It's not the fact that Jimmy got multiple lifetime sentences reduced to 7 years that impressed Kim. It's that he finally told the truth. He was honest about himself to himself and to Kim, the person he loves. He did it because he loves her, and that's how he let her know.
The details about what happened with Chuck’s insurance were also new to Kim. I think it helped her recontextualize what was going on with Jimmy after Chuck’s death. It kinda goes back to when Jimmy gave his fake heartfelt speech to get his license reinstated. She wanted to see him process his grief and was shocked to see it was all fake. Now, years later, she sees him finally being real about what had happened between him and Chuck.
26:57 He is both a legend and probably a legend for giving up an insanly good deal to take credit for a drug kingpin but more than that he spend his entire "known" career helping out convicts and criminals escape justice. "Better call saul" is an anthem for for anyone who rightfully gets in legal trouble.
Walt and Saul are in that scene together while they are staying at the vacuum cleaner sales guy / vanishing for a price man. While the heat was still high for Walt in Breaking Bad the guy wasn't able to move him by the time Saul turned up so they had to stay together. Walt threatened Saul in that scene in Breaking Bad but then fell after having a coughing fit. That's the scene relation.
Much appreciated! We look forward to seeing you again in the future. Yes a journey that was worth finishing. Life happened and when we got things straightened out we got back to it. So worth the time and effort to finish an amazing journey. Thanks Steve
I love how the final episodes not only wrap up BCS but BB as well. This show is a prequel and a sequel which is just amazing. And you guys mentioned it, but its so amazing how both shows are directly connected to each other, while also feeling like two very different shows. The writers are on another level. So happy we finally got to see you guys finish this incredible show up!!
And here we go for the last time with our favorite people from Albuquerque. This show has been quite the journey. It was almost five years ago that I started you on this journey. Hell, I even got to be in 1½ reactions for BB :D When I rank my favorite shows, I always combine Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul into one show. It's set in the same universe, stars many of the same characters, and had the same writing and production staff for the whole run. For personal reasons, LOST is my favorite show of all time (Hi Katie!), but Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul is the best TV show ever made in my opinion. And Better Call Saul elevated the idea of a prequel to a whole other level. They expanded on so many characters and moments, and never contradicted anything of significance. It is an absolute shame that the Emmy committee never recognized this show for its brilliance. The writing, direction, and cinematography certainly should have won some awards, and there are actors who really deserved to win. Jonathan Banks really deserved the Best Supporting actor for season 1 (Five-O) over Peter Dinklage in GoT season 5. Michael McKean was amazing as Chuck and he was never even nominated for supporting actor (though he did get a nom for guest actor in 2019). Giancarlo Esposito simply IS Gus Fring and it seems like every other role he plays is just Gus pretending to be someone else. He is so damned intimidating, especially when he doesn't even say a word. And this last season (amongst others) should have awarded Rhea Seehorn. She was exceptional. And I will single out Bob Odenkirk here. Over the course of this show, he really played 6 different characters: There was Slippin' Jimmy that we saw in the flashbacks before Chuck bailed him out. Next we saw Jimmy McGill, the hard working mail room employee who earned a law degree and passed the Bar in his free time without any help from his brother. Then we see him try to be James M. McGill, Esq. and straddling that ethical line like a world class acrobat. He also got the play the pure Saul Goodman character we knew from Breaking Bad. And while he didn't do it much during this show, he put the sleaze back on with ease and it was glorious. And then we saw two additional characters when this show became a sequel to Breaking Bad. We saw Gene Takovic, a shell of his former self trying to stay out of trouble. In the last few episodes, we saw Gene morphing back into Saul before ultimately getting caught. And it was in this episode that we see the final character that Bob Odenkirk got to play. When he truly confesses to what he did and how important he was to Walter White's crimes, he became James McGill again and accepted the severe punishment for his crimes. Who knows what the rest of Jimmy's life looks like in prison. I'd like to think that he stays the best version of himself, helping those who appear to be truly innocent of their convictions to get a second chance. Thank you Lacey and Steve for taking this journey. And a special shoutout to Sue (if she's watching and reading) for getting them started with watching Better Call Saul. I will never forget your generosity and I am so grateful that you gave me one of your quilts to keep. I feel lucky to have gotten to know you and hope things are going well with you and your family. I'm gonna skip my usual comment with the timestamps. I think I've already directly discussed the specifics of this show enough. For the final episode, the big picture is all that's on my mind.
I agree that BrBa/BCS can be considered just one story told in 125 beautiful episodes (plus the film), only the intro music changed from ep 63 onwards. UwU.
Thank you Craig and obviously Sue one of my absolute favorites I have ever met. Hope you see this! That said Craig yes this was a journey for us personally. Breaking Bad would have never been watched or enjoyed to the level it was without you. There were deep conversations that occurred for many hours over that show with you and I remember them well. Again the journey was amazing and look forward to finding another show that has meaning in the future. Turn The Lights Back On Brother! We are back!❤Steve
Something not mentioned: Saul thought of Oakley when he saw the graffiti because the writing on the wall said "MY LAWYER WILL REAM YOUR ASS" and two episodes earlier he thought Francesca was telling him that Oakley finally came out as gay.
Kim never stopped loving Saul. The only reason she left was that when they are together, they harm others and, of course, her conscience and the misconception that every decision she makes hurts others. That's why she didn't decide anything after that and punished herself with this unworthy life. Now they can't hurt anyone together, so there's no reason for Kim not to seeing Saul. She will continue to visit him. It was such a great ending and I have to say that I didn't really care about Saul's well-being. Kim was important to me in order to end the series happily and that was given to me. The fact that Saul survived in the end and has a good relationship with Kim is the icing on the cake.
See I had a soft spot for Slippin Jimmy. Don’t know why but I did. He deserved worse for all his actions but in the end they wrapped this thing up perfectly. ❤Steve
NO! Thank You! What a beautiful ride. I am so happy we finished this off and looking forward to ranking this show with all the others shows we have watched. Hopefully see you again soon in the comments. ❤Steve
I just want to say thank you so much for reacting to this show! Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are two of my favorite shows of all time, and of all the reactions I’ve watched this channel has been my absolutely favorite. You guys not only seem to enjoy the show but you really put a lot of thought into it. Which is what has kept me wanting to come back for more, seeing how invested you became which in turn made me feel invested as if I was reliving the show all over again. I will admit I was a bit frustrated by all of the long breaks between reactions, not realizing the reasons behind them and since then realizing how petty it was to feel that way. But it’s only because of how much I’ve enjoyed your reactions that I cared so much about wanting you to finish the show, and I’m so glad you did. It’s been a really fun ride and it’s bittersweet that it’s over but again I’m truly thankful for the journey! The two of you are genuinely wonderful people and I hope all is well! I look forward to whatever your next adventure is! =)
Elliot and Gretchen were innocent. It's all Walt projecting his own stupidity. He could have been a billionaire if he could talk to people, but no he always has to scream like a child.
17:36 As answered below, not even close to the same time, he asked Mike the question: when they were stuck together in the desert after Mike saved his life from the crooks trying to steal Lalo's bail money- way before he even met Walter White. Walter and him were temporary roommates at the Vacuum Store before Walt threatened Saul to stay with him as he planned his unfinished business with Todd's Uncle and company.
Thank you. After the episode things become so clear to me. At the time I felt this is what it was but I always second guess things. Sometimes I overthink things and get lost. lol ❤Steve
You two should totally consider watching Mr. Robot now that you finished this show. It’s on par with breaking bad and better call saul for a lot of people. The writing and acting are incredible.
@@EWall1498 Yeah, I don't think it was forever. She regrets ever knowing him, but she does know him. He did the right thing to protect her, and she can let him be a tiny part of her life now. Maybe even as little as a yearly "how are you doing" phone call. But this is what she needed to accept the situation and let herself learn how to move on from here.
Again love the comment thread here. Thats what is so amazing about this show. Our interpretations of what comes after. Kim to me was a very intriguing character. She is fun in some aspect to read. But her character was so amazing to me. ❤Steve
Kim was the one character that Jimmy truly loved and would do anything for and in the end he protected her at the cost of his freedom, kind of like how Walt protected Skyler Im glad I got to experience Breaking Bad, El Camino and Better Call Saul live as they were releasing and being a part of the community. The world that they created means alot to me and im glad you guys enjoyed it and saw it through to the end
Thank you for the kindest words. We are glad you saw this through with us. Now that we’re back it felt good to give this show the attention it deserves. Incredible characters incredibly writing, it’s got the IT factor for me. ❤Steve
Does it make me a bad person because I wanted both Saul & Walter to get away despite the horrible things they did? Probably because they were such charismatic characters.
All I wanted was for Walt's efforts not to be for nothing in the end. I got that, so I'm fine with whatever else happened. Somehow I feel like Saul didn't deserve this much punishment. He never planned to be a criminal, he just works as their lawyer. Of course he was willing to break laws to do that work and deserves some punishment, but it's men like Walt and Gus who truly deserve bad outcomes. You're 100% right about them being charismatic though. If I didn't know who Saul was and heard about a lawyer being involved in all this stuff I'd say life in prison is exactly what he deserves. His charisma is why I somehow feel that he doesn't fully deserve it, even though he kinda does.
lmao, that shirt. What do I like? Guns. What's my political party? Guns. Who do I support? Guns. What are my beliefs? Guns. Who should be president? Guns. What is my hobby? Guns. How many "thin blue line" rejects am I friends with? Guns. How many guns should I own? Guns.
One! lol. That all a person like me needs. That said loved your comment but I am not a weapons nut anymore. I am more a proud veteran of War. I have kids so I respect the weapon. Like they say better to have and not need it then to need it and not have it. ❤Steve Guns
Best ending episode to a serie ever, along with Six Feet Under's, IMO. Seeing everybody, getting what they had to be given... Can't see how this could have been better. Acting, camera works, realisation, everything was stellar. Still can't get over the fact that they won zero Emmy. That's so stupid, IMO. Ah well ! We, the fans, know. Rhea Seehorn, Timothy Dalton and Michael Mando have been my new revelations. They killed it. I already knew Michael McKeown (Chuck), but never really had such an eye opener role as this one for me. All of them were perfect. I miss it so much. That's why I can't stop myself watching reactions to this show. Anyway, thanks for your journey ! Take care :)
Thank you for the wonderful comment. Look forward to seeing you again someday! I haven’t seen 6 feet under but it sounds interesting. We will have to look into some of these shows and often it happens because of the comments. Thank you ❤Steve
Steve- I love your thoughts at the beginning! One of the reasons I love BCS so much is because I think it does a great job of capitalizing on the idea of the passage of time and the idea of life moving on. Maybe this is also aided by having BrBa canonically stitched in, but all these moments in the black and white timeline hit so hard after all the storytelling done in this world!
Love your comment. This was beyond brilliantly written would you not agree? Everything just interwoven and it worked out so well. How these writers pull this off from an imagination standpoint is art in itself. Loved this and hope to see you again in the comments. ❤Steve

Second…the scene with the cigarette showed the shadow rising - the car park showed it descending. So some sense of redemption…
And you know that sort of thing was most likely not accidental. These guys thought of stuff like that with each frame.
Do you think that was on purpose? Deep thoughts here and I love it! ❤Steve
@@DuoReactsyes, it was very intentional to show it rising.

Saul would rather be Saul in prison than Gene in Omaha
