Thank you SOOO much for covering Erica’s story. When this happened I was a 9 yr old girl living in Kansas City. Her story made me cry every time I saw her on a billboard, on the news, in newspapers, or heard them speak about her on the radio. I was 13 when they identified her and was so happy.
You and about a couple of other YTers have covered it and I thank you. She will NEVER be forgotten. RIP ERICA 🕊️🕊️💜💜

All of a sudden we heard what sounded like a little girl screaming for help. My husband and 5 other people went running around the side of the apartments while I called 911 saying a kid needed help. Husband and friends found nothing… cops had a similar experience… cue to a few days later we were watching BFG again we figured out who we heard screaming for help. 🤷🏻‍♀️

As someone who has taken a lot of medication, Zoloft sucks. It works for some, but it can also really mess you up if your body rejects it. It made me really sick personally, I was throwing up all the time and was basically a zombie. I can certainly see it giving people dark thoughts, especially since people usually take it when they already have dark thoughts, it can just worsen the symptoms. If you feel off about your meds after giving it a shot, get them changed to something more stable. Do NOT tough it out.

It is worth noting that it wasn't the zoloft itself that they think was at fault, but the rapid switch TO zoloft that awoke those side effects. I think it had some effect. But I don't believe he was completely out of control at the time. I do believe he was, at least at the time, a violent and aggressive child with limited conscience. I married at barely 16 (the 1st time) and I was no "little girl". I was 5'9" tall, as tall as I'd ever get and weighed 120 pounds and I was nearly as grown up, nearly as smart as I'd ever get (I'm 62.5 now). I would not have ever stabbed a person for any non self defense reason (meaning I would never have stabbed anyone or allowed another person to do that in my presence, unless the person was trying to take my life or someone else's, right then in that instant).
So I do not think that the 15 year old girl (who helped her boyfriend get into a disabled man's house by knocking at his door &conning her way inside to then watch as her 22 year old boyfriend killed a hands less man) can be blamed on or mitigated by her young age. She was plenty grown up to think she could live out in the world without her parents to provide for her, she knew they had no way to support theemselves so she knew when she left with him that someone was going to pay for them to be keep being together.. She was old enough to understand it's WRONG to harm another person, much less to kill them. She could've called the police when he started attacking the defenseless disabled kind man who let them in his home. She could've made her boyfriend stop, by running outside, he would've followed her. She could've left his presence many many different times, AFTER he'd killled their victim (without mercy) just to get a truck AND they could've also taken the truck WITHOUT hurting or killing him.
What she did and allowed to be done for selfish reasons has everythinig to do with thinking you are all that matters in the world and that usually does not ever get any better if you're already that self centered, selfish, uncaring, cold and thoughtless like that girl was at age 15.

After leaving the 1st store, I was driving to the next, and had a horrible thought when I wondered how it would feel to crash into an 18 wheeler. With regards to the children who have been abused by their victims and finally snap and react after no one has helped them after repeatedly reaching out and having no one step in and protect them, like the brother and sister and the 10 yr old. No way those kids should end up in jail, every person who failed to protect them leading up to them finally taking drastic measures to save themselves should all be charged.

We all shook hands then immediately advised him that because he was not a minor we had every right to beat TF outta him at our discretion. We also suggested to our daughter (cuz u can’t tell 15yr old they can’t do something unless u want them to do it,) that she might be wise to consider wtf might be wrong with a grown man who chooses to hang with much younger girls. Had he exhausted all his resources in his age group? If so wouldn’t that mean he’d been rejected already by them? And if so, Why? Their relationship ended quickly…
