I agree!!! And we're blessed that when they pore the "new" foundation in concrete, A Stone Mason will attach the original rock to concrete so it will look all original & not like a sad concrete fix (like the add on concrete porch a previous owner did)
I just bought 122 year old home in York Pennsylvania 2400 sq ft 3 floors high all brick. Had it inspected x2 both appraised as nothing Structurally wrong with the Structure is sound. Full Basement looks good and feels good to be in
Thats awesome!!!! I'm so happy to hear your beautiful old house is strong & sound! I'm sure you'll keep it that way too! I bet its just gorgeous!!! I love old houses! I pray you & family find love & joy building new memories in your century home!!
@@deannaloudon1205 Yes I pray to as well. In York PA it was the best home on the Market there especially in a good area. Prices out there are getting crazy. I purchased it at the best price
So happy you found a great home at a great price! 👍 We've seen a crazy jump in house prices in Missouri too! Great time to sell - not so great for buying. 😁😁
We have the same issue ! Good job ! We’re doing our own ugg
Wishing you all the best with your foundation project. ❤️ our contractor & subs did a great job & we're very happy with the outside finish.

Oh man that’s a big job! What’s it gonna cost?
We don't have all the final bills yet, its been going on for over 4 months now & like most old house projects there have been many many surprises along the way & I tried to video document the entire journey to date ... the job was bid at 10,000.00 before we started
@@deannaloudon1205 that actually sounds "reasonable" especially in this market! I just started closing on an old house and am anticipating foundation repairs and I'm terrified so please keep us all updated!!
@@navymed3 absolutely! Welcome to the old home club!! This bid was made over 1 year ago, with supplies & labor the way it is, it just took that long to get the project going. I will keep you posted! And you please do the same! I still ❤ our old home - its a labor of love!! If you'd like to see the rest of the progress & other surprises thus far - the video series is in the "at home adventurez" play list... take care!
How much was the final cost?
A few dollars shy of $10,000 ... we ended up with 2 unexpected costs, a tree removal & main waterline replacement... the new gas line we already knew would need replaced..
@@deannaloudon1205 thank you so much for the quick reply and the information!
No information about repair just your life story about your house which is nice but not helping me
Check out the other parts. This project spanned out over months & I recorded & uploaded as it happened. Good luck with your foundatuon project, I hope you find the information you're looking for even if it's not with me. 👍😉
Just the facts ma’am just the fax don’t forget we’re talking about 110 year old foundation that has nothing to do with stoves and windows and doors weather and cats or any of that stuff it has to do with foundation just the fax ma’am just the fax I don’t have six months to listen to your description of your house
Thanks for your time to leave a comment sir.
Are you a contractor?
Fortunately for the viewer it's just an 11 minute video with the ability to fast forward through any info deemed unnecessary (I dont recall talking a lot about windows or a stove). For anyone else reading this comment it won't take you 6 months to watch this video clip or the series that I recorded for posterity which sums up a 4 month process & hundreds of hours of work.
And it's facts - not fax ...
@@deannaloudon1205 I so enjoyed this whole video and even unpainted trim, all the bits, info on side walks too.
Mine are heaved up and craped by tree roots. I bought a 120 yr old house and some fieldstone toppled and floor sank. This gives me courage. I love my old house too.
@@teresalundquist2191 wowza!! Sounds like your house is full of fabulous history & old craftsmanship too! Owning an old house is a labor of love indeed. I hope you find joy in the journey of being the keeper of your home for future generations to come. We recently toured Bath North Carolina & got to visit an original founding home in the City built in 1790. It was wonderful to see an old home so well preserved. 😊
Stone foundation that's part of the original house is so cool!
