I saw the Princess Bride in the movie theater. The place was only half filled but _everyone_ was laughing, kids, teenagers and adults. I shook my head; this was a movie with universal appeal but the advertisers just didn’t know how to sell it. VHS and DVD gave it the audience appreciation it truly deserved. This is true love. You think this happens every day?

However, I Came back in just in time for the wedding and this hilarious voice comes out of this man while everyone is being so regal, proper, serious and English was my thought. I couldn't stop laughing they had to pause and rewind it like five times. It was my sister's favorite movie and she named her new puppy Westley. The Princess Bride is the perfect example of how to do campiness right.
Who else wants to see The Princess Bride with Peter Falk dubbed over every character? Would be epic.
Personally I would love to see Gilbert Gottfried dub over every line. His dubbing of 50 Shades of Grey is hilarious. Though Peter Falk would be good too.
Not exactly what you are looking for, but look for Princess Bride Home Movie.

His fingers go to ELEVEN
I didn't get that, what does it mean?
Wiib0 Google "go to eleven". Basically, it's a popular reference, and the villain has eleven fingers.
The actor that plays the 11-fingered villain (Christopher Guest) also plays the guitarist in Spinal Tap who has an amplifier that "goes to 11" and is therefore louder than other amplifiers. Best joke in this trailer !
Also the same director

One of the top three regrets of the dying are: not having the courage to live a life true to themselves, working too hard, never watching The Princess Bride.
I have seen this movie so many times. I love it just love it. Its such an iconic movie!

Honest Trailer for Snakes On a Plane!!!!!!
Off to watch princess bride now bye!!!
Fun fact. Having extra fingers is more complicated than you may think. There are categories. First, does the extra finger work? Second, pinky or thumb. Babies with extra didgets are uncommon everywhere but its usually a thumb in Asia and the Middle East and its usually a pinky in the Europe and Africa if I remember correctly. Third it can be just on one hand. Both or even both hands and feet. Theres a warrior mentioned in the Bible with six fingers and six toes on both hands and both feet.
Interestingly most of the time the extra fingers is useless to the person even if they can move it. However the few people with a fully functional and correctly proportioned extra finger have a distinct advantage. Theres a family in the Middle East that nearly everyone in their family has a fully functional extra pinky.

That fight scene between Inigo and Westley is honestly one of the greatest fencing scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie. Their footwork is actually accurate to traditional fencing, and the politeness even during a fight is undoubtedly something they would have been taught, since proper fencing was mostly a gentleman’s sport.
And the names they say are from real historical swordmasters of which most wrote books about swordfightingtechniques or had fencingschools. It's a nice detail if you know it.
@@mennograafmans1595 Very cool.
I love too the near misses, the behind your back without looking, but then under your legs parry , the hand change with out looking and so much more. you almost have to run the whole scene in slow motion to catch all the funny subtleties of the combat between 2 polite antagonists..
Second is the fight between Jack Sparrow and Will Turner. First Pirate of the Caribbean! ^^
@@Wesen24 I would like to add the duel between Rob(Liam Neeson) and Archibald(Tim Roth) in "Rob Roy". Exceptionally realistic swordplay. You were convinced they meant to kill each other.
"Life IS pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something". Amazing.
"Life isn't fair. It's just fairer than death, that's all."
That and "Not a lot of profit in revenge" are my favorite lines from this movie

I love how most Honest Trailers tend to ridicule a movie more but this movie is so good they couldn’t come up with a lot. It’s basically just praising the movie the entire time. They were probably like “yeah we got nothing. This movie’s perfect.”
Every time they pick a slight fault like "Obvious stunt doubles" they quickly follow it up with "But who cares? This movie is awesome!".
They know how to cushion internet backlash!

That's why I like to watch the Honest Trailer of a movie I'm considering seeing. Not only does it give me goofy things to look for, it gives me a heads up on if it's any good or not.
But they completely forgot to mention the Miracle Max scene!
It's kinda hard to ridicule a satire. The whole point of the film was to ridicule films like this in the first place. But, because it's so well done and so subtle, the movie ended up being the best film in the very genre it satirizes. This makes it an immeasurable masterpiece.
There are 2 kinds of people: Those whose favorite movie is Princess Bride, and those who haven't seen Princess Bride.
I guess I'm the third kind. Whilst I immensely enjoy this film, Cars 2 is my favorite: the themes about friendship and how being yourself is enough are the best. Plus, cool spy cars with rockets, because.

I got lucky with that - a local theater did a single screening on Valentine's Day a few years back. I took my girlfriend (now engaged) to see it. Its been my favorite movie since probably 13 or so.
I saw it on a big screen with the cast & director a few years back. It was a precious experience & seeing it with a large audience was wonderful.

Here's a tidbit about The Princess Bride:
At one point, Inigo is drunk and waiting for Fezzik. A guard steps up and says "Ho, there!" Inigo replies, "I'm not moving. Keep your ho there." EXCEPT... Mandy Patinkin's Spanish accent is so specific that when he says "ho there", it comes out _joder_ - "to fuck". Inigo just told that guard to go fuck himself!
I love hidden shit like this. I saw this film during its first theatrical run a couple of times, and each time I had the pleasure of being the only person in the auditorium who cracked up at that line. It was so _unexpected_ and as I said, so specific. There is just no way that Patinkin didn't know what he was doing with that line. I've always wanted to thank him for it.
I LOVE THIS! I'm the only person in my group of friends who speaks Spanish well enough to have caught it, and while I've explained the joke to a couple people, they just can't understand.
