I do the same for my Speedmaster but glad you put this out because a lot of people don’t know and I don’t like seeing beautiful motorcycles getting rust
👍 Go for it, keeps the bike in such good condition. Trick is not to put too much on, or it will be too thick. Putting it in a spry bottle is recommended. Cheers
Your motorcycle looks very nice after the treatment. Maybe it's cold, but you're lucky to be able to ride your motorcycle in December, without ice and snow on the roads.
Hi Angus. I have to park my bike outside too. I found a great ride-on cover from Louis Moto (think they are German) which zips up and keeps the bike completely covered from the ground up… not as good as a garage, but keeps the bike safe from the worst of the effects of the fresh air.
It is unfortunate (especially in the winter), however can't let it put you off having the bike you want 👍 Thanks I will take a look at the cover, would be sensible to have one! Cheers
I've also used ACF50 for a number of years and found it works well, even when applied from the bottle with an old paintbrush. I agree though that the professional job is better and good value for £75.
👍 Still great stuff when done your self. I like getting it done by these guys as they do such a great job and I can rest assured that the bike is well protected. Cheers
Great video Angus 👍, a definitely worth the small outlaw to preserve one's pride and joy 😊. I must get my bike booked in for this superb treatment as its so cold right now. Ride safe sir 🙏 👌 🙌 👏 👍.
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed the video 👍 Definitely worth the cost in my opinion! Really great service and value for money. It is freezing isn't it haha Cheers and same to you
I keep my bikes out all year round, but in the tropics. Stick them under the car port. In London, I used to just hose the bike off when I got in if there had been any salt around, then spray something all over it. Can't remember what. Not WD40, although I used that once over.
Yes slightly less harsh conditions in the tropics! The salt is the real culprit I think, yup good idea to just hose it off asap 👍 I love this acf-50 product, I have had such good results with it, think I will continue to use for a long time! Cheers and enjoy that warmer climate 😉
I've worked in bike detailing so have plenty of experience with all the anti rust options. ACF is alright, but it doesn't last too long and leaves a disgusting greasy finish, with commuting miles acf wears out after a week for me (in fairness I ride over 1k a week all year round so it is a harsh test). XCP products are a little better, less greasy and last longer. The best stuff is the bilt hamber range. Dynax s50 used to treat swing arm and frame internals. Dynax UC applied to the lower elements, engine, peg mounts, fasteners, etc... Hydrate 80 will treat any existing rust. And finally atom Mac to treat the bike everywhere else and after riding in salt, spray it on brake discs and all, it will neutralize salt and safe to use on everything. Not intending to talk down on the process shown here, just giving my experiences and options for people to look into.
👍 All good, its always good to hear of other options and ways to protect your bike. I am so pleased with the results from the acf-50 treatment I think I will just stick with it for now, but can definitely see the benefits of other products. The salt on the road in the winter is the worst!! Horrible stuff, I suppose does help keep you upright though 😉 Thanks I appreciate your input and knowledge. Cheers
@@redangrevival The most important thing is that there's something on there at least. I'm working as a motorbike mechanic currently and the state of some people's 2 or 3 year old bikes is awful. My 30 year old bikes are in better condition! 😂
Bennet's did some extensive testing of these products and XCP rust blocker was tested to last significantly longer than ACF 50 and perform better. Worth a look
As I don't ride through winter, I use a vacbag to store my bike in. I have tried ACF50 but never really got on with it. Maybe I was putting too much on for fear of missing some areas, which I guess is where AYB come into their own. If you do use either this or XCP, it's important to get the bike clean before you apply it otherwise you seal the nasty stuff in and it corrodes your bike underneath. When I did ride in the winter (though not every day) I used FS365 which has to be applied regularly.
That sounds interesting! Bet that protects it perfectly 😁 Exactly that is why I get them to do it, just do such a great job of covering the whole bike and cleaning it down so well before application. I have not used XCP but am so please with the ACF-50 I will just stick with that! Cheers and roll on the Spring👌
@RedAng Revival It does do a good job. I store my bike in my garage along with the cars. Last winter, we had some very changeable weather with periods of dry cold spells followed by really mild damp ones. During one of these warm spells, I opened the garage door to get my car out and the rush of warm damp air into the garage condensed onto the cold metal of my bike, resulting in it being running wet with condensation. It's a bit of a pain getting the bike inside it due to where it is in the garage but I use some of those big DIY platic spring clamps with some cord to suspend the bag from the rafters so I can wheel it in. I also gave it a spray with fs365 a couple if days before I put it away and put a dessicant pack I got from Nippy Normans inside too. With the bag having one end open which you then close up I am also able to leave my Optimate connected so it'll be ready to go come early March. All I need then is some fresh petrol as I drained the tank before putting it away.
@RedAng Revival Hopefully 🙈 My first BMW was a R1150R and that was much more robust to stuff like salt, I suspect due in part to the superb build quality and the "old" type of paints that were used that are now banned. I have to admit to being proud of my bikes, so always look after them without being super anal but have learned that prevention is better than cure with the modern stuff.
Soon as it warms up am doing a big clean down and getting out! P.s not having a center stand bit frustating but put down somw foam n wear old traccy bs.
👍 go for it, don't let the weather hold you back. Starting to get a bit warmer but unfortunately bringing some rain. Yea no centre stand not ideal but there are ways around it, get mucky! Cheers
One minute in, let me guess.... AFC-50? And if that's the case have you considered xcp clear coat, which in Bennetts test of lots of these treatments was clearly better than the ACF-50 and stays on better and longer 👍🏻
You got it! Love the stuff. Yes I have heard of XCP, however I am just so pleased with ACF-50 I don't see any need to change. Great stuff though. Cheers
@@redangrevival fair enough, but in test xcp is superior both in the time it lasts and application, and to kinda answer your point of 'I don't see any need to change', I'd say those reasons are why, oh yeah and I believe that all year biker actually do also provide the option for xcp rust blocker, which is a little bit stickier than the clear coat, which is exactly why xcp brought it out, as some customers said the rust blocker held on to grit more, making the bike look dirty, but obviously the choice is yours, ride safe 👍🏻😉
I suppose your closest might be where I go in Wiltshire! You can buy from amazon and apply your self, I just find All Year Biker do such a good and thorough job 👍
Ffs! Do it yourself. Forget the products just clean it e every week. Thankfully dont have to ride through winter anymore. Do like watching the channel thought...only been bikin 40+ years lol
I clean my bike at least once a week! For the money I save on not buying a compressor and snow foam jet I think it well worth the money to have these guys do it. My bike is in top condition thanks to these guys treatment and me taking good care of her. Each to their own I suppose! Thanks I appreciate it and glad you enjoy watching the channel 👍

Always happy to share some good information, and the more beautiful well looked after bikes on the road the better for everyone 😁

What saddlebags have you got on your speedmaster Dude ?. Look fab and i'm looking for a new set for my Royal Star.
They are an optional extra from Triumph themselves. Should be able to find on the Triumph website 👍
Cheers Dude will check it out.

The Vacbag piqued my curiosity. Unfortunately the product seems unavailable. There's a couple on e-bay, but none that ship to the US.
