It is sad, but with intervention are you really helping or prolonging his suffering? I think if people step in every time one of our beloved old lions gets injured, lion populations will become too dense and the old will continue to get picked on and suffer.

Seldom realising that for a great number of them, their last moments will be lived in agony and alone. Nature is wonderful, but can be very brutal. So true Vivienne, nature and it's beauty mesmerizes us, touches us and inspires so many of us. But what it also does, is it breaks pieces of us, and leaves it with them. This was extremely tough to film for me personally, as he was my favorite lion in the Kruger. But, i had to endure it, as his story in its entirety needs to be told as it was. The good and the bad. Father Lubey Lubey, was and still is a legend, he had beauty, strength with an intelligence to cheat death more than once. Even after he was gravely injured he pressed on to return to his pride, which he did and I think he would have survived if his brother's hadn't moved on. Even in the throws of death he soldiered on, but as we all know there is death around every corner in Kruger and this time he succumbed to death unable to regain enough strength fast enough to defeat the enemy. I'm sure he fought gallantly as the King he was. I'm glad we didn't see the aftermath. He just vanished to join his noble ancestors which welcomed him into the Pride of which he will always belong ! He will forever be known as a Magnificent King that graced us with his presence, he fulfilled his purpose in life with the fortitude of power, strength, beauty and of mind like no other. We miss him, but his spirit lives on, in every Lion in Africa ! Hail to the King 🦁👑
His look at 1:50 still gets me 🥲even when he was badly injured he looked like a powerful male, he was just sitting there probably thinking”what just happened to me”. Father Lubeylubey was also recovering..I mean from a injury like that..that shows how sting his will go survive is, he was even drinking water again in the last sighting that you had from him. One thing is for sure he will be remembered for ever as the iconic father lion of the Kruger and as the oldest Male lion. Rest in peace Father LubeyLubey 😇🦁🙏

Most definitely my friend, intervene here, and it's dire consequences unfortunately. Humans have died trying, did you know that? There was a guy in the Crater that tried to rescue a dying lion a couple of years ago. That lion then used every single bit of energy he had left, killed the Ranger and ate him. Lions don't think straight if they starve and hurt. I've seen one clip of a lioness doing the same with two tourists on a safari vehicle. Where the Ranger straight up said, "it's better if we leave now, she's not thinking straight". Humans should not interfere with nature. That's my belief, just like you explained here. As hard as it is seeing them like this, we have to let nature take it's course. Same with the S26 lions last year. So many people told me to help the first one. He was WAY beyond any medical help, but people can't think that far unfortunately. This journey is definitely tough my friend, make no mistake about it. It's a hard road sometimes, but so many valuable lessons to be learnt. I appreciate you my friend, as always. Just appreciate you being here, with me on my journey. This was definitely a hard watch, to see such a mighty king in his frail state!! Makes me think of my mighty red nose Pitt!! Peace be with both. When my red nose was at his end and so frail and I just couldn't put him down, he was such a good dog and still had a year with him in such a frail state. So thankful for that year with him but one of the hardest times for him, couldn't hold anything down and when he did... Like I said a hard watch. One that deserves respect and should not be judged. For that is not and should never be judged by others. Thankfully you had the memory of him and that time with him was so special, to salute that King in his time and let him live and die on his terms not ours!! Such a bittersweet moment that you would not have had, but fortunate enough to have!! So nothing but respect, and love you will get from me!! I stopped watching any of the wild earth 🌏 episodes and the other episodes through out anything else that I watched for years! Because too many kings were killed off by their rivals brought in such a SMALL SPACE! One by one they all died of overcrowding and to many competitors torture the oldest lions 🦁! I see the Prides of all the different Kings picked out and slaughtered by their enemies! 😢 it's sad that this is happening!

i love Sabi Sands alot and know alot about SS im now getting to know more about kruger and their lion...i know this post is 10months old but i cant help but notice the extreme resemblance to this male and Mak senior + Makhulu....we know WSM came from kruger but not where exactly with his resemblance maybe he is grandsons of WSM or even grandnephews....if you see this can you inform me about this lion a little and his origins thanks....i researched a little plus with this video i know how legendary this lion is, paired with SS legendary lions like Mapogos, WSM etc some even believe WSM bloodline runs in Leeupan pride/males who went on to father coalitions like Majingilanes and Mantimahle males etc....i know i went on a rant i apologise😅 but if these lines can be connected this bloodline is actually insane and extremely legendary like Old Gomondwane Southern bloodline legendary.....id really appreciate it if we discuss this a little thanks 🙏

No idea my friend. There was a young male seen the next morning, with a very bad wound on his back. Not know if it's possible that it could be the Tatu males, perhaps even the new S21 males in the area. Both would make perfect sense.
I really hope he didn't feel much pain by the time the hyenas got to him. He didnt deserve to go out that way. Do we have an idea what lion(s) did this to him?
My favorite by far my friend. This took such a big piece of me me, lost a lot of momentum after this unfortunately. But, we all re gain strength, we gather ourselves and we soldier on my friend. Lumby Rest In Peace😮😢 ❤! Memories of the last Majestic King 😢of the last oldest of our Beloved Kings! My heart is broken 😞 over this loss! I stopped watching any of the wild earth 🌏 episodes and the other episodes through out anything else that I watched for years! Because too many kings were killed off by their rivals brought in such a SMALL SPACE! One by one they all died of overcrowding and to many competitors torture the oldest lions 🦁! I see the Prides of all the different Kings picked out and slaughtered by their enemies! 😢 it's sad that this is happening!
So true my friend. Unfortunately, and fortunately for me, it's an episode that i can't just turn off. I basically live with these magnificent animals. It's a bittersweet experience, almost every time. We lose so many kings, but we also gain so many in the form of cubs. Such a balanced event really. i love Sabi Sands alot and know alot about SS im now getting to know more about kruger and their lion...i know this post is 10months old but i cant help but notice the extreme resemblance to this male and Mak senior + Makhulu....we know WSM came from kruger but not where exactly with his resemblance maybe he is grandsons of WSM or even grandnephews....if you see this can you inform me about this lion a little and his origins thanks....i researched a little plus with this video i know how legendary this lion is, paired with SS legendary lions like Mapogos, WSM etc some even believe WSM bloodline runs in Leeupan pride/males who went on to father coalitions like Majingilanes and Mantimahle males etc....i know i went on a rant i apologise😅 but if these lines can be connected this bloodline is actually insane and extremely legendary like Old Gomondwane Southern bloodline legendary.....id really appreciate it if we discuss this a little thanks 🙏

No idea my friend. There was a young male seen the next morning, with a very bad wound on his back. Not know if it's possible that it could be the Tatu males, perhaps even the new S21 males in the area. Both would make perfect sense.

My favorite by far my friend. This took such a big piece of me me, lost a lot of momentum after this unfortunately. But, we all re gain strength, we gather ourselves and we soldier on my friend. Such is life lived with these magnificent animals. They give so much joy amd great moments, but they also take a big part of you when you see them go out like this..... 💔😞

Probably HYENAS but it was not seen... with them being in that area where they were and had blood on them most likely not a good ending.
I think those hyenas finished him after i saw him that day. He was simply too weak, the beautiful old boy... 💔😞
