Some wooden coasters benefit from bumps and some don't. The boss doesn't. Thing should absolutely be a hybrid. The other two wooden coasters though should stay exactly how they are
There’s a small hill right before you hit the break run on the boss and it hurts me every time. I had a bruise on the left side of my stomach because of it. 😟 also, it felt like the wheels were going to fly off the whole time. 😅 so yeah, that was pretty scary.
This six flags is the one I’ve been to the most and I’m so buzzing to see someone else love the Boss as much as I have over the years! I’ve hardly seen it discussed amongst the enthusiast community and agree that it’s criminally underrated. What a ride!
I love the ninja! If you learn where to place your head throughout it, it's a blast. All our wooden coasters are amazing. I've ridden the screaming eagle backwards LOVED it!. These coasters are part of my childhood! ❤
Exactly I'm so happy that on the Ninja the overhead shoulder restrains come down past my ears so my head doesn't bang into them Ninja is also one of my favorites I've only ridden it once back in June but Batman, was also a first for me and I loved it a lot as well.
My personal top 9 at the park (it's my home park) 1. Screaming Eagle 2. The Boss 3. Mr. Freeze 4. Batman: The Ride 5. Ninja 6. Pandemonium 7. River King Mine Train 8. American Thunder 9. Boomerang Screagle usually runs really well, but even when it runs slow it has one fantastic airtime moment after the turnaround, that and the night ride secure it as #1 at SFSTL
My home park too (I’m a season pass holder), valid but personally I would put American thunder much higher, and ninja and pandemonium maybe slightly lower. I agree with boomerang at the bottom. Whenever you enter the second lift, there is a massive jerk that kills you if you’re not ready. Screaming eagle is definitely my favorite ride at the park as well.
The Boss was my first rollercoaster. I remember closing my eyes for half of it. It’s my favorite ride at six flags. Also curious what you thought of the fireball.
I actually think ninja is really underrated, and I'd put it at 6 in the park. I was able to avoid any headbanging with my usual Arrow OTSR technique, and all the inversions were super fun then. I also found some awesome floajector airtime on the first drop
If it like replaced the head sets that like comfort your head I would love it but because I’m a all-star cheerleader and I can’t have my neck popping so much but I get where your coming from!!❤
Last time I was there in 2013 Boss was by far my favorite, and that was before they took out the double helix at the end. So glad someone actually likes this coaster as well.
My mom and i have been going to Six Flags over St. Louis for the past 2 years around Halloween(and we are going again this year)and the night rides at this park are amazing especially the Boss and Mr. Freeze.
I went on the Boss 15 years ago and told myself I would never go on it again. It's just so bumpy and intense it bruised my body up. Definitely an intense coaster!
Cool list, this is a very fun park! I had a great time here. Unfortunately, Mr. Freeze was closed but this park has a wooden coaster collection that rivals Holiday World. Screamin’ Eagle and Boss are some of my favorite wooden coasters I’ve ridden, and American Thunder is a Fun GCI. I also simp hard for Ninja 😂
Of all the coasters I’ve been on at St. Louis I’d rank them: Boss, Ninja, Mine Train, and Screaming Eagle. It was hard deciding but when it comes down to personal experience this is accurate for me
I love the frequent countdown uploads! Keep it up! My opinion based on looks for the park (havent been there) 1. Mr freeze (looks like so much fun and intense) 2. Batman (not my favorite invert, but it's always a solid ride) 3. Screamin eagle (a good smooth classic wood coaster is always great if it has some airtime) 4. American thunder (not as into GCIs but it looks like a solid ride) 5. Pandemonium (spinning coasters are fun) 6. River king (good family coaster) 7. Booomerng (another boomerang) 8. Boss (not a fan of headache inducing wooden coasters) 9. Ninja (obvious reasons)
The Boss is an awesome coaster, but I have to disagree about The Ninja. Yeah, it's a rough ride, but the loops and corkscrews come at you so fast, it's awesome. It makes you feel like you're in a fighter plane, in a dogfight. And if you think The Ninja is rough, you've not seen anything. The Screaming Eagle is INTENSE, not to mention the amount of negative G you get on it as well.
I went there yesterday (8.7.22) I loved Batman it’s definitely my favorite and I really enjoyed the Ninja,I rode the tony hawk, mine train and I rode the boss at the end with my mom and didn’t enjoy it due to the jerkeyness but otherwise it was pretty fun, I also rode the boomerang and loved it and the screaming eagle as well…did not ride mr.Freeze bc It was getting late and I was super tired and didn’t wanna go on it yet bc i was still kinda nerves about the straight down drop but I think im ganna do it next time now that I’m over my fears of roller coasters 🎢
Boss was even more intense before they remove part of the track at the end of the run. It previously went around that tight bend twice. Its was very intense...maybe too much so they shortened it...
Unrelated, but have you seen the footage of the new Jurassic World dark ride in Beijing? It may outshine Rise of the Resistance as crazy as that sounds to you.
This park should never get rid of the coal train... it's a classic, kids can experience their first coaster with ease and thrill, usually a short easy line. I also agree with the Boss, people either love it or hate it. You need to your back adjusted after riding in the rear car on that one and I love it.
Mr Freeze just edges Boss and Screaming Eagle for me. They are all very close in my rankings. I have American Thunder 4th slightly ahead of Batman. The top 5 are all very solid rides. If this park had a RMC Raptor to pair with the Top 5, it would actually be a real solid Six Flags park as the setting is pretty good as well. I enjoyed my 2020 visit to this park a lot.
This is about what my ranking would be, too. Too bad you didn't get to ride the Screaming Eagle. I would still place The Boss at #1, but the Screaming Eagle is a solid roller coaster. The Ninja would also be my last coaster, but I still like it, though, if nothing but for sentimental reasons. I remember when it was released and I enjoy it. I don't know about it being one of the worst coasters in the world, but I also don't have the experience with coasters that you do. It's been a few years since I've been there, but I am excited about getting a season pass this year to be able to go several times.
You are right about America thunder is so good that like it’s very basically like the best right at the park. Like if I was actually complaining about the cc able to three customers I would actually think that’s the American bummer for the GC able to cause I like so good I could actually say that the Batman clothes are actually real good, but I am but in my opinion, I actually think that I am American thunder is actually the best roller coaster at
We are going tomorrow opening day of 2024! It is my home park also. it will be my daughters boyfriend’s first time at a theme park and riding roller coasters. Hopefully he likes them.! 😂
I don't understand why they haven't done what Six Flags Over Georgia did to Ninja when it became Blue Hawk in 2016. Simply replace the shoulder harnesses with those new vest restraints and you've got a perfectly smooth and enjoyable ride. And they might as well do the same thing with Boomerang for the heck of it as well.
Being my home park I loved the ninja but recently I started hating in every time I ride my head gets banged like hell also recommend the screaming eagle
We said the Ninja wouldn’t be there much longer 10 years ago! It was crazy rough then! Six Flags is my home park. The Ninja was good its first couple years then turned to 💩
I HATE THE BOSS, bacause its just getting old and is really jerky, at the end theres a tinny hill that leads to the brakes, it will hurt your head for the rest of the day. i'm from STL, so i've been to this park a lot.
Mr. freeze is actually so freaking intense. Like is very I don’t know how to say this, but it’s so good like they should actually put this in freezer like every six weeks for just like how they do for about the ride they should never have a ninja they should actually put the boot. Yeah they should still have a break break but I am I actually think that American thunder is actually the best coaster in the park but like it’s just I don’t have any knowledge, just kidding I do but I am they should I say put every of coaster at this park at every Six Flags park like so they can ride it all all over the time but it’s very cool though anybody’s call email about the boss. I think that actually makes no sense for them to complain about that, like boss is very good do it I don’t want anybody complaining about American thunder but arm pit. Imodium is actually a good ride. All the rides were good I didn’t go to scream at you I didn’t write Screamin eagle little, but I have to say I watch the videos of it and it’s actually a pretty good ride.
@@CoasterDash Unlike your experience, my ten rides on it had fantastic pacing, and it had extremely fun flojector from start to finish. I really wanted to stay and marathon it more but I had to getting going to get to my lodgings near SDC before it got too late.

I love it and want it to be rmced :/
Some wooden coasters benefit from bumps and some don't. The boss doesn't. Thing should absolutely be a hybrid. The other two wooden coasters though should stay exactly how they are
I've rode the boss 4 times In a row on a hot day when every 1 was in the water park lol

Agreed, Ninja is a really fun ride imo
Ninja isn’t awful like most would say, but I dont consider it a “good” ride and it was certainly the least enjoyable coaster in the park for me
I agree- it’s been there longer than a lot of them

What’s crazy is boss is your favorite and they even cut it down and took out one of the fastest parts at the end.
the boss was one of the most painful things i’ve ever been through

RMC Boss has the odds to be insane
American thunder was the smoothest wooden coaster I’ve ever rode
great review thank you
Just went to 6 flags for my honor choir, and the ninja hurt my hip for a while afterwards😂
screaming eagle was the only roller coaster i would ride on when i was a scared child

Six Flags Great America is one of my last major parks to hit in the US. It’s definitely on the to-do list this year.

@@CoasterDash Well they should.

Clones at SFSL:
-American Thunder (Clone is Thunderbird at PowerLand)
-Batman: The Ride
-Boomerang
-Mr. Freeze
-Pandemonium
Still less clones than Magic Kingdom.
@@ThemeParkAvenue No since Barnstormer is a custom layout
Still less clones than SFA
