PNG is a place too dangerous to live. Unpredictable ang locals especially if they are drunk. Friday and Saturday night nagkalat ang lasing sa kalsada. Kapag may car ka at nasiraan ka at night, eh delikado. We had so many break ins in my 7 years stay in Port Moresby. But on the bright side, makakaipon ka talaga sa bansang yan. In the 80's, PNG is like100 years behind in civilization, NO TV, and only 1 radio station, and that was in Port Moresby. But I love the place, abundant in seafood at mura and my family sleep around 8pm, kasi wala ng gagawin.

My first experience and impression when I arrived in the Philippines, especially when I checked in the hotel, I was so amazed they don't have toilet tissue, instead there was a small bucket with a cup like thing placed inside and filled it with water. Although I really needed to use the toilet at that moment, I forced myself and hold it back and rushed out of the hotel to a near by store and bought myself a tissue. After the horrible experience, I asked some Filipinos why they don't have toilet tissue in the toilet, instead the bucket and water? They told me they don't know how to use toilet tissue, they usually use their bare hands to wipe their butts after using the toilet. WHAAATT!!!, I almost screamed, I was shocked with their responds, I was thinking, we only wipe the butts of little kids and totally not for this full grown-up adults 🤣... Anyway, from than on, I always carry tissue in my bag wherever I go in the Philippines, even going to the mall or visiting a Filipino home. And one thing I always remind myself every time when in the Philippines is never to shake hands with Filipinos. Stay a distance and greet them is already enough for me but shaking hands, no no no...☹️
Hehe you make me smile but its a yes 🙂 @hics thank you so much for comment and sharing your experiences really a big help for others specially to those watching my vlog right now 🙂
That’s what foreigners in the PH don’t understand. If a poop get into your knee, would you just wipe it with a tissue? For us Filipinos, we don’t just wipe it, we also wash it with soap and water. Same thing when we go to the toilet, we’re not satisfied with just wiping our bum with tissue. We go to the next level of sanitation and wash with soap and water then wash our hands second round with soap and water while most of you foreigners are satisfied with just wiping your bum with tissue.
