I make money often from them but it’s usually their mistakes I get them on. For example this week I bought a gameboy game with a boxed but the guy sold it to me unboxed cause I said the box was damaged(it was just flattened). I folded it back together and took to another Cex and traded it in box for about £20 profit. Also they sold me Zelda:LA DX for the non color price which was £25 cheaper. I’m usually a honest customer but they’ve screwed me around so many times I love catching them out. They make enough money from me lol
Great video and something I do constantly, taking charity shop and carboot finds into cex get 10x my money spent on vouchers then sell rare movies and games on ebay. Some blurays go for rediculous amounts on ebay compared to what cex charge for them so I rinse and repeat, some titles I've sold tens of times all paid for by cex themselves 😂
Facebook marketplace is my go to. The amount of Xbox 360's and ps3's I have bought on there is mental. I sell them on most of the time. Kept the odd thing for myself.
Sometimes Limited Editions can be the same price as normal versions too, found Dark Souls LE for Xbox 360 (comes with art book, cd/dvd) and it was £8 like the normal version. Probably only worth up to double that but still, nice finds to be had :)
Definitely gotta be a certain type of strange to be working in cex, why would you ask a customer why they’re buying something lol? It’s like they purposely try and make it awkward either that or they just have zero social skills
Doesn’t look like anyone is paying those buy it now prices on eBay though, so looks more like sellers overpricing (common on eBay), there are also tonnes of listings so doesn’t look to be rare or hard to find at all. Plus, one of the listings you showed was a USA listing auto converting the price from dollars, that’ll always appear inflated to UK users. I don’t think this is a case of CEX being behind, more that they have data that shows at what the most common price point that game sells for and adjusting from there based on availability.
There are some really strange staff in CeX, it really is like no shop I have ever purchased goods from before. The worst kind are the clueless ones, where you bring a load of goods in to trade in and you know better than they do what they are looking for on the system.
Caught cex sleeping recently. There was a senran ps4 game cex had for 12 quid. Got the last 2 in stock at the time and has now gone up to 18 within a week of me getting them for 12 quid.
Yeah I can done this, have a watch list of some underpriced games and when/if they go in stock I am ready with vouchers to pounce. Normally like to gain at least £10 after fees and postage for it to be worth it. Did buy a gbc game recently for £42 and sold for £120 so that was pretty cool. Never usually in stock though
CeX staff are either super friendly and chatty or obnoxious and judgemental from my experience. I've used them to sell a lot these past couple months. Through voucher credit alone since March, I've bought a PlayStation 3 Super Slim, almost every Crash Bandicoot game, the new Mario Rabbids game, and other stuff like the Xbox 360 Dreamcast Collection and Tekken Hybrid. It's a pretty great feeling getting rid of stuff, making a profit and walking away with new games essentially for free 😁👍
I recently picked up a copy of starwing unboxed price with box and manual no insert from my local cex with a 6 pound voucher, i took it home and ironed the box and replaced the insert then i went back to the same cex the next day and got a 13 pound voucher for it.
Great content, as always! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Teslagrad on the Wii U is very rare at CeX I managed to snag a copy few months back for £55 sold it for £90 after fees. This is fee and far between but a nice profit none the less.
i do what you did and might find something thats slighty cheap but keep most things for collection, just not worth the effort, charity shops, car boots all list stuff now so hard to get any finds now now
I was in the Harrow on the hill cex branch today and xbox 360 games are starting to dissappear, they only had three shelves of xbox 360 games. I don't see a bright future for cex.
I would be a tiny bit tempted if they still stocked PS1/PS2 but I just cba to collect/traded Xbox360/PS3 up. I became interested in retro collecting too late tbh, although thank god I bought most of my collection before the crazy Covid spikes.
Mine and a fair few CEX stores still stock PS2 and PS1. Mine has a pretty decent PS2 section as it happens. PS1 is always thin on the ground. I put that down to flimsy cases
@@TVMReviews lucky i'm in Bedfordshire and checked MK too and none stock them any longer (for years now :( ) so had to grab all my stuff from ebay as FB marketplace wasn't a thing back then - yeah PS1 and Dreamcast jewel cases just fall to bits!
It can be very time-consuming. I took a step back recently as I was spending pretty much all of my free time buying, selling, and trading. It is very rewarding, though. Made well over a thousand pounds in cex credit over the last year and a half, which hasn't cost me anything. Also made money on top of that from selling on ebay.
it can be but then if you only treat it as a hobby and limit yourself to 20 minutes in the store, you can cut down the time you spend and still get the odd deal
@@TVMReviews haha yeah I know, I meant doing it as a means of income just isn’t viable but I suppose it your already going in there anyway it’s worth a look

This is also true. Just need to watch out for the ones that had DLC that wasn't included on the disc. I've been caught by that once or twice
0:22 thought you were going to say stealing 😂
So did I 😂

Based on this individual I'll go with the latter
I has the same thing, I was buying a bluray and he said you shouldn't buy it as its a bad movie. I was like what the hell 🤣

TVM needs to bring back some classic facial expressions in the thumbnails for CEX credit

I would love to start doing what you are doing, is it time consuming finding good deals and looking in CEX

Of course it’s time consuming, and for very little profit, would make more money working in McDonald’s

This is over now no more ppl buy games any more its online all the time now
There are plenty of games and products that CeX is behind of the price on. And I have used it a few times.
