Glad you both are okay and thank you for documenting your adventure. As a native Floridian who has been through tropical storms and hurricanes, it's never fun to go through them but they sure are a learning experience for everyone. So glad you all are okay.

Glad you guys weathered the storm ok, and thanks for the great footage! I live in Texas where rain and winds like this (and much worse) are par for the course, but I've also lived in California and know that this sort of weather is definitely NOT on the menu very often! Happy to see the sun is out.

So glad all is well and no real damage was done x The water in your backyard was a lot. That happens here too when the rain falls faster than it drains off. Lots of water!, Maybe the desert will enjoy that water. x

The Desert isn't equipped to handle this kind of rain. A friend of mine lost her roof. House was flooded. Glad you guys are safe. Thanks Scott.

Jesus Christ California has excellent drainage. I used to work for OCSD. Funny how Californians get a little bit of rain and they get scared and the end of the world is coming. I lived many years in the inland empire but finally made my escape to the Midwest.,,. I can tell you rain, and wind is something else here and will never compare to California so called “hurricane “😂. Newsom might need to call a state of emergency 🤦🏻♂️

Storm chasing with Scott! Fun video documenting a historic weather event. And it's certainly more than rain, as much as people outside of CA try to downplay it. Yes, we get massive storms in the Midwest (where I am), but we don't have the funneling effect of mountains channeling even more water our way on top of what's coming from the sky.
I'm happy everyone is OK there. I hope the damage to property is not too costly.

It is interesting to think that those swollen washes and rushing streams are just water that condensed out of the atmosphere in a relatively short time period. Our planet is amazing. I love Palm Springs.

We were in Palm Springs just Friday (8/18) before the Sunday storm and what a freaky difference. Fri it was sunny, clear, 107 and no wind- and then.. this happened.
It was nuts up here in the High Desert (Phelan/Hesperia/Victorville off the 15) too. No flooding, but 30 mph wind and buckets of rain. Our roof took a bit of a beating.
Then today (Mon 8/21) all sunny, calm and tra-la-la like nothing happened.

I love a good storm. I get a cup of tea a throw and sit by the window and watch in the dark and silence.
I love the sound of the rain on the window and pavements, and then the lightning and thunder is just magical.

Glad you guys are okay. I am in San Diego, we didn't get hit very hard. Rained of and on all day, then around 4:30pm the winds kicked up and so did the rain. I live on a golf course and at about 9:30pm I heard a crack, similiar to the one on your video. Woke up to a down tree. No one was injured.

I'm inviting the two of you to visit me in Florida. It has to be during a hurricane. I loved your cautious excitement about the storm. Hurricanes bring out the same in me. Thankfully, we only lost the roof last year during Hurricane Michael. It's really cool seeing weather events from other parts of the country. Glad y'all are safe. This is so interesting … at the time you showed the wash that had filled up with water where I live it was pouring and super windy (IW). The wind was shifting directions too, it was so strange. It literally came from the east and would go south and then it was coming from the west. A tree branch hit my neighbors car but it wasn’t super heavy and her car looked fine. I wish I could show you the video I took of the water running down the mountains, it sounded like a beautiful waterfall.

My friend in cathedral City lost power Sunday at 1:30 and was supposed to come back on to😅 around noon.
My other friend up in DHS in the county club area was fine

I'm thankful you all are ok. When I saw Palm Springs rain on the news I automatically thought of Scott and Troy. By the way I have a cousin in LA and he says there's a rumour going around that Leslie Van Houten got a compassionate release due to a terminal illness. I don't think ANYONE associated with the Manson family should EVER be released. Sorry for the rant. Be safe. We love y'all

We had just a lot of rain in L.A. and not the heavy winds. Glad not too bad for you guys. Hope you didn't suffer from any property damage. Much like a heavy storm in Hilo, Hawaii. Caught part of your live stream in the car. Take care.
Last time I was in that area was in 1984. Used to spend winters in Indio with my parents. I do remember some streets partly flooded. But, it receded pretty quick and we would see traffic cones and signs on dry areas where it had been flooded.
That's just another wet afternoon in northern UK! Seriously, glad that both of you are ok!
