank you for showing us the holder you have for it. I can't tell you have many times I've set it down with the tape side up and it tips over and makes so much noise. I like that Make it by Marko's has a smaller footprint than other holders I've seen on the market.
I took a Sharpie permanent marker and colored in the refill loading direction arrows on the inside back (colored side) of my atg. I haven't had a problem with forgetting how the tape loads since I did this. Such a simple trick.
Just wanted to Thank You so much for recommending Tape Jungle. I ordered a 12 pack and it arrived within just a few days. I was generally impressed with quick delivery. Haven't used them yet but am sure they will be fine as they are recommended for the Pink ATG.
I'd give you 2 thumbs up if I could...lol. I had mine boxed up and ready to return for a refund because all the other videos I watched weren't as thorough as yours. Thank you for saving me the trouble. I now love it.
Thank you so very much! I so appreciate your kindness to teach us the proper way to use it and have success...Have a Beautiful Blessed Day Full of Happiness and Joy!!
Thank you for this video. I was sooo frustrated with this device but this helped me so much. I finally understand how to properly load and use it. Thanks Again!
I've had mine since they first came out on the market. I love it. I have had a strange problem with refills from 3M. The tape is wound incorrectly so it's backwards and can't be loaded. Hard to explain. The company replaced several boxes as I bought in bulk. I need more after several years, think I'll try the tape jungle. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! You're the only one that explained the return strip goes on top of the one already on the left real. I was running it behind the wheel and couldn't figure out why my tape wasn't advancing and rolling onto the right wheel. I was about ready to toss my ATG gun. You saved it's life.:)
Hello Jess, great tutorial on how to refill the ATG. I’ll definitely save this video for reference and thank you for the other tips and tricks. I love the ATG holder! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this. I had stopped using mine and after a bit brought it back out so I will check when I’m releasing the trigger. I tend to get clumps of the tape when I want to stop (not always but often). It just releases and shrinks to a blob of tape so this should help. Looks like I may be loading it differently too. Thanks for the helpful advice. I will give it a try and let you know.
Thank you, lots of great tips. I love my atg. Once I figured it out it is my go to adhesive. Been using it a number if years and has held up wonderful.
I buy from Tape Jungle as well. I recently went to Scrapbook Expo and was surprised to see so many tables have ATGs. I thought i was one of the last ones. I store my ATG on its top. Takes up less space. Sits securely on my desk.
Hi Jess, this is great. I find I have better luck if I don't buy the refills that have been hanging up by the box on display in the store. The "pancake" tends to warp and the center sags. The refills from Tape Jungle (or other) are stored flat and can stay flat. Other than that, the squeaking is sometimes funny.
Thank you for this! I just ordered one for the first time. I’m waiting for it to be delivered. I’m sure I’ll be coming back to your video when I need to refill it. I’m also a little worried, as I have arthritis in my hand.
I have wrist issues + Essential Tremors, but I love my ATG gun Thanks for the great video. Best video I've seen on use & loading very detailed. Thank you
thank you for the tips. i find my gun has a hard time clicking when i release and my tape keeps running. i need to press and release multiple times before i remove. i’m waiting to finish the roll of tape currently to give it another shot because i might have loaded it incorrectly since the roll pops out of wheel.
Would it be possible to do a liquid glue companion video for this one? It might sound silly? But I want to use liquid glue but never get it right. Always too much glue and it bends. Or not enough? Thank you. I love your channel.
I have seen a lot of people say the tape is on the wrong side-you can fix that…you have to just pull the tape to the opposite side and wind it. It will go to the proper side. We use these at work to wrap gifts..i have a love/hate for these..but I won’t wrap gifts any other way now🤣
Thanks Jess. I don't have an ATG so this was very helpful and interesting. I have wrists problems so while it looks so nice and would love to get one, I think that it will not be suitable for me. Such a pity. Have a great day. It's midnight here in South Africa. 💞👍
Hoped to see you address the issue I have with my ATG gun. Followed all your instructions but my tape creeps off the front roller (like to the side) so that I have to stop, open the gun, & shimmy the tape back onto the roller & onto the tape roll on the inside. Wonder if I just have a bad gun. If anyone else has had this issue any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jess 😁
@@donnaward6158 I've considered contacting Scotch, unfortunately I've had my gun for over 5 years. Maybe I will give it a try anyway. What's the worst they can say ? Will let you know how they respond. Thanks for responding Donna 😁
My tape almost always sits at the edge of the front roller. I have had the issue you spoke about but only very rarely and usually because the gun wasn't loaded well or the tape refill wasn't wound well. I find it can help to pull at an angle, basically toward the left when applying to counteract the drift. But definitely reach out to Scotch, maybe it is the specific glider you have.
What about when the ATG tape just tears the paper you apply it to, but on other surfaces (like metal or glass or tougher stuff than paper) it doesn't do anything? The tape doesn't stick to the surface at all.
General purpose ATG adhesive is not meant to be used on anything but paper. They have a different option for non paper surfaces. I have not personally tried it though. In terms of it ripping the paper you apply it to I would need more context as that has never happened to me.
@@JessCrafts I've never had it happen before, either, but I've had it a long time. I bought a new one yesterday, so I guess I'll have to try it. This defective one has the red plaid colour to start with - I noticed that the box that showed that colour (yesterday) said it was for metal and wood (I never noticed whether the box this one came in said that, and assume that the first roll I used was fine on paper, since I only do paperwork - anyway, it doesn't work on anything. The sticky part is where it should be). This new stuff says it's for paperwork, so I'll give it a try. Don't know what to do with the one in the ATG.
I LOVE my ATG and wonder how I lived so long without it! My only complaint is that it is a very right handed tool, so it is a bit awkward for this left handed person.
Hands-down the best explanation for loading that I’ve ever watched. I have always hated loading that thing. I think maybe I could learn to like it again. 👍

Hi jess! Just wanted to ask if it’s possible to use the regular double sided tape on the tape glider?
Hi Dawn! I believe it needs to be 1/4 inch acid free or general purpose.
