Awesome as always!..... I'm trying to create the connection between both of them (Wwise&Unity) but I can't get it to work 😮💨 The Profile section does not recognise the game or events. Do you remember how you received the game calls from the game in to wwise? I try to look for information but I can't find it 😓.
I’ll have to make a video regarding this when I have time as I’m not sure I can explain it quickly over a comment. There is some good resources out there already and on the audiokinetic website so good luck with your hunt in the meantime!
I am in my 40's and work in the IT field. I've always had a passion for audio engineering and sound design and am wanting to potentially make a career switch over time. Are you finding work with this demo reel? Would you recommend the school of video game audio? Thanks.
Hey hey! Yup I landed a job at Electronic Arts although it required more than just this reel. School of Video Game Audio was a huge help in giving me a trajectory on what to learn and helped me build up a bit of a community. You get what you put in though as it’s a very self directed course. Not gonna sugarcoat It, it can take some time to break in so make sure you don’t burn yourself out while pursuing this career and just plug away at it if it’s what you truly want.
@@markbergsoundThanks for the response! If you don't mind me asking, outside of this reel what did you need to get hired? How are you liking the job and what is it? Are you happy with your career choice? I am under no delusions that it isn't a long shot, but it is what I want to do.
Great efforts mate!! actually since childhood I'm very much intregeged about games and wanted to enter in the industry!! But don't know what the proper channel!! If you could help me out or tell me something it will me much appreciated, a small brief about me is I'm a Film Composer/Singer worked on variety of projects and much of my work has been appreciated in places like the USA, Spain, Dubai, San Francisco, etc I hold the position of Head of Post and Sound Department!! Would love to connect buddy!! Even though I'm 22 still always gets excited while playing games GOW, Assassins Creed, Mario,, Takken and what not!!
Thanks! Ya the game industry is definitely unique as you have to learn how non-linear audio works compared to the linear audio pipeline you may be used to from the film industry. Take some time to explore how audio is put into games and choose a game engine to try and implement some sounds in and go from there. It’s a huge topic in itself so if you are just starting out do some research on the different types of sound design roles and then build up a portfolio that helps set you apart. Also take a look at the job requirements your ideal game company may have and learn the skills that you are missing.
everything from the video editing and narration to the sound design and recording and implementing is pretty freakin insanely amazin. love the global lowpass trigger
Hi! I've got a question. How and where did you learn to code a Postevent scripts for the animations or switches etc?I'm working on a similar demo but I'm struggling to find some good tutorials on making essential PostEvent scripts.. I would appreciate the help...
I would recommend going through the audio kinetic tutorials. They teach you the basics to get Wwise integrated in Unity. This demo reel I made while enrolled at School of Video Game Audio so they had all the events set up for me already which was handy.
I just got interested in sound designing for games and using Wwise. I love this video! Great sounds and so cool to see how you use your creativity! Loved the musical pad for the teleport!!
I'm trying to get into sound design and I've been working in Logic too! Your stuff sounds really great and I really enjoyed seeing your workflow and organization!

Thanks Dane! Ya Wwise is very powerful and I keep finding new things about it :)
Hey man, loved this. What I'd ask is where you got the game to even begin implementing the sounds?
It’s free in the Unity asset store :)
Fantastic Video! Thanks for the upload and for sharing your way of working...
