I absolutely loooove this performance! The tender melody against the waltz of the background makes me imagine a child dancing in a room with her teddy bear as the dolls are watching like Toy Story! It also brings such an emotional nostalgia of my childhood. I had a stuffed animal that I received when I was about nine years old and kept until I was ready to go to college. I wanted to take it, but it’s neck was loose, and it didn’t have the same fluff that it used to because I was sleep with it for years. My mother convinced me that it was time to leave the teddybear behind. My freshman year in college I had three stuffed animals on my bed that I would put right in front of my pillows when I made it, but it never had the same impact as my big teddy bear that I had as a child. The meter change from 3/4 to 4/4 makes me feel like there is the change of life from childhood to adulthood.
Janis: "Hey cool, I found a fishing rod, so let's go fishing!" Real Group : "No Janis, we have to make a world class recording first." Janis:"Oh...OK!"
Auf UA-cam sind ja mehrere acapella- Versionen von " smile" zu hören und zu sehen, aber diese ist meiner Meinung nach die schönste. Tolles Arrangement, toll gesungen!
Tank you it was a long time, great group en singers, the voice so beautiful, wonderful moment for everyone, this place hare very good for inspiration so beautiful, merci beaucoup, to bee continue!
A wonderful arrangement of Bill Evans’ composition! Thank you for uploading this song, finally something in Swedish which I really appreciate!!!!!! Bravo bravissimo, The Real Group!
@@Magiktrainee Thank you. If you watch the Södermalm Sessions, 'Pass Me The Jazz' you will see the previous sound engineer @ 0:15 and in the background @ 1:54. He's also seen in other TRG video clips. I read his name in a TRG blog, Jan Apelholm. A bit of digging has found that Linnéa Carrell-Brunnberg started working as The Real Group sound engineer in the summer of 2015.
In her own sweet world Populated by dolls and clowns And a prince and a big purple bear Lives my favorite girl. Unaware of the worried frowns That we weary grown-ups all wear. In the sun she dances To silent music-songs That are spun of gold Somewhere in her own little head Then one day all too soon She'll grow up & she'll leave her doll And her prince & her silly old bear. When she goes they will cry As they whisper good-bye They will miss her I know But then so will I. Earrings made of shoestrings Barbie dolls with blue jeans Makin' cross eyes Shakes me when I'm sleepin' Did you ever see A kitten with an apron on Stop 'n start his stereo When she knows her brothers down the hall runnin' 'round and skippin' 'round Because she's so, She's so inspired Then she's tired Please put me jammies on Daddy look at the rain Can I go and play in the rain In the sun she dances To silent music-songs That are spun of gold Somewhere in her own little head Then one day all too soon She'll grow up & she'll leave her doll And her prince & her silly old bear When she goes they will cry As they whisper good-bye They will miss her I know But then so will I.

One of my ALL-TIME FAVOURITES from this group's catalog.
No doubt one of their best.
Beautiful ❤. Thank you.
02:40 I love the bass walk :)
I think this is the best formation of The Real Group.....
At 02:10, from a waltz, the tempo goes to 4/4... It's amazing. It's the 1st time I realize...
R. I. P. Bill & Monica...
Such a pleasing blend! A complete joy
Made me cry! Excellent!
Absolutely stunning. Great soloist voice. One of the most interesting interpretations of this famous Bill Evans piece. I loved it!

Incredible technical skills. I sent a summer in a cabin like this in the Stockholm archipelago. Best summer of my life. Wonderful music.

Great tune...great vocals...so very hip...
A thing of beauty (and) a joy forever. [Has TRG changed its sound engineer?]
I'm not sure when she started but she was already with TRG in 2017

💕
Those voicings were a signature of Bill Evans piano playing
Beautifully done. My only nitpick is that it doesn't seem to have Evan's original harmonic complexity.
I know Jazz- freaks hate this,I love it!
Are you ok for an radio interview?
ME RA VI GLIO SO !!!!!!
I can't hear Lisa :(

Makin' cross eyes
Shakes me when I'm sleepin'
Did you ever see
A kitten with an apron on
Stop 'n start his stereo
When she knows her brothers down the hall runnin' 'round and skippin' 'round
Because she's so,
She's so inspired
Then she's tired
Please put me jammies on
Daddy look at the rain
Can I go and play in the rain
In the sun she dances
To silent music-songs
That are spun of gold
Somewhere in her own little head
Then one day all too soon
She'll grow up & she'll leave her doll
And her prince & her silly old bear
When she goes they will cry
As they whisper good-bye
They will miss her I know
But then so will I.
👏
What a language is this?
It’s Swedish
@@christianesiegel132well it's truly beautiful thank you
My only complaint is that it’s not sung in English. Otherwise perfect!
No lo conocía y no me gusta especialmente😢
Ok, but far away from the old, Real version with Real members.
