Moon is an awesome artisan, tobacco flower sounds like a nice scent. If a person can put an edge on a stock gold dollar, they can put an edge on anything- a butter knife, lawnmower blade, you name it 😂

I have made 4 orders with them and have always at least got a sample. I think they must do it with every order. Moon Soaps is awesome! Their products outside of shaving are nice too.

You’ll get the honing thing my friend just keep at it . I’ve had two Geneva straights & both had really hard steel , they took great edges , just had to work to get them . Thanks for your generosity .

@@buddyblankenship4186 I was using it for post-finishing. In other words, I'd already finished on the ozuku but I took it to the ark for a little fine polishing.
I need another soap like I need more taxes, but some of those Moon soaps have my interest. Also looking forward to PAA Et Tu.

I got one of those Zertones to practice honing on and got a decent edge. I do like the weight, it's got a nice heavy feel.

Keep at those edges brother. Last weekend I used an edge I touched up but was also sick. I don’t know if it was me or the razor, but I didn’t enjoy the shave. I’ll have to revisit since I was so out of it. Feeling great know though. Enjoyed the video bud.

They have a balm I believe. Zip Pep from Razorock would be a decent complimentary aftershave I would think.

Just love the moon soaps.. & most of the scents too, though I haven't yet tried the tobacco flower.. As a matter of fact I love tobacco scent.. May I suggest pairing it with a green vetiver AS

So I think whoever posted the other day about listening at 2x speed was making a joke, but I actually prefer it! I don’t always have 20-30 minutes to watch a shaving video from one of my favorite wet shaving channels 😉, but I can still very easily understand what you’re saying at 2x playback speed! #WinWin!!! 😀
The winner will always be announced at some point. Maybe less than a week, maybe a week:) That said, I try to keep the vast majority of my videos under $20 minutes. I'm not the least bit offended if people watch at faster speeds as I also have to do this sometimes. I can't do it for the fast talkers though, they are too difficult to understand at that speed.

You don’t have to disclose, but as someone who’s just about to start maintaining his edges on his own at home, I’m curious and/or seeking reassurance: how many razors did it take before you started feeling somewhat comfortable with honing, or how many attempts before you started getting edges you really liked? Thanks 🙏
Thanks John. I did quite a bit of studying and talking to people before I started. In all honesty, I've only had one really bad edge since I've started and that was this one. All the other edges were at least shaveable without being too rough. The very first edge I produced was perfectly shaveable. The key is to learn to consistently put out an edge that's both sharp and smooth enough for your preference. I'd say I've absolutely nailed a handful of edges to suit me but all the rest I felt I can improve on. I think that's exactly where most new folks will be. Shoot for shaveable and comfortable first then try to improve on it each time. I think this is one of those things where putting in the work makes all the difference. Just keep doing it and keep trying to make incremental improvements. The consistency will come over time with experience and learning I think.

I have a sample of Tobacco Flower and scent is amazing. I'm afraid to use the sample because I just like smelling it everyday, I will have to cave and buy the puck. I'm also on the hunt for a Pipe Tobacco forward scent, does Moon Soaps Havana have that? So far PAA's Cavendish is on my radar, but I looking at others as well. Appreciate your insights! It's a nice scent for sure. Havana doesn't have a pipe tobacco IMO. I think Uncle Jon's has a pipe tobacco scent.
Moon's "Old School" would do the trick if you like the warmer pipe tobacco vibe

I'm not generally a fan of tobacco soaps, but I love tobacco blossom soaps. I can't do menthol, though.
This one is very light in menthol. It's nothing that would overwhelm most folks.
@@IAMCDB It's not the cooling I mind, it irritates my skin. I can handle menthol in a splash every once in a while. I've never done well with it in soaps.

Looking for your opinion: better scent, A&E SoCal Hipster or PAA The Beach? I’m really torn between these two for a fun in the sun type summer scent.
Both:) That's like choosing between your favorite children. Two totally different type of scents. If you want a pineapple blast, go for hipster. If you want 70's suntan lotion, go with the beach.

I'm sure you own Razorock Zi Pep. How does the Moon soap compare scent wise?
I'd say Zi Pep is a little sweeter and this one is a little greener. If I like Zi Pep I think you might also like this one.
It being a cheaper razor I would imagine their steel and heat treating process probably aren’t very well regulated, which may prevent the bad examples from taking a very keen edge. It might just be the razor. It would obviously be more expensive but you may learn more from sharpening nicer razors 🤷🏻♂️
This one had a nice edge before so I'm sure I can get a nice edge on it again. I do understand your point though.
