Can you imagine being in the room in Windmill Lane studios 1986 when this masterpiece was recorded? I’m 50 and this song is as a stunning on the 19th February 2024 as it was on March 9th 1987. Incredible and majestic.
I was 15 back in 1988 and it still captivated me and some few teenagers back in our time those who were really into music...I am turning 50 and I have more than ten collections of remixes of this masterpiece❤❤❤. I just cant get enough of this rythym like its embedded into my DNA.
I was a huge fan of U2 going back to the War album and I still remember waiting outside the record store hours before midnight waiting for this release and later, after listening to it. finding out how this album changed my life. thanks for this.....

Goosebumps when I see the Joshua Tree Park accompanied by these notes - a magic and unique phase we can be transported to. Unfortunately U2 are not anymore who they were at THAT time, but we are all work in progress, don’t we.
The beauty about this song is it's only 4 chords: D - A - Bm - G. The Edge used an infinite sustain guitar to ride out those chords but then used delay and a bunch of other effects to create this incredible sound. Like most U2 songs, it's very simple, but it's the adding of all these incredible layers and sounds that really makes this a fantastic song.
