You should also test the time for different mewtwos to be defeted. No attacking, just taking damage
This. It always bugs me when people talk about the attack boost without mentioning the mon will die faster too
The reason damage dealt is mentioned and not damage taken, is because in raids you are racing the clock. As long as you aren't 1 hit ko'd, it's of little consequence 18% defense. You can always pop max revives and get back into the raid.
I think he did already. Just a couple of months ago, he raided with a shadow and regular.
@@BFeast-jd5xq Which takes time. Like if your time to kill is slower, but you spend more time actively fighting and doing damage then it changes the discussion. I've had bullshit server issues losing 10+ seconds using revives
Bro this tests have already been done ages ago. By sorting to DPS*TDO parameter.
One thing you could or point out as well was that both of the other mewtwos actually took more damage since it took longer to bring down.😊
I am a hundo collector. I got a ton of 3* Shadows out of this weekend. I ended up getting four Mewtwos who were purified into hundos, giving me a grand total of six hundo Mewtwos. I'll leave the other three stars as shadows, but as a Hu do collector, I wasn't gonna pass that up.

Completely agreed. I have 6 three star shadow mewtu for a team and on top purified one to Shundo and one to hundo… a team of 6 is enough. If there’s a hundo or Shundo I’ll take it ….

What about doing some training matches? I mean at higher level raids the defending pokemon do fight back. Would be nice to see ex 100% regular Mewtwo v 0% Shadow Mewtwo. Or something like that. Would giver a better picture imo.
shadow mewtwo is 6 6 6 base
dps is much more important than how bulky your pokemon is in raids
if for example you're doing a raid with other players and your whole team was made up of shadow mewtwos, at the end of the raid you'll need to revive more shadow mewtwos than if you used regular or purified mewtwos, but your damage output would be quite a bit higher with the team of shadow mewtwos
Actually u can test with the level 20 shadow mewtwo still strong then level 25 mewtwo. At the same time u r educated players not only it stronger in shadow form and u can power up then lesser but with better dmg out put when using them ( use lesser resources for a better outcome)
i already purified 2 out of 25 mewtwo i got just because i never gotten any mewtwo before and i wanted to use charge moves other than frustration :D
you could just unlock the second charge move

Why didn’t you just remove frustration with a Charge TM during the raids? I removed it from all of my Mewtows without purifying it.
I might purify my lowest couple to send to friends. Not because its better, but I'll probably never level it because i dont have 1000 xl mewtwo candies (or normal candies)
just trade normal mewtwo when it comes back.
purify to trade is the biggest waste of stardust and candy i could imagine.

My higest IV shadow mewtwo just happened to be my first shiny shadow mewtwo as well. 13.14.15
I purified 1 to get hundo mewtwo for future mega and maxed it out keep others that we’re all 10 iv on all stats or more for my army of shadows though will only use 3 others because already had 2 mewtwos with 98 iv and double legacy moves are 4500cp so just gonna do 3 regular and 3 shadows for raids
At this point since you can have so many of them I don't think there is much harm in purifying say a /13/13/13 for a hundo for the mega. Maybe wait until the mega is out but if you have 20+ not that big of a deal.

Im a returning/new player. But what about charged attacks for PvE? Isnt it better to get rid of frustation, and get a decent one instead?
Or i guess just wait till its possible to change chaged attack at an event?
I'm pretty sure it's always worth the wait when it comes to removing frustration, though it might be a while till then
The answer is: It depends how many shadows you have. Most ppl got 1 or 2 shadow mewtwo, answer is a simple no. After this event i am keeping my original shadow mewtwo 82% lvl 50, i am keeping 93% and 91% for potential leveling, i purified 89% for a hundo mega mewtwo, 2 are shinies for collection. Together i have 35 shadow mewtwo, 29 shadow mewtwo that i did not mentioned will be transfered into candy grinder in next extra transfer candy event because there is no point in keeping them. It is maybe the strongest pokemon, but getting a team of 6 to level 50 is a task for several years, i am not doing that, i prefer variability in my team.
There other potential move set like focus blast and flamethrower will be broken strong even with no stab
But with the introduction of shadow raid, if you want to duo them, you need to throw in 4 shadow shards each while tanking their damage. In this case, normal Pokémon will be better than shadow.
We saw this with the shadow mewtwo raids where the optimal way to duo it is start mega houndoom, use regular tyranitar to tank while throwing in purified gems, and end with shadow tyranitar or relobby mega houndoom.
Now that we’re getting news where legendary shadow raids are coming every weekend, raising 2-3 regular tanky counters so u can duo them. Shadow Articuno for example will obviously be less popular than mewtwo and there’s a good chance u need to duo.
This is what I keep saying too. Just depends on how many you have. How many roles you want to fill. I caught 65 over the weekend. Purified three of them for hundos a couple 98s. But I caught two shinies that are 98 that I will never purify as well as a handful of other 98s non-shiny. I'm going to load them up with different movesets.
Yeah if you only catch one or two you might as well just keep it.

that's only the case if you can get both to the same level. I'd like to see one video that compares same candy investment in both, like 50 candies for the shadow and 50 candies for the purified, which one is going to be better. I think it better reflects the majority of players who don't have too many resources

After watching this video I can once again confirm that PvE content doesn't matter to me and I really need a regular (non-shadow) hundo for the ML, which before the shadow raid event I hadn't been able to get.

I have like 10 shdows so I decided to purify one of them just so i could have one to use. No elite tms. I unfortunately purified a 11/10/11 which was my 2nd best shadow iv. I saved my best 12/13/14. The rest are bad ivs but still good. I decided to purify the best one because if a 0 iv shadow is better might as well have the best possible none shadow
When is the next event to possibly renove frustration?
I got shundo shiny mewtwo, what should I do with the fast move and charge attack? And I got no enough candy to get 2 attack

Here's a case for purifying a shadow mewtwo 1. You already have "enough" shadow mewtwos. (whatever "enough" means to you.) so If you did 100 shadow mewtwo raids...you're probably not going to power them all up. 2. You are *lucky* friends with someone also purifying theirs. 3. You do a mirror trade of purified lucky mewtwos. Your lucky purified mewtwo will have a stat floor of 12/12/12. You will get both the purified discount and lucky discount on stardust. You'll get a 20% discount on both candy and stardust for your 2nd charge move. You'll get a candy discount for powering it up. If you're trying to do things on a budget, this is an *excellent* way to save both stardust and candies.
uh i purified my shadow mewtwo my best one and its a hundo shiny mewtwo was it bad that i purified my mewtwo to almmost 3200cp? or was it a bad idea still?

The way I see it is Regular is the best for pvp but shadow is the best for gyms and raids

Shadow pokeman are in pain. You TOTALLY cannot get a shadow pokemon to best buddy friendship, because the shadow pokemon resent their current trainer for events committed to them by their previous trainer. /Sarcasm
All shadow pokemon are by default leftist, at least while they are in evil mode. They blame people who did nothing to them for all their problems. Major failure of logic.

I caught a 13/13/15 Shadow Mewtwo. Should I purify it and Have my first 4* Mewtwo and power up it to level 50? I have other 2 Shadow Mewtwo at level 45 and they are 84% and 82%
probably wait for mega mewtwo because the purified one wont be usefull until its released anyway
I tested a shadow vs purified and the purified won with the same attacks on PVP. Shadow is only stronger in gyms. With the 20% defense drop a shadow will lose. Show a test on it on PVP with just confusion attacks.
So basically I’m pretty sure the only way a purified mewto is better is against a mewto itself in pvp. Shadow mewto is better against every single other Pokémon but I think purfied mew two is better against mewto itself
I have a 14/14/14 shiny shadow mewtwo, once mega mewtwo comes out I’m probably going to purify for the shundo mega, I have another shadow shiny mewtwo with 15 attack and don’t see myself doing enough normal mewtwo raids to ever get a shundo if/when it returns

Yes
Here, Brandon is only referring to using Mewtwo as a raid attacker. There are nuanced reasons to actually purify a sub 15 attack Mewtwo if you want to use it in GBL. Charged Move Priority (or CMP) determines who's charged attacks throw first in PVP.
CMP is determined by the two pokemon's actual attack power and ignores the 20% increase in power from the shadow bonus. The shadow bonus is modifying the damage and not the actual attack stat. A 15 attack purified Mewtwo will destroy a 14 attack shadow Mewtwo in PvP.
Therefore, if you play PvP, purification is valid if your attack stat is under 15. If you do not play PvP, the shadow is most likely still hitting harder than the Mega in raids.
Only Rocket Grunts and sith speak in absolutes.

@@amandaprice1846 so this counts only for the raids, not in pvp fights or anything: just for the raids a 0/0/0 shadow pokemon is stronger than a 15/15/15 normal pokemon. I doubt that you need EVERY shadow pokemon which you caught, because 80% of those are pokemon you dont need. Strong pokemon like mewtu for example are better as shadows like in this case. But they are also more expensive to power up with stardust.
Got a 93% non shiny shadow and 80% shiny shadow and idk which one to level 50 😭

If it had 15 attack then no. Otherwise it's subjective.
the differences only matter in raid. in PvP, you have to encounter another mewtwo (mirror fight) to see the differences between shadow and purified M2

purifying a shadow mewtwo isn’t that bad. In master league it only goes down 2 ranks. 9-11. If your planning to climb or just get the gbl rewards both options are viable. Shadow does more damage but isnt as tanky but in fact quite glassy + you aren’t able to tm frustration. If your looking for a cheaper but viable option purify the mewtwo

Yes, it implies for them all. At least when it comes to raids.
PvP is a bit different because of Charge Move Priority (CMP) and the fact that tankiness is very useful in PvP, meaning the 20% defence drop for shadow Pokemon can be a bit disappointing.
