Very very nice looking car 👌👌. Great to hear your story! I have one just like this myself. A maroon 1953 PV 444 ES and it's nice to know that it has a sibling in Canada! I recognised all the sounds from your car when you drove it. Mine sounds exactly the same, the transmission, the horn, etc 😁. You can see mine on my channel here on YT. I have never seen a PV with painted bumpers and rear lights before. It looks a bit unusual, but still nice. You have a 60 hp B16-engine in yours so it must have been replaced at some point. The B16 was introduced in 1957 and were red. The older B4b engines were green. Your chromed valve cover looks nice, it might come from a 1956 B14a engine which was the twin carb export version of the B4b. 1956 was the year that Volvo first started to export cars to North America. With that said your 53 must be very rare over there. The B16:s and the B4b:s are quite similar from the outside, apart from the colors, red and green, the easiest way to identify a B16 is that it has the oil filter on the block on the right side, whilst the B4b has an external oil filter sitting on the front upper left side of the engine. B16 also has a different exhaust/intake manifold, a different carb and air filter housing. You've done a great job with this car! Seems to run great too. Keep enjoying it 👍👍 👌👌With greetings from Sweden //Peter
Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing!😊 This PV444 came to Canada with someone in the armed forces stationed at CFB Suffield. We still have the military license plate that came with it📝 The bumpers and rear light housings were painted because the chrome plating was rough and rechroming over in Canada is very expensive.😵 We weren’t aware the engine may have been replaced, but all we know is it runs really nice🚗 A great little cruiser and a friendly little car that everyone loves.😍 Good to hear from another owner😊
Hi there!😊 Thanks for watching, and thank you for the comments🙇♂️ Are you asking about the build of the car in the video, or asking more about Volvo cars in general?📝
Sweet looking cars 👍👍
Thanks so much!!😀
