I too am pleased that Satoshis' pronunciation is clear and understandable. Great video content as per usual. Would have been in Tokyo 9th April , well next year perhaps. These ramen eatery's are going on my ever growing to do list. Stay safe.
Right! I wonder if he may watch videos about food lovers or masterchefs, describing food in every detail and not only the taste, also like "feelings" while eating because I love how he describes what you feel, it's on another level now. Thank you Satoshi for all your effort and I would love to learn more japanese expressions too ^^/
From my experience (limited, as it may be), many Japanese have learned English pretty well, but feel embarrassed to speak it if they don't feel they can do it well enough.
its a chain but i love hakata furyu ramen!! its in tokyo and its soo delicious. creamy tonkotsu with garlic oil, ajitama, and lots of green onion. i always add the extra minced garlic thats on every table, and i like to add some of the savory extract as well to give it a big umami kick! this is my perfect bowl.
Satoshi’s English is so good! The ramen all looks good. I think the first one is my favorite. It looked especially delicious. Get well soon Shinichi ❤️
I will have to try all of these when I return to Tokyo. But for me, the most mindblowing ramen in Tokyo is from Men Mitsuwi (麺 みつヰ) in Asakusa. I tried a lot of ramen (and I mean a LOT) during a long trip to Japan, but this place just has the most perfectly balanced flavor I have ever experienced. I had to return three times to try everything. This was the place that finally showed me how good shoyu ramen can truly be, and their ginger bowl is so delicate and refreshing. The kicker is the chef's unique broad and wavy noodles, you simply MUST choose those when visiting.
Ramen is my fave food from Japan and I loved watching this video during lunch. Hope Shinichi feels better soon and you guys are back to your usual adventures.
Honestly can not wait for the day I can visit Japan 😄😄😄 Between the amazing places to visit, the beautiful country and Culture, and foods I'm most excited for the foods!!! And these videos make me that much more excited to be able to visit this beautiful country
The best ramen I have ever had was the tori paitan from Menya Syo in Shinjuku! The chicken flavour of the broth is SO concentrated and just insanely hearty and delicious. I don't normally like revisiting restaurants when I'm travelling because I want to try a new restaurant and have a new experience every meal, but I will absolutely go back for that bowl of ramen many times when I go back to Japan!
I loved eating ramen when I was an exchange student in Tokyo. I can't remember the name, but there was this amazing hole in the wall place about a block or two from Shinjuku Station I went to a few times. Wonderful video, as always.
My favourite ramen place isn't even on google maps but it's a really small place off main street in Tsuyama-shi out in like the more commercial area east. It's specialty is Tonkotsu and they have a special spicy one served in a red bowl that is heavenly, the only bad thing is it's soo good I end up eating it super fast and then it's gone...
I hope you guys eat more Xiao Long Bao and such, since all our places are shut down. sigh. I miss them so much....and all Asian foods, this filled me up as I watched! Stay safe guys, and everyone!
Brilliant concept for videos in this time. I hope your best of video gets a lot of views because it deserves them. Which is my favorite? Satoshi always has my vote when he says "delicious."
The best ramen I've had in Albuquerque, where I live now, is at a small pan-Asian restaurant called Fun Noodle Bar; they do noodle soups from across Asia, and all their noodles are hand pulled or hand sliced. They have excellent soups and appetizers as well.
Very surprised that Ichiran wasn't on your list- the video you guys made about going there was very good, and if I were to visit I for sure would be checking that place out.
This is such a great idea for videos while you're both social distancing! And now I have a very convenient list to work my way through when I come to visit Tokyo next year. I hope you're both staying safe and healthy!
I’m lucky to live in an area with a lot of Japanese so I have some great ramen restaurants around. Umenoya, Mendoki, Tsujita to name a few but none of which stack up to the likes you’ll find out there! I recently had an opportunity to try the tsukemen from Tomita but unfortunately it was the one in Narita airport. Still, it was by far and away my favorite tsukemen I have eaten to date! Can’t wait to go on more ramen adventures in Japan in the near future and these 5 are absolutely on my list. Thank you!
Wow! I wish I had known of you guys before I visited Tokyo a few years ago. I found Afuri Ramen one day walking the streets in Shinjuku. We spent 10 days in Tokyo, and we'd eat all types of different food, then around 9-10pm, I'd still want to have a bowl at Afuri...Tokyo station, Shinjuku, whichever we were closer to...I imagine we ate "2nd dinner" or "2nd lunch" there perhaps 7 out of 10 days!
There are thousands of ramen shops in Japan. You have to try a lot to be able to compare. First you have to know what type of soup you like. There are fish base, pork base, chicken base, seafood, and combinations. If you know which ones you like, you can narrow your choices. I am not a fan of chicken broth ramen and I usually go for fish (niboshi) base. After some strenuous exercise, I want thick pork broth (tonkotsu) ramen.
Great to see that you are both well and eating wonderful foods! I very much enjoy your videos and hope that you will be blessed with continuous good health.
Satoshi is so savage :D "you want to eat? I'm gonna eat!" :D I really liked the looks of #3's soups, hope to try them one day. I also want to go back to Nara to have the ramen at 夢街道 again (奈良県奈良市四条大路2丁目1−53), it was really good on a cool January afternoon :)
Great video. Stay safe and stay well, you two. My family and I can’t wait to return to Japan and have some delicious ramen again. Bookmarking these places and we will try them in person! Take care!
Loved this video! Loved seeing all the cool places that TabiEats has been and ramen from different places. I have a favorite ramen place in Pittsburgh, PA called 'Ramen Bar'. Small, quaint Ramen spot with delicious ramen!
We have an Ippudo Ramen not far away, as well as another in the same complex called Noodling. We haven’t explored many independents here yet. Ippudo was INSANE:)
Another great video guys. I've been enjoying your work for a while now and I took a lot of your advice for my recent month long stay in Tokyo over the New Year break. I was really happy to see Tatsunoya in your list of the best Ramen in Tokyo. I was staying in Okubo so Tatsunoya was conveniently on my regular 15 minute walk home from Shinjuku. I followed the classic rule that if there is a line up, they must be doing something right. It quickly became my favorite noodle shop for my trip. There was something very comforting about the flavour of the soup that kept me coming back even though there are so many other places in Shinjuku. I'm glad to see that it's not just me that feels this way about it. But I do have to say that I liked their Tsukemen even more than their Tonkotsu Ramen. Stay safe and be well.
Yummmm it all looks so good! When we went to Japan we went to the ramen museum and they had ramen restaurants there and we ate at one that was fantastic as well! I miss it sooo much
I am salivating! ツ Thank you, Satoshi, for the research and the great narration! Another wonderful, informative video. I've posted this video on Pinterest and for the sake of my followers there, I'll echo Fritz Bo's request to have names of the restaurants and their addresses added to the video description. 👍
Great video and yes the last two looked supremely delicious. One for every day of the week , with having the last two twice sunday and Saturday lol. Best of luck your channel's are awesome.
I'd kill to try some authentic ramen like these I live in southern California and the spots I went too were not great. Wish I could go to Japan! Love your videos
Great vid guys. I need to stop watching Ramen vids, makes me so hungry for it. When I was little I had no access to any places that served Ramen so I would experiment putting different things in those boil and eat dried ramen noodles like canned veg or veg beef soup, cut up left over pork or beef and other various left over vegetables. I had no chopsticks so I used two of my un-sharpened colored pencils heeheehee.
wish I could taste at least one of them, all look delicious. Sidenote I don't see a lot of comments complaining about the chef not using gloves, it is because it is not a "street food" video? The comment section can be really inconsistent at times.
Hi, I’m from Indonesia. When I go to Japan, I always have Ayam-Ya Ramen in Tokyo Okachimachi or near Kyoto Station or in Namba-Osaka. I think it’s the best ramen (halal) in the world!
Sugoi! I was never a ramen girl, that is, until TabiEats! 🥰 I wish I didn’t, but I still have issues with the richness of tonkotsu style broth(s). Mmmmm....Shoyu ramen! Now you’re talkin! Now, I want ramen! Thank you brother Satoshi, for narrating this video! You’re awesome! The next time, I see you, could you please teach me how to slurp my noodles? 🥰 Please take care boys! I cannot wait until you’re both feeling 100% again! ♥️♥️
Ramen in soup is not my favourite, but I do love tsukenmen and hiyashi chuka. We don't have any ramen restaurants nearby; closest is in Rotterdam so that takes about an hour to get there. If I want something with ramen i have to make it at home myself. Recently I found a good tsukemen recipe using quiet thick pieces of pork belly and I have sucha refreshinh hiyashi chuka recipe I never try any other even though I would love to try it with a sesame dressing once hahaha
I continue to be impressed with the growth in Satoshi's English.
I too am pleased that Satoshis' pronunciation is clear and understandable. Great video content as per usual. Would have been in Tokyo 9th April , well next year perhaps. These ramen eatery's are going on my ever growing to do list. Stay safe.

Never get tired of ramen videos. Enjoy your channel immensely. Stay safe.
It is so good to see your channel growing. Hope you guys are staying safe and healthy.
1st good thing about coronavirus. Tabieats needs to b on Japan’s tourism’ payroll. And, as always MORE SATOSHI!
Agreed. Love Satoshi!
Love him TOO

Watched you guys for the first time yesterday. Great content you guys are awesome
I completely agree Satoshi. I could eat a bowl of Ramen everyday. My favorite is Tonkotsu, Shio Tare.
I would love to have food like this where I live. Healthy, affordable, and delicious. America could definitely learn a lot from Japan.
So happy that Nogata Hope was first! It’s my joint favorite with Tenkaippin. So glad there’s one close to me! Excited to go back after corona!
I loved eating ramen when I was an exchange student in Tokyo. I can't remember the name, but there was this amazing hole in the wall place about a block or two from Shinjuku Station I went to a few times. Wonderful video, as always.
hey. what does ramen taste like? 😔

I just love you both. I am a new viewer and am going to make ramen later for my family! Satoshi your english is EXCELLENT.
Hope to see more Frank in future ramen tours! Love these ramen videos, reminds me of the old ramen hunt series.
Would you be able to put in your video description the names and locations of the ramen shops? Thank you!
yes please! need to put them on our list for the next Japan trip hehe
The Shinbu Sakiya looks really appetizing actually
Very surprised that Ichiran wasn't on your list- the video you guys made about going there was very good, and if I were to visit I for sure would be checking that place out.
Awesome video. Thank you. Can you suggest some Kumamoto style ramen in Tokyo? Never had one better than Tengaiten😀😀
This is such a great idea for videos while you're both social distancing! And now I have a very convenient list to work my way through when I come to visit Tokyo next year. I hope you're both staying safe and healthy!
I just found your channel and I LOVE YOU GUYS!
When I visit Tokyo again, I will definitely try Tatsunoya.
I’m lucky to live in an area with a lot of Japanese so I have some great ramen restaurants around. Great! This is very nice. Looking forward to the next one. Maybe another behind the scenes video? How do you plan your videos?

We have a Kizuki ramen where I live. It's soooo good! Now I'm hungry. Can't wait to actually eat in a restaurant again.

Looks delicious 🍜👍
I'd kill to try some authentic ramen like these I live in southern California and the spots I went too were not great. Wish I could go to Japan! Love your videos
Kurt Cobain staring at us through your noodles at the spicy noodle place was funny.
