Thanks Dean, makes understanding the masks a lot easier. Your "Hi Tech" examples made it perfectly clear. Looking forward to more of your videos. Keep Safe.
I really appreciated the way you explained layers and masks - the explanation using actual photos at the start really helped to better understand how to use this function in PS. Overall, great video!
Thanks Dean, this instruction on photoshop layers was excellent. Especially liked using the photographs at the beginning to understand the foundation of what layers are and how to see through them. Stay safe!
It's extremely useful to see how PS "layering" can be demonstrated 3-dimensionally. We're so accustomed to interacting with a 2-dimensional screen is can be hard to understand that what you see on your screen is actually a bird's eye view in PS World, but represented in a vertical axis (the screen). Whenever you look at the screen, your brain actually has to process three planes at once; the vertical axis on the screen but also as the bird's eye perspective of the layers themselves ( an artificial lateral plane). Yet in the layers panels, the layers and linked masks appear on a horizontal axis. So I think it confuses the brain, and makes the idea hard to comprehend. Conceptually it makes sense, it's just hard to visualize.
Great instruction Dean, well paced for myself and appreciate the time stamps. Just a suggestion, rather than use shortcuts initially try the interface icons/menus for commands and tools. Because this is beginner level and my goal this year is to learn PS in more depth I find learning the interface first then use shortcuts as I get more proficient.
@@deancooperphotography2896 Hi Dean, thanks for the info , i have to search for another tuber to find out how to turn into B&W . I often like tutorials that steps out how to get each stage , not short cut as lots of us are newbie here. Thanks again , the practical samples are good.
How ironic is it you using Craig's Hut as an example 😂😂..I had sent you my photo's yesterday, without the slightest idea you were posting this later!!!
Hi, to turn the image to BW quickly, on a Windows machine it is SHIFT/CONTROL +U on a Mac it is SHIFT/COMMAND +U. This desaturates the image, so it is the same as opening saturation CMD + U and pulling the saturation slider fully to the left. To turn the MASK between black and white it is CMD+I. cheers
Hope you don't mind me saying, but because I really have to concentrate to follow your excellent tutorial I'm finding the background music really distracting. It is just faint enough to sound like clock chiming constantly. But it's probably just me!
Thanks for letting me know, this was one of my early videos where I was trying different things, I now don't use background music as I agree it can be a bit distracting, cheers and thanks for the feedback, it actually is very helpful to find out these things.
@@deancooperphotography2896 Thanks Dean. I think the fact it was quite faint made it worse ironically, but it's probably just me! But glad it was helpful. Brilliant videos, thank you so much.

Hi Dean, what is the short cut to change the image become white black color ?

@@deancooperphotography2896 thank you bro...
@@deancooperphotography2896 Great, but iow do you turn the colour back on?
@@kbstabs5982 you can’t other than going back in your history, this is why we do it on a copied layer, the colour layer is preserved below , cheers
