OMG, two administrations later and these engagements haven’t aged…We *thrive* on Fran’s singular delight in being Fran, and listening to her doing so is forever a pleasure. Fran’s wit and comedy are second only to her dazzling command of the language. Pure joy!
It was a facetious remark! You do not need to take it literally. Her sharp witticisms are self-explanatory. You are overstating the obvious which is banal.
The verb version is wrong, especially when you consider it not used. Even if it's a rule, what matters is what is in use. The rule eventually becomes a historical artifact destined to die out.
When are you returning to San Francisco to speak? How would one determine if he or she had talent as a writer? Always a learning experience to listen to you Fran.
I love that she has a Checker Marathon. The only car that would be more perfect would be a Hudson Hornet but she never mastered a typewriter so a standard might have been a challenge. And she needs a new mechanic, rigging up a fuse is not rocket science.

jake frost she doesnt tell "jokes". The reason for similarities is because the ones that are available are from 2012-ish when the Scorsese doc came out.
I've long admired Fran Lebowitz, although never agree 100%. But to find out she's a car woman...gives me a whole NEW LEVEL OF RESPECT!!! Men, if you meet a woman who loves cars....you better grab her, and never let her go!!! Your undercarriage will thank you! 😎🤣
I've only just discovered this lady and I can't get enough of her. I'm not even sure why. She's so cool.
Ditto that. Binge UTubing. My brother said “classic” when I sent him a link. True that.
@@kkpaine I love that someone referred to her as Oscar Wilde's love child. 😎
She is an irreverent New Yorker intellectual WIT. I can assure everyone that for New Yorkers this is not unusual. 😉
Original, authentic, funny and brilliant! I’ve known about her but with UA-cam- there she is!
I think it’s because she has a keen intellect and a sharp tongue, and she isn’t afraid to use both.
“Why is Richard always here?” “He’s my husband, he lives here.” 😂

Fran Lebowitz is a legend.
Fran is the best.
she should be on comedians in cars getting coffee with jerry or her driving the checker around nyc
+kliff klug Jews in Cars Getting Coffee
yesss, that would be perfect!
Hell yeah! 👏👏👏
BRILLIANT!!!! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!! I bet Jerry would love to drive her car too!!! 👏👏
AGREED! Write Jerry on that one.
Thanks for sharing this, I love Fran Liebowitz, she is brilliant. This is a great quality video. Thanks again!
Fran has her way of looking at the world and she's sticking to it. We might be better off if more of us followed her lead.
I love this woman.
"If you eat donuts, you've obviously thrown caution to the wind."

@@purenkool2024 Your thesaurus is showing. It’s just a quote without context.
She is so funny and authentic . I love the way she thinks,
You can always count on Fran to be the real deal. Would love to hang out with her.
In Catholic we were taught the word ‘practice’ had two spellings . As a noun, it was spelled ‘practice’. As a verb, it was ‘practise’ .
The verb version is wrong, especially when you consider it not used. Even if it's a rule, what matters is what is in use. The rule eventually becomes a historical artifact destined to die out.
Ironic considering that “practice” essentially *means* verb. The practice of medicine, practicing religion. It just means doing.
Thanks for the video. Fran always makes me laugh and think. I hope this is grammatically correct.
Let's trend #franlebowitzforpresident2020 💙
lol. listen to her stuff on popularity and presidents. NO, we are not running Fran for president.
I've seen a bunch of videos with Fran, but she sure was "on" in this one. Very very funny.
Fran, you make me laugh...with the whole catholics and grammar stick.
The Checker body style was from the 50' not 30's
When are you returning to San Francisco to speak? How would one determine if he or she had talent as a writer? Always a learning experience to listen to you Fran.
I had a very old Mercedes and I know what she means. Wish I had found a mechanic who knew how to fix it without ripping me off.
she was right about florida
Absolutely brilliant
So smart
Nowwwwwwww I love Fran Lebowitz!

Yes, it should have been possible to adapt another fuse.
It's said that NYers are fueling the engine over there so l was curious what her response would had been, Y?
absolutely brilliant !!!
She could have been a stand up comedian.
I know she's sitting down, but what do you think she's doing??
She’s a humorist, but not a comic.
They should re publish her books for us,,
Seriously??? They have never gone out of print. Did you check out Amazon?
You probably could have found the fuse on eBay.
Cute repartee😃

I love you!
I don't know why she thinks the body design of her car is from the 1930s. I've heard her say this before, but it is definitely from the 50s.

...should be in an anthology called "voices from the closet"....
If you ever get the opportunity to go see her speak, do!
Fran's experience in buying the fuse is like the Navy's experience in buying a toilet seat.
l was waiting for a question on Palestine.
why?
Because its important. Jews should be the vanguard in the fight against the fascist Israeli state like Dr Norman Finkelstein and Noam Chomsky.
Did Interview Magazine somehow make the situation worse in the 70s via her columns?
wonder woman... right there.
*I don´t get why american people chew gum.*
Amazing woman
Fran, once is a great while . . you are wrong. This was the great while!

She repeats the same jokes in all of her interviews....
jake frost she doesnt tell "jokes". The reason for similarities is because the ones that are available are from 2012-ish when the Scorsese doc came out.
We all have limitations... it is called the “human condition”. She is a writer not a comedian.
Cause people ask her the same questions for 40 years...duh

That being said....no woman will ever REALLY understand the ElCamino! 🤣🤣
She is also a gay woman.
Why is that important?
She may not want a man to grab her.
She purports to be a member of the LBGBTQ community.
If you think about it, she’s 100% original, brillant, superb!
