Thank you Alex. I still have faith in Kylotonn can change the direction. Wheel rotation should be still improved massively but theyre going right direction atleast. Also the fact Ibiza has map assets gives me hopes. Improve the wheel rotation, give us full Ibiza and add our beloved TDU features, some technical fixes and stuff and the TDU we know is back.
At 7:35, if TDU adds a fuel system, there should be a second option to disable fuel consumption at gas stations. For example, if I’m low on fuel but just want to cruise without worrying about the fuel gauge, I could stop at a gas station, fill up, and then toggle the fuel system off right there. This way, it keeps the immersion intact and avoids the need for an options menu toggle, which could be easily exploited. Refueling at gas stations would still be fun and immersive, but having this option at the station itself adds flexibility without breaking the experience.
this feels like they have a very few veteran devs to help figure these stuff out, everything feels like they designed it based on something, probably an input device like a wheel instead of having everything lined up to work as intended regardless of what input device is driving the handling and animation which would make sense as to why controllers and wheels are given priority
Thanks for this Alex! Got a guide on how to stop the game crashing after about 6 mins? I never had game crashes before Ibiza update but now I can’t play the game :(
I love the ocean glitch in Ibiza where you can drive on the ocean ground without water and you can find all sorts of dev props (biomes and plants etc. for copy paste) left behind and the power lines in the middle of the water 😭
When using a wheel on this game, steering sensitivity should be set to 0.0 for a 1:1 scale. An audi R8 does not have a 900 degree steering angle, that's why at 900 you need to cross hands. If you want a quicker steering rack then you should lower the steering angle, not increase sensitivity. 720 would be better for a R8. What would be best for this game is for the user to set their wheels maximum steering angle and then for the game to know the real world angle of each car and automatically adjust it keeping the 1:1 scale using 0.0 sensitivity. Unfortunately at the moment, this game requires you to know yourself what the steering angle of each car is in real life, and then for you to manually adjust it yourself in settings each time you pick a car if you want a true to life experience.
I love this game, been playing test drive since test drive 2 the duel on amiga. I just feel this was developed for controller use . I bought tdsc on pc first to use with my wheel, and then bought it on xbox to play with controller , which I'm having more of a casual fun time with. It would also be good if I could sync both accounts. im busy with work , so I don't have the time to complete 2 passes. If the developers can please add auto steering angle for each car to our default wheel angle, then game would take massive strides forward. Love the channel , keep up the great content.
The animation of crossing your hands during cornering is a bit too early imo. So we end up with the hand hovering and not gripping. It's definitely not an easy thing to animate. The crew might be a good reference for this. It looks fine overall in that game. Tdu looks jarring or unfinished with the hand hovering over the wheel but not gripping it and the agressive recentering and stiff looking animation (if there is any) when driving straight. I don't think they have an animation for the "feedback" you get from the road. Maybe blending that with the current animation would make things look more natural.
What I get from your video, is that the steering wheel default sensitivity is too low. They should consider having a look at it and maybe changing the default value.
I spent a while testing settings on my fanatec csl dd for this game and for the 900 digree steering to match in game when ur sensitivity is raised, u have to check on reduced interval for the left and right steering controls
Are they doing anything to improve the graphics? I don't know, man. The colors and reflection on the cars look very bad, if you compare them to Forza Horizon and The Crew Motorfest. I like this game, but there's a lot that's still not there...
No idea, I think it apparently helps with crashes on PS5 but idk. I only heard about the apparent thing through someone who has a ps5 that told me. that patch was ps5 only tho
Hi Alex, I wanted to play on my moza r5 url, but I had a problem, I can’t set the degree value to more than 360, for some reason this item is not available for change. Have you encountered such a problem?
Hi Alex. I'm using a PS5 controller and I don't have your settings because ur using a wheel. Can you do a vid on how to set the controls for steering on a ps5 controller? Thx.
this is something about speeding. Solution is very easy. Kylotonn need to change the sensitivity of the wheel automatically. For example 10-50 km/h speed it need to be 0.00, 50-100 km/h speed need to be 1.00 and like that. I think it work like that irl
they already have that implemented on controller for animation. The issue is just the animation is behind the reality. On wheel it works perfectly fine though
Must modern cars have speed sensitive steering irl to make right turns easier at slow speeds and so you don't flip over at motorway speeds. 900 degrees is what you might expect in a 2CV.
Heey alex I saw an idea in a video about tdusc and I really would like your opinion on the possibility of having it in the future (I copied and pasted the comment) Hi friend. We need to push for a “tour mode” in tdusc, racing is so boring. Imagine a tour mode that the player would be able to choose some cars to followe him in a beautiful ride around the island. A tour mode that we can choose even the colors. TOUR MODE would be the best thing ever. We are tired of racing.
I already sent that idea to KT and Nacon :) Not sure if it will happen 100% or anytime soon, as imo there are other priorities, but its a cool idea for sure
@@TheAlexVII thank youu I really hope it happens sometime in the future I typically prefer to play alone and that would be such a nice thing to just chill and cruise
I commend your commitment to this dumpster fire, Thanks for the info. Also using the G Pro, while your settings did make things better, I still find it completely unplayable with a wheel at the moment.
it depends. If you are accelerating it should snap back to the center faster than if you're not. If you're stationary, it should stay still. Self aligning torque will change how that works. I go into a lot more detail in my old steering settings video though. If you need more explanations beyond that lemme know I'll try my best in these replies :)
@ nah I just wondered. My testarossa 86 hasn’t got power assisted steering so yeah i would have to cross steering using force just to work parallel parking. It’s a heavy car anyway.
I'm not a pro but with the help of POV driver videos, wiki, web searching and an AI, currently I have this conclusion: crossing arms or not - it depends on an installed steering system. in short, there are fixed ratio steering systems (on cheaper cars, when with a constant angular velocity of a steering wheel turning, the front wheels turn with a different but ALSO CONSTANT angular velocity) and variable ratio steering systems - the more sophisticated engineering solutions for the comfortable driving (it's about more expensive cars, when with a constant angular velocity of a steering wheel turning, the front wheels turn with a different AND VARIABLE angular velocity). the engineers may chose a slower steering response closer to the center of steering angle to lower the risk of oversteering (for Grand tourer cars - cars for long-distance driving or for trucks) and a faster steering response closer to the center of steering angle for a sport style driving (where there's a regular need in a fast maneuvering). I do not know a game that is able to visualize the variable ratio steering correctly (but I did not try "every" car game). TDUSC did almost a good job. they only need to ALWAYS apply a '0' axis sensitivity and a '0' dead zone to separately animate a virtual steering wheel (this will guarantee a 1:1 match with a physical steering wheel controller) and apply a player's axis sensitivity settings (which may be positive, zero or negative - a player decides depends on driving style and a chosen wheel travel range such as 1080/900/720/540/450/360/340 degrees) as a filter to animate the front wheels and as an input for physics.
forgot to mention that for cheaper cars, where the steering system was designed for a fixed ratio, there may be a need in crossing arms for such maneuvers like a simple turn on a crossroad
drifting still my biggest worry! i can’t with my steering wheel, i tried to change a lot of settings but just can’t, a bit frustrated🙂↕️ anyway good video alex! i wish you the best!! 🙏🏽
@ i try to stick to the same angle when i start to drift but my car go in the opposite way in a seconde i started to, i tried your settings too but unfortunately it still remain the same over and over… even with other configuration i’ve seen on youtube (i use a g29 btw)
What if instead of increasing sensitivity you reduce rotation to 540 degrees which is closer to real life... can you film your real life car steering wheel rotation limit for comparison?
135i - 900 Focus rs - 720 Lancer gts - 900 Are some of the cars I had driven in recent years that I can remember. Because each car is indeed different in real life, I just set my wheel to 900 and change the sens so it works for all cars how I’d like it. I like having a longer range in my rotation anyway, especially for drifting. I know I can decrease the range as another option though, it’s just not what I personally want.
The fact that something as basic as a proper sensitivity curve (that was complained about during open beta) is still so complicated and improper is super embarrassing
Something is wrong with new steering wheel animation. I am a Xbox series X Pad Player. Before Season 2 update wheel animation was better. I know 90 degree intersection turning looks so nice and I love it, but the problem is when you drive straight or take small corners. There is a lack of animation !!! Steering Wheel is jumping from side to side, sometimes flickers. If somebody plays in Cybepunk 2077 or Granturismo 7, ETS2, knows that in that games everything is so smooth, specially in small movements. I tried every settings with dead zone and degrees. Developers should solve this problem. Maybe somebody could write to them. I don`t know where and how. Yesterday I have solved a little bit this problem. If you have the problem - try to connect Xbox Pad to USB Cable. There is a little bit lower latecy. But the problem still is. Best settings (for me) : Sensivity -0.10, Dead Zone 0, Wheel Degrees 800.
All they had to do is add 1 ranked race in ibiza and it would have been a good temporary fix for that broken system, but noooo that makes too much sense
adding 1 ranked race on Ibiza isn't going to fix anything. They need to improve the actual network matchmaking, and create a 'playlist' for ranked races launchable at the solar hotel and also improve the concept of ranked. Crossplay will help a lot with that as well.
I really hope they manage to bring this game to a good level.
Same, it's gonna take some time, but I think down the road if they continue to work hard and listen to us, its possible
It'll be good by the time it gets taken off the stores, because that's when we get the promised big offline patch.
