That's a british colonial building close to _dataran merdeka_ (independence square), and the _masjid jamek_ (jamek mosque) which is the spot for the confluence of 2 rivers, now the facade wears that nice and interesting murals depicting common activities during the british rule
Hahah sorry but it feels weird reading the sentence, because malaysians don't refer to kuala lumpur as kuala, akin to let's say americans don't refer to fort worth as fort, but instead we refer to the city as KL, akin to americans referring to los angeles as LA. If we say kuala while referring to a particular town, then we'd mean the royal town of kuala kangsar in the state of perak just north of KL/selangor. And if we say kuala as a general term, then it means river mouth (where a river meets the sea) or where 2 rivers meet and becoming 1, as in the case of KL

Dutch square is in Malacca. A city about 2 hrs away from Kuala Lumpur. The Dutch were there for 183 years.
