Thank you for sharing this video. My family and I have wonderful memories of Alaska! I'll be forwarding this to my siblings! 😊
I can remember the church I attended (North Pole Assembly of God), Santa's House (which was tiny back then), a friend's house, the gravel pits where we went swimming, our church's youth Snow-Go Parties and the absolutely BEAUTIFUL scenery (all 4 seasons of beauty and splendor).
There were no commercial businesses (McDonald's, Safeway, Pizza Hut, etc) but it was definitely fun! The roads were dirt and gravel.
Shout out to Robert Mainlander, Robert Hawks and the Yingst family if you all still live in North Pole! 👋😊

Where is everybody? Almost reminds me of a dystopic "after" movie.

I LOVED North Pole Alaska! We lived on Eielson AFB. I was an active member in our church youth group (North Pole Assembly of God). Snow-Go Parties, swimming and picnicking at the gravel pits, hanging out with great friends ... MANY fond memories!
Our family regularly went camping at Birch Lake.
I guess life is what one makes of it. 😊

@@jason3211 it's been awhile since I've had the pleasure of living in Alaska. I'm planning a road trip with my family (Husband, Son, Daughter-in-Law and Grandchildren) so they can see for themselves this magnificent state.
From what I recall, our first snow was normally in September, but it was a light one that usually melted. In October, we received a heavier (beautiful) snow that pretty much stayed on the ground until the "March Thaws".
