Yeah It's crazy to think about that if the Director wasn't so famous and/or Martin Scorsese didn't re-release the movie it may have been straight up lost

One of my favourite films of all time. I remember seeing it at the original Scala Cinema in Tottenham Street, London, before it moved to the old primatarium in King's Cross. A terrific film. The colour palette drew me in completely and I must admit to squirming in my seat as I watched. Mind you, I was only a 19 year old skinhead working on the building sites as a hod carrier at the time and not the cultural, well into my 60s now, sophisticated skinhead I am today. I went to see this film on a double bill alongside The Life and Times of Colonel Blimp because I had really enjoyed the Press burger & Powell masterpiece starring David Niven, A Matter of Life and Death. Super films all three.

Watched it in English class at school in the mid 1980s on a VHS so the teacher must have recorded it off TV. We performed an analysis of the film and although I cant remember much, I do remember the class enjoyed the experience as this particluar teacher went out of his way to make creative writing in English class as memorable as possible (I think we were analysing screenplays at this stage).

brilliant movie, First saw it on late night tv here in Australia and it was a bit of a late night staple, often being repeated. Seems there was more a stomach for the movie here in the land of Powell's exile than his home country. Glad he did come to Australia and make "They're a Weird Mob". Always a treat to see Peeping Tom, late at night. The DVD sits next to Blow Up, Blow Out and The Conversation in my collection.

Watched it for Eurpean Cinema course at Sussex University in the mid 1990s. Odd, but entertaining.

Peeping Tom is an excellent film! I don't have BFI Player, but I might have to re-watch it on blu ray this weekend!

Brilliant, but the critics were right. It's a cinematic sewer of a movie.

i'm going to assume you're time traveling (or really old) 1960's british film critic, because that's the only person who could conceivably still think this about this tepid little film.

Because it portrays a serial killer sympathetically?
