Thanks for taking the time to do this video. I ordered some bars for my '05 and they came with zero instructions. I appreciate the step by step video with notes. You rock!
Oh man thank you!!! I’ve had so many people ask..I just found one in my big bolt box and I didn’t have time to measure and check the size and thread pitch..I will print it in the description …God Bless you and thank you😇
Great video! I miss my 04 V-Rod Black and Orange, most reliable motorcycle I’ve ever owned.i did this install back in 06 and you made it look a lot easier than I remember. I’m really considering finding a decent 2011 Night Rod Special. 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice video, got some square styled engine gaurds for my vrod muscle from Germany. Unfortunately can't find anyone in Georgia that knows how to install them. This video definitely helps.
I’m glad this helps. I’m down in south Florida. Send me a picture if you like how they turned out. My email is paulk.asemaster@gmail.com Thanks for watching and commenting
Thanks for watching. Yeah Gabby my daughter took the Vrod to “Ride like a Pro” so I installed these before the class. Good thing too because she dropped it twice! The crash bars did their job no damage👍
that's awesome. if you want to remove the bars now that all other parts are already on it. is it possible to equip and unequip without removing the foot controls? or do you still need to remove the foot controls to remove the bar only? Also ain't this a muscle instead of a Night rod as it has a exhaust on the left side? Thanks!
Finally got a decent day out in the garage to get this started but it turns out that my crash bar kit did not come with the center bolt for the upper support above the radiator. Any chance you know the bolt size or can tell me how to look this up?
@@paulkmaster3231 Thanks! I’m thinking that the length can be a lot shorter than that since the threaded lug that’s welded to the frame’s upper forward tube is very short. 50mm is probably longer than needed, IMO. I bought a M10x1.5x45 hex head bolt yesterday and couldn’t get the bolt head past the radiator flange. Today, I’ll exchange it for a socket head cap screw which has a much smaller bolt head. Thanks for the response! Much appreciated!
I have the 2011 V-Rod Muscle and the middle rusty hole between the Radiator you’re referring mine it’s just a hole can’t screw up the bolt! It’s just a plain hole. Any suggestions?? If I use the longer screw and bolt it down would it be safe and secure?? Please advise Thank you.
Are you sure there is not any threads because it fooled me too... by shear luck I found a bolt in my bolt bucket that’s screwed in. I didn’t have a pitch gauge or anything to measure threads so I can’t tell you what size it was. I’m pretty sure it was a metric bolt though but I wouldn’t bet my life on it. Sorry I couldn’t give more info
Very sorry I’m not sure. I was pissed because I have tons of bolts in my shed working on cars. It was literally the last bolt I checked. Don’t know if it was metric or standard I didn’t have a thread counter at home only at my job. I remembered the hole was a little rusty so it confused me but it cinched down perfectly. Most of the bolts on the Vrod are metric but that particular bolt might be standard. Super sorry good luck. I would pull it out and check it for you. But I just traded it in yesterday!!!!
I know why you did it, but personally I wouldn’t want them on my bike unless it was a bagger.. it would look horrible on the RaideR. Be safe my friend, riding season is almost here in NY! As youd imagine i’m missing my bike!
My Bro Joe D thanks for watching. Yeah I made my daughter sign up for “ride like a pro” which is motorcycle officer like training. She insisted on taking the Vrod on this course. I said if she takes the Vrod she has to put on crash bars in case she drops the bike. I told her I would take them off after she completes the course. If they let me I’ll take some videos of the course. Joe you can email me if you want you been with me for a long time now. paulk.asemaster@gmail.com Also I just finally am up on Facebook facebook.com/ellis.paulk.526
That’s basically what I did with my 04 V-Rod. It started with the engine guard, then saddlebags, touring seats, different headlight and a bigger sissy bar, but no front fairing, I had a detachable windshield if I was going to go for a 500-1,200 mile trip. 👍🏻👍🏻 ua-cam.com/video/COodM8LCLf8/v-deo.html
Thanks for the video never would've figured this out gotta love when something shows up with no instructions

@@larryjverna I’m also looking forward to his return brother😇
For those who needed the bolt size, M10x1.5 and you'll need at least a 60mm length bolt..

Thanks bro!!
What size is that nonmetric bolt?
Same question
That installation looked busy. But the bars look nice.

Great video. What was the size bolt for the topmost bracket. They didn't supply one. Thanks

Nice work brother, if they were on my bike, the Night Rod wouldn't have totalled😭
Yeah the day I put on these crash bars on the Vrod was the day you crashed the Nightrod. Sorry😞
THX!! Was helpful!!!
