We in Australia RAPIDLY stopped illegal immigration via boats dead.
It was VERY, VERY EASY.
As soon as a boatload of 'refugees' was detected by satellite or plane surveilence, we sent the Australian Navy to turn the boat back to where it came from.
This was only done a couple of times, and the people-smugglers then had nothing to sell, and INSTANTLY they were out of business.
Of course, the 'refugees' tried a few things; they scuttled their boats a few times, leaving the Navy with a choice whether to pick them up or to let the sharks have them.
Naturally, the Navy picked them up - but then transported them back to their port of origin anyway..
All boat arrivals stopped instantly.

Yes.
Once we had a goverment that had the Kahunas to do this, it was very easy.
The instant word got back to the 'refugees' that all boat people were being returned and therefore their money will be wasted on the boat trip, they stopped trying to get to our country by boat.
The boats stopped coming INSTANTLY.
And the people-smugglers were permanently out of business. It literally happened overnight. Hundreds more people were saved from drowing, and our borders were secure once more.

We did this in the early 2000's the boats stopped overnight, and we've have had no boats in over 20 years.

When a load of them return to France and tell their friends that they were turned back, they'll think twice before paying the gangs for a poor chance at success. The business model collapses, the gangs move on to something else and the boats stop.

All so France do not have to take back the migrants as they are all so illegally in France and not French citizens. Ironically when we were in the EU, we were legally allowed to send them back to the country they illegally entered from. We can no longer do that as we are not apart of the EU.

The topic of discussion was illegal immigrants but Starmers choice not to clarify this in the above statement makes it sound like the typical ''go back to your country' racist rhetoric. Although Starmer has since apologised for this, I think its concerning that he at this stage in his political career can conflate an existing migrant community with illegal immigrants.

Keir Starmer put a lot of effort into preventing grooming gangs getting prosecuted for the sake of diversity.
