  • Light Painting Trees At Night - Woodland Photography with the Canon R5
    #landscapephotography #lightpaintingphotography #photography
Experiment with the enchantment of the twilight using light painting! This method will infuse energy into your evening forest captures. You'll require a camera with long exposure capability, a tripod, and a flashlight.
Begin by positioning your camera on a tripod, compose your frame and focus on your subject, which in this case is the tree. Adjust your camera's exposure time to a minimum of 30 seconds.
Upon initiating the exposure, illuminate your tree with your flashlight, shifting it around to 'paint' with the light. Try different movements to achieve distinct effects.
In summary, light painting offers a straightforward yet potent way to bring a mystical glow to your after-dark woodland imagery. Remember, mastery comes with practice. This is the beginning of my light series, I plan to upload two podcasts a month with two main videos in the field taking images. Thank you to all of your who have followed me and supported the channel, I hope you enjoy the videos and audio stories going forwards. Also, yes we are almost in Spring! Winter has almost left us :)

Great vlog Suzannah, something a bit different for sure and a great idea. The images you got worked so well..The darkness creates that separation that you often need in woodland that normally only comes from mist. Very inspirational, thank you.

Oh man, I haven't done night time light painting in a lonnnng time, thanks for this Suzannah, it reminds me of how the calming focus of creating an image literally out of a dark canvas is like. I may have to go out and do this soon. Another awesome video! 😊👍
