What a great episode, Really good to see those tunnels again. I had the chance to walk those CSLR tunnels all the way to the mesh fence a couple of times while doing some surving for work. Its very dusty down there for sure, at the time there were only my footprints left in the dust beyond the point where the site lighting stopped, it was torches to light the way after that! Cant wait for the next eposide and then Series 7 Great work as always!
Than you for a great year and all through Covid. Our sanity was saved by you three with your lovely off beat humour, accurate info. without being total anoraks. Shame there isn't an OSCAR for vlogging, you'd certainly deserve one.
This was fascinating. This tunnel seems to go under the burial yard at St. George the Martyr, Southwark, (11.32) where I used to be a parishioner. That whole church was built on wooden stilts c. 1750 in the old marsh. The church was renovated c. 2000 to give it concrete footings and a proper crypt. So all this is pretty squishy land. Carrying on further might have been a travesty.
I love it when you guys are on site. Maybe next year do more on site eposides please. They are so awesome and we get to see stuff that normally no one gets to see. Great awesome eposides once again. So many sites we didn't know existed. Great show again.
What a great episode as always from the team , looking forward to Kentish town episode next week and your new series in 2023, hope to experience one of your tours in 2023 if I can get time to visit London, keep up your good work and thanks
The white Granada Plugs also came with Fridges that I think you could rent from them ( they are MK ones rebranded) white does not really look right on the brown TV/Radio/Gramophone player cable
Merry Christmas HLH Team. Thanks for another informative, educational year of Hangouts. Also very excited that Series 1 of Secrets of London Underground has made its way to Australian (pay)TV . Looking forward to seeing Siddy and Tim’s work on this.
Always love watching these episodes. Merry Christmas to you all, Chris, Siddy, Laura and the Wonderful Alex. Also Merry Christmas to all the viewers/listeners/readers 🎄
Alex, you’ve seen a ‘bitumen globulin’ before, but I bet they came as a pair! Fascinating to see part of the ‘Northern line’ that’s not been in service for over 130 years! Keep it up, guys, still enjoying HLH very much!
I always though the King William Street tunnels were used as cables ( was the pneumatic railway tunnel used to run water pipes for the london hydraulic company ?
Amazing to see that Southbound platform at Bank before the upgrade! You can see my video of the old spiral staircase that used to link Northern to Central lines at: ua-cam.com/video/kW6DyvlHMjo/v-deo.html
Another fantastic episode from all of you, thank you… Chris can I ask about the pillar drill? I’m looking for one myself, but no one I know has one.. trying to find recommendations is a nightmare, yours looks rather nice 😊 would you Recommend it? Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas 🙂
Hi Steve. Yes my little pillar drill is very handy for odd jobs but I bought it 24years ago from B&Q so it is unlikely to be a current model! It has been very reliable and I think they still make a similar one. If I was replacing it I’d probably get the small one from Axminster tools.
Thank you for responding and thank you for the information, I have seen the drill in the background many times, always wanted to ask. I’ll take a look in to Axminster tools asap, I think a Christmas present to myself is on the cards. Have a great Christmas 🙂
@@alexgrundon2346 hi!! Big fan! 👋👋 When the premiere was posted yesterday, the video title had the full video filename including the .mp4 extension -- no biggy
You really do dive deep into the history of the underground, thanks guys
Thankyou for sharing.
Great to see this, what a great bit of history. I love these little gems you guys unearth and share.

Have you ever visited the Belsize Park shelter? I am going to stay nearby on a future trip and I wonder what's in there!

Is that an old old one or more recent out of use (not used them going up or down for a few years now )
@@highpath4776 it's the staircase I used from 2005 until retirement in 2020. It closed a few months ago.

can that blue crown poster be recreated from other sources ?
Was there a separate tunnel at Stainer Street? I used to live in that area and know that a lot of people died there.
When is the next episode availible for 2023 coming as not getting anything for this year missing it hoping it is coming soon can you let me know asap
Hi all
That was/was not the The Waterloo & City Line?
Please more plugs.
Think the video name might need updating
Did someone cut and paste the filename .mp4? Or is this a clue?
I think the museum has just hyphenated deep-shelter to separate it from a shelter. I may be wrong but the name is basically correct
Alex. Did you put your Christmas tree up yourself ? 😮
