Hello guys, I want to thank everyone for watching this video and taking the time to comment. One of the most commented things is to Wear a Mask for safety, and to use a thinner to Save on Brushes. Rest assured, I will definitely take those tips in consideration for my next fiberglass project. Once again, Thank You and God Bless!
Thinner for the brushes?? I know you were just being polite bro and that is very cool of you to not be a dick to your subscribers like many other channels would have done. That being said, allow me to take that role for you!! Are you people eating paint chips?? For real!! First of all if you have ever worked with fiberglass resin then you would know how thick and sticky it is. You would use 3 dollars in thinner to save a 89 cent chip brush. I never went to school for any type of accounting or book keeping but I can say that is not a good idea to do! LoL for real though, those chip brushes he is using are made for one time use for projects like this one. You can get them for around a dollar depending on the size and even less if you get them by the box. Plus when he showed how to stick the brush in the mixing tub then letting it dry and pulling it out in one big chunk like that is oh so satisfying for some reason! Dont ask me why because I cant tell you exactly why, but it just is!! The part with the safety glasses and a mask though I definitely agree with everyone else on that! Its itchy and when its hot having on a mask really sucks, but years from now you will be glad you did!! Part looks awesome too by the way!
i just want to say, I used to work in a carbon fiber/ fiberglass shop. We made everything from go karts to airplane wings, You need the roller to remove all the small air pockets in the material, You may not see them but small air pockets can cause it to splinter after a short amount of time and crack, it will give you a longer part life if you roll it, You need a respirator, you dont want it in your lungs, Clear fibers that you cannot cough up. Think about that, one other thing is I would save some time and money and just grab a dremel with a cutting tool, a grinder is okay, but you can cut faster and more precise with a dremel with a cutting wheel.
I like your diy approach instead just buying stuff and bolting it on. It shows that with some patience and hard work you can build anything. Great job!
Awesome video! I think I am now confident enough to make some fibre glass pieces for my car 🤔 looks fairly simple, just follow instruction for the resin and brush on 👍🏼👍🏼
Hiram Geary yea! and I have one, but it's the chemical mask I use for painting. its bulky and heavy tho. I was already past halfway grinding off the edges when I thought of it
@@GTsPerformance the white pads on the chemical mask are made to block dust...its as bad as asbestos..it will get u in the futur..like it did for me. Very nice lip tho!
Instead of wasting brush, you can immerse the brush onto the paint thinner every time you want to take brake for the new layer. I only use 1 brush for each project.
no trash talking, no product advert, straight to the point, showing us how to do it. Nice video man, and yea use mask bro, *sniff sniff* So i need to WAX it so i can remove it later right?
Nice work brother! Very legit outcome. Only advice is please wear painters mask very least. Otherwise a respirator. Fiberglass particles are no joke in your loungs
One of the best homemade fibreglass kit making videos in youtube so far. Next time maybe use a respirator mask because the fume is not a pleasant thing to inhale. Keep up them good work mate.
Cool budd I have that car but with the cyborg rubber bumper with the type r front lip and I will be mounting the stock front lip but i have to make some cut here and there.
1 question: how long does the mixture of resin last during applications to put on the fiberglass before it dries? Thanks for putting out this vid, bro. I've been searching for a custom shop to mold a body kit for my car but there are none in site or none that I can afford. With this fiberglass tutorial, I'll be able to make my own kit!
When r u planning on completing the front bumbers eargely waiting to see the end product.and start on the rear bumpers.causei am planning on doing the same on my car aswell....this initative of urs will help a lot of ppl save tons of money saved.Watched ur video for the first time today and i was like what........amazing stuff bro keep onn.
Man you make it look so easy. I can’t even use double sided tape properly. Love the video, just use a mask next time. Don’t breath those fibreglass dust
Yes good job 👍 and beats paying over priced shit out thier something from what your making after taxes and shipping 500.00 or more . 100 bucks you can do all that regardless nicely done again
Hi there. First of all, I've watched this video multiple times to get someone guidance and tips on how to do my first ever Fibre glass project. Please could you share the ratios to use.
So what you did was, u put some fiberglass on exsisting lip. Then u cuttit to a shape. And what u are left with is cover for your lip? Or i am missing somthing here? And a lil tip, use a roller for a painting a wall. Brush is to messy u know. Paint roller works amazing. Tryit, your gonna luv it. Best of luck.
Drew Nottz I buy the brushes from harbor freight. These 2" come in a box of 36 for about $12, but I guess you're right.. I could extend the life just by cleaning them once or twice, and save a few coin on the long run. 🙂👍
GT's Performance I'm betting it's cheaper to toss them like you've been doing. Thinner is expensive and that resin is so sticky I doubt you'd get them clean.
Wear gloves and a mask while messing with fiber glass bro. I got some serious rashes from glass wool and some also made into my eyes. Just a tip so you won't have any issues. Amazing video! Thanks.

The cheaper and best way To keep the brush clean is washing powder, just mix some wasing powder in the water and clean the brush b4 it gets hard
Thank you for the tips, your video helps a lot!
Man this guy is great.i will surely use this idea to make one on for my car...

How resistance is the fiberglass? It can support small hits?
Yo bro trust me... your more of a car guy than 90% of this rich spoiled mommy and daddy’s boys on youtube. Great stuff bro
I like your diy approach instead just buying stuff and bolting it on. It shows that with some patience and hard work you can build anything. Great job!
Thank you, and I appreciate your concern! I will definitely be more safe with future projects 🙏

Nice work man. I attempted this years ago and failed. You did a hell of a job in this video. I like that "shake the hell out it" test at the end!

Have to say this is one of the most detailed DIY car projects I have seen

should say on the pack when you buy the filler
Hey bro. You have any tips or info on painting a fibreglass bumper ? What prep techniques do you use / sanding / painting.

Bro I would love to see your work for a long time. Please use PPE. Gloves even if the fibers are dry, glasses and a respirator. Good work.
See you used alot of brushes. You could clean the brushes in lacquer thinner in between steps to make your brushes last longer.
