Thanks for your terrific tour of the skipjack 90; I just got a used one and your rundown of its features was what I needed. Question: where did you get the removable hatch bags? Are those aftermarket hatches that you installed, and if so, where can I get them? Thanks!
Wise words " Let the need present itself" I own a skip jack 90 as well and I am constantly wondering what I should buy without even knowing if I need it in the first place. Great video. Thanks friend. I will definitely be looking into getting this seat !
Nice! We went up to Portland and went sturgeon fishing this past weekend, we should have the video out by mid January. I liked the fishing in the PNW, what’re you fishing for in WA?
The heavy live well is one. Spent a good amount of time making the thing. Ended up just making my yak too heavy when filled up. After bringing it out a number of times, I found myself not even using it. Also bought a gaff because I saw that lots of kayak fishermen on UA-cam had one. I've never used it because in the usual areas I fish, I've never caught anything that required a gaff. Even though it's a relatively small item, trimming any fat goes a long way. I also bring a lot less tackle than I used to. Everything I need mostly fits in my small tackle box I keep in the hatch.
i looking to get this was looking at others and i like this the best.. looks like yours is the older version but same as the new one just minimal changes, the new ones i like the built in handle so i can tie that down to the car also .. the new ones are like out of stock near me and its 140$ to ship lol 140$ i can spend that on a fish finder lol.. hope my local store will have them soon for spring and summer time... ill be doing ocean with it and bay.. how is it on the ocean with kinda choppy waves ? handles well?
It handles well. Due to the small size, though, I have to pay close attention to weather conditions. Whenever I see winds over 10 mph or surf over 8 ft., I second guess if I'll be going off shore that day. If it's too sketchy, I'll stay in the bay. Where are you planning to fish?
@@twobrothersfishing8900 ocean bay fishing here in san diego california.. i like this kaya because it looks thicker tall side wall compared to others it looks too low of a profile, i like that tall sidewalls for wakes from boats and waves

You convinced me to pick up a skipjack 90. I'll let you know how I like it in WA State.

@@twobrothersfishing8900 Nice! I try to fish for everything that swims. Salmon, trout, walleye, crappie, surf perch etc.
@@druslastcatch8674 so, did you end up liking it?
"Let the need present itself" that's great advice! What are some things that you bought that you ended up not needing?

At 16:09 - ain't that the truth! I've got stuff for bass fishing I don't use or forgot about. That bait "torpedo" was great! I never saw that.
Can u do a video of your fish finder and gps installation and what battery used and other parts needed

What is the reason for a power panel
Where do u keep Polo on that thing?
I usually toss him in one of the hatches with a bottle of Hennessy. Not a peep out of him until his bottle is done.
You think a younger lighter guy can stand on this thing? I fish lakes and ponds.
I'm sure you can learn to - but it would definitely take some skill, kind of risky too if you're going to have some gear on you
