  • Can AI solve a real-world data challenge in Microsoft Excel? We’ll see!
In this demo, Copilot will take on the Maven Rail Challenge and play the role of a BI Developer for National Rail, a company that provides business services to passenger train operators in the UK.
By only using natural language prompts it’ll attempt to perform these 4 analyses for a dashboard:
    1. Identify the most popular routes
    2. Determine peak travel times
    3. Analyze revenue from different ticket types & classes
    4. Diagnose on-time performance and contributing factors
Will Copilot have what it takes, or will a human data analyst need to be involved?
You’ll be surprised at the results!

Something I noticed with this data which some might have picked up on, but a majority may not have noticed.
Many have put the number of delays just based on the field = delayed. If you look further and see any trains delayed, and look at the difference in the Actual Arrival Time - Arrival Time, you will find that some are actually on time (0 minutes delayed) which brings 2 questions. What is considered a delay? (Being from NY, if the LIRR is within 6 minutes from the departure time, it is considered on time)
So should these "delays" be categorized as "on time", and if that's the case, is there a threshold where a delay is actually a delay (greater than 10 minutes or so?)
Same with refund requests with trains delayed 15 minutes or less (from what I saw on the UK railway site, if a train is more than 15 minutes late, eligible for a refund, but don't know too much about this).
These are things that I don't believe AI can figure out because of the intuition logic, at least not yet.
Great features though and thanks for this output

You need a Microsoft 365 subscription AND a Copilot Pro subscription.
