- Visiting OOTY after 15 years. Banglore to Ooty Road Trip Via 36 Hairpin bends one of the most scenic route of South India.
Our road trip started in month of May morning 4:00 am and reached OOTY by 10.30am. Bandipur tiger reserve road opens at 6 am and closes evening 5 pm for animals movement. Total journey time including breakfast break 6.35 hrs. After covering 2 tourist places we checked in our resort Mango Hill.
We took Bangalore Mysore express way- Bandipur - Mudumalai- Masinagudi - 36 Hairpin bends- Ooty route. This route allowed for Uphill only

Loved watching the video from Florida. I last saw Ooty when we lived there for the summer in 1969. My sister actually died up there and is buried at the Church of St. Thomas. She died in 1959. We absolutely loved Ooty! I even have a few pics of us up there. Climbing that road in our old car was amazing, because there was on air conditioning then, so it was so nice to experience the cool. Will never forget it! Thanks Perky Sun!

Amazing place is Ooty. Good place to hangout the Safari duration and distance is very small they will just do half circle around the Forest reception area. Official Safari is for 1hr and 10 min but if you didn't spot anything will end in just 40 min. Safari has No guide and driver will ask to see left or right. Can spot peacock, deer, tiger and elephant easily but same u can see on the Masinagudi main road. Will recommend to take Bus safari cost is less. The Eucalyptus plantation can observed both side of road and coffee plantation too.
Place is amazing with wild animals. We watched the elephants with calf other animals such as dear ,wild pig . We booked the cottage via online while booking rooms you can also book the safari tour as well via online only. Earlier safari Starts from Bandipur Tiger reserve reception but now they changed to other place which is 7km from cottage. It known mainly tiger reserve..

You can't predict the weather in ooty ,the Nilgries district, tamilnadu. You can see only deer 🦌 and Peacock 🦚, elephant if you are lucky, In masinagudy ,you can have hot baggie and tea ,after that you can accelerate your vehicle and cross the 36 hairpin bends .in the 9th hairpin bend, there is one coffee shop,experience the taste of tea/coffee. You can stay ,hotel durga, charring cross ooty, beautiful accommodation, with carparking 😊

@@Perkysun Not last Saturday but before that 09-12-2023 Saturday i met one of my friend and asked him about Ooty the answer from my Friend was that Ooty is so beautiful and my friend told me i went with my Wife and kids in car and while coming back i came on 30th December coz on 31st December there will be traffic chaos on the road and while coming back from Ooty to our home i started at morning 05:00 am and while on the top of the Ghat road the view was breathtaking and the Ghat road is very dangerous one must drive the car very carefully and i asked my friend about going to Ooty on bike from our place he said that you have to go through Bandipur Tiger Reserve and the forest staff near the entrance to the start of the Bandipur Tiger Reserve they won't allow you to go on bike as there will be tigers roaming on the road but if you are in car they will allow you and you wil be safe as well. So @Perkysun i want to know is it allowed to go on bike inside Bandipur Tiger Reserve & Mudumulai Tiger Reserve. Kindly answer me.... Thank you.

Are you allowed to carry liquor for personal use to ooty? Do they check at masinagudi checkpost for other state vehicles.

Now while entering BTR they charge 30 rupees for all vehicles. No exception for KA passing.

First think our Resort location was really good, from thr different routes were luckly not went to much traffic.
We were leaving early in the morning before having breakfast to Visit spots to avoid crowd.

Bikes are allowed in bandipur route or only 4wheeler?
It's allowed no problem. Only don't stop anywhere.
Is the bridge opened from Masinagudi towards Madumalai

There is a small bridge that was there earlier and later closed for rebuilding. The last time in October 2022 when I travelling the bridge was closed. Hence we had to go round about.
Much before Old Bridge I have to take left turn near forest Bungalows
This road is short and Ghat of 36 hair bands
Do we still need e pass if travelling from Bengaluru to Ooty in June 2023

You can avoid hairpin bends by choosing another route which is via Gudalur while returning from Ooty we took tht route. You can chk channel video is thr.🙏
