I've been watchin haka videos for an hour. I thought finally thank for helping me stop with this nonsense 😂😂.....then u did the end and now I'm back to watching more...
I have never seen such a fun haka, I came to New Zealand to learn how to make a haka and learn about the culture, but I realized that learning is not easy here. and just as I must learn or know the culture many times in UA-cam videos. thanks for the video
You're so funny, but very clever. This is a very useful video, I will definitely show this to my students so they do the haka correctly. Thanks for sharing your culture. Greetings from Mexico city!!!
Why would anyone from Mexico ever want to learn a haka? The haka is a NZ maori tradition and has deep cultural meaning. Unless you are prepared to honour this tradition properly, keep your sticky paws off anothers cultural property!!
It is always the maori haka that gets the terrible treatment from those who think that it would be kool to do a haka. I would have the same objection to any culture icon that was being taken to where it has no meaning.
well, in Mexico we have our own traditions, but some people that do not live or are Mexican celebrated our traditions, even when they do it incorrectly, like ''5 de mayo'' or ''Dia de Los Muertos'' the only time that we made some accusation of ''cultural appropriation'' was when Disney wanted to make it a ''Trademark'' or when a Designer claim a symbolic dress as his own idea

It's so beautiful how the culture and tradition is the priority in your country. Here, in Puerto Rico, it's sad that our natives (the Taíno) are extinct. There are no "pure" natives. There's not much of them left to our generation. We are a mixture between Spaniards, Africans and Taíno. I, myself am "samba" which means that my dad was African descent and my mom native descent. Serious question. Just had a DNA test come back and I have Polynesian blood far back in my blood line. Would it be insulting if I embraced my ancestry and attempted to learn the Haka?
Rahknor in my understanding, the Maori (indigenous people and culture of New Zealand) haka (war chant/dance) is Maori and does not necessarily belong to the rest of Polynesia (though each Polynesian nation has one unique to their island nation). If you're part Maori, I think it's a great thing to learn how to do it properly from actual authorities on the matter. If you don't know which Polynesian nation your ancestors hail from, I would recommend figuring that out first. Polynesians are proud to be Polynesians, but that pride starts first with pinning down which specific nation's blood runs through your veins in my opinion.
Also, definitely embrace your heritage, but you need to pin down exactly where your Polynesian heritage because Polynesia is not one nation, its a group of many unique nations.

Let me ask something, im a Brazilian tha loves too much maori culture and also appreciate too much the Haka, my question is, as a non-maori person, can i join a haka performance if there was one happening? Or it will be disrespectful to your culture? Because i really want to do it
Do u think it would be appropriate to do it before our football games? We probably fall into the category of people u we’re making fun of haha but would it we disrespectful not all being of the culture but learning it right?
Honestly, I'd discourage it if no one authentically Maori (or born and raised in New Zealand) is on the team. I know most people mean well, but it's too sacred to the Maori to become a party trick to hype up a football team. There are other ways to hype up your team. Short answer, don't do it, lol. Serious question.....would it be disrespectful to the Maori if someone from a different Nation did this for a loved one?
Depends on a lot of factors but accuracy of words and actions is probably paramount.

No as long as you don't laugh then there is no disrespect it is fine if you aren't Maori juat as long as you respect the words that are given and do it properly

If you do it properly and acknowledge the Māori I guess not
