This particular Guru Pooja is known as Shodashopachara, which refers to sixteen ways of welcoming a Guru. Far from being a religious ritual, Guru Pooja is a way of using emotion as a tool and involves a certain reorientation of one’s energies, which can bring a different quality into your life if practiced on a regular basis. This is not from Isha. It's the version chanted in the lineage of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, Guru of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and also Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Start at 2:32. The red actual words at top say "Brahmananda Saraswatim", but the translation says "...my guru, Brahama (incorrect). For proof, access "Jay Guru Deva movie 1952". The correct words are given along with pics of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati. For another bio, access Swami Brahmananda Sarasvati, (Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath". This is the same "Guru Dev". mentioned in the Beatles song "Around the Universe.".
When we enter into geniune spiritual dimension there is no difference between guru . This guru mantra is chanted in my house having guru pooja so its same all across india...also when mantra is exactly same and this is not translated literally but loosely..this guru mantra can be only initated by any enlightened one.

This guru pooja is exactly same as the shankarcharys of jyotir math chant. where they invoke "Bramanada saraswati" who is one among the enlightened shakarachryas. why did you skip that in the translation at 2.32?
and the original one says "Bramanada Saraswatim Guruvaram Dhyayami Jyothirmayam" which was changed to "Bramanada Saaraswatim cha Shri Bramham"🙂

I have been chanting this for years and maybe my pronunciation isn't perfect but nobody has every said it could be harmful?
If you talk to a Isha member or ask the support team, they would advise againts it. As how it would be harmful, i do not know and they dint mention.

You won't die or something but these energies are very specific and you will offer different energies as an invitation in your system if chanted incorrectly, if you want to have the best connection with your Guru it's best to get the pronunciation as close to the way this Puja was designed.
Also I can say by experience when you chant something wrong for a long time it's much harder to get it right afterwards.

Is that a typing mistake on Vyasam Shukam *gaud-Padam* mahanta. I am referencing Gaudpadam in Sanskrit lipi. Its written as Paadam while you are saying padam??? I have seen this even on Sanskrit channel. Genuinely asking.

It is very well pronounced though , as learnt in the GP advanced programme, not perfect but even the one in the app we are advised not to listen anymore as it's still inaccurate in some parts (AchamIyam for example)
