- Insomnium has always been one of my favorite Melodic Death Metal bands and I was very excited to do a cover of this amazing song which was released a month ago! I hope you enjoy my piano version of it!

I always tried to explain to my mum that metal was my classical music, crafted with just as much care and attention to detail as classical music. As a grown man with my own kids now I still feel the same. This piece is just perfect. If she were still alive today this might have convinced her that I was right :) Thank you!

I love that piano renditions of metal songs allow people who might dislike the heavier elements in the music to appreciate the melodic aspect of it, which I believe many metal heads find to be the most enjoyable part of the music

Right in the feels! If you’re ever bored and looking for another cover to do, “song of the blackest bird” is a gem of a tune. I am absolutely in love with the last 2 1/2 minutes of that perfect piece of music.

Back again for another listen, and I still can;t get over how perfectly you played the song. I'm in awe of your talent on the piano. My son is just learning to play the piano at the age of 15. He loves 'The Day That Never Comes' by Metallica, an incredibly hard piece to learn for a beginner. But I love that he loves the same songs as me, and you gotta have something to inspire you to keep trying. Thanks again for this masterpiece. I think Johann Bach would of loved that haha
