This is perfect! It's a question I have had for a while but haven't thought to look it up online. No worries about the music not making, the video was great. Production value was top notch and the information was great. Definitely following along on this channel, looking forward to more awesome stuff.
Great video on Cine4 and SLOG3. I have a Sony A73 and definitely been figuring out which picture profile I am recommending using while filming and vlogging. Keep up the great work!!!
@@MichaelYoungKim turn on your zebras. I'm not sure what value it should be at if using slog, it might be 85 or 100, but I'll have to look into it. I think it's around 85ish. You can test it yourself by pointing the camera towards a lightbulb or the sun and you should know that the point of light is overexposed. Then adjust the zebras until they just don't appear anymore.. you'll know that over that value, it doesn't work... Hard to explain. Hopefully that makes sense?
I would actually recommend SLog2 instead of Slog3. Slog3 is a bit too much and I think that is not the best. It might be good to use it the camera could shoot raw/uncompressed video or have a higher bitrate. After testing it seems like SLog2 would be the best choice. But yes, use SLog2 in bright conditions, over exposing as much as possible just before clipping. And use cine4 in lower light conditions. NEVER change the ISO in SLog2. If you find yourself that you have to, and can't get +2 stops, it's too dark, use Cine4.
Correct. Use cine4 for dark lighting and use SLog 2 for bright / daylight conditions. Do not adjust the iso of a slog beyond its native ISO. However you should not use a slog if you do not know how to grade as it does require a lot of work to get a proper looking image. So if you are unfamiliar it's better to just use cine4 until you know how to properly grade or you could end up ruining your footage.
allsmooshed no body loves me 😂 I feel the same with my Instagram though. A lot of people tell me I have an insanely low amount of followers. But I think the reason is that I post whether I can. I don't let posting things just because. I like to produce quality content. And the problem is, I am not always out traveling and doing things on a regular to be consistent. It's a goal of mine, but it's a slow process. I know what I love and I continue doing it. I won't be posting garbage, so many people don't follow our subscription as it's not worth it. Over time as I get better, I will have more content to put out to be consistent and hopefully I will get noticed better. Thanks though!
allsmooshed I normally edit on premiere. But for this video I edited in Resolve because I wanted to be able to bed now flexible with the color grading... Although I've never used it before. But I just got Magic Bullet Suite for Premiere, so I'm going back to premiere. If I ever need a heavy grade (only when I'm using a professional camera) then I'll most likely color correct in Resolve and transfer footage to premiere to edit, so working backwards
What kind of issues are you referring to? I haven't noticed anything. I shoot SLog2 most of the time and Cine4 in low light where I can't exposure for 2+ stops over
Added a few notes in the video description :)
Any questions about Cine4 vs Slog3, just ask!!
Your production quality for each video is so so good, Keep smashing it mate!
Kiwimcmc I try 😋

Nice, simple and helpful video, i just switch over to sony a7iii from canon 80D. There is alot of new thing to learn
This was really good man!
Hi bro in slog we have to overexposed but what about cine 4 please help me
No, just expose it normally in cine4
Do not over expose the image like slog
Your onboard mic sound was great! Btw for Cine4 do you just expose to 0?
Cine 4, expose for 0, correct.
SLog2/3 expose for 2+. As bright as possible too the point just before clipping. I recommend slog 2
Michael Frymus thank you for swift reply. How would you check clippings for slog2?

Hi so slog3 daytime, cine 4 lowlight? Btw nice tips and I will watching you :)

Michael Frymus ok I got it :) my new 6500 will arrive tomorrow, I can’t wait. Your Channel is a gold for me already :)
@@michaelfrymus im exploring my a7iii, when shooting slog3, can i increase the iso to overexpose to +2 ?
So ur conlusion: Cine4 for night shot and Slog for daylight shot?

i really enjoy this and i believe subs dont matter that much.. its so much cooler to have a few people which truly are Happy about new videos!
If you are filming at 60 or 120fps do you notice any issues with Cine4 or Slog3?

@@michaelfrymus when you say low light, like at night? Or in the shadows like under the trees and about to rain? Pls enlighten me
Try slog 2. Slog 3 its for 10bit prefer
Yes, you should use SLog2.
I've mentioned in bio and comments below as an update :)
your friend needs to work on learning how to shoot a basketball 🤦♂️ other than that, love the video!
It was all done on purpose haha. Told him to miss all the shots to make it funny
You're the first person to point it out through 😂
Wow! Equally good? I dont know! 😂
??
Michael Frymus I guess Im uneducated on the technical aspect of filming 😂😂😂
