What Place did you get? Should have filmed race with go pro on helmet or bike mounted sure theres a way, even if people rip past you. Somebodys gotta be last, or first. Needed a pipe guard.
Probably last, I'm not sure, I was passed a lot more than I passed,
Been doing this event since I was born and racing it every year since I was 15, 100 percent just completing the race and being able to drive home right after is a win!
@@wranglerstar Long ride impresive you finished. If you didn't race it you wouldn't know your skill level probably learned a few things. Maybe different hand grips and thicker riding gloves would help with the blisters.
Lol story of my life
@@wranglerstarNot that my opinion matters, but just finishing it would be a win in my book. Driving 5 hours home is bonus points.
I'm an old desert racer from Utah who has been away from the racing side of the sport for a few decades, and the differences between now and then were brought out really well in this video. We used to go down to the races in a pickup truck, and literally sleep under the truck in the dirt the night before. I would have drooled back then to see the knee protection you had, as well as all the specialty clothing/body armor. Our high tech was drilling a hole in a canteen cap, and running an auto windshield washer hose from there up into the helmet so we could drink ala camelback style long before camelbacks came out. We raced in levi's, but had racing boots (Hi Points), helmets, and gloves. One thing looks like it hasn't changed though; it's still a lot of fun!!
I’m right there with ya brother I’m 66 years old and if my wife wouldn’t kill me I would go and break some dirt I road huskies all my life from.age 13 till a few years ago gave my grandson my bike. I was scaring roadrunners and coyotes here in Arizona forging ground where no man has ever gone. MAN I MISS IT
Great Job Cody, Glad you made it to the end unscathed. Looks like a lot of fun and challenging.
Great job Cody! You deserve a lot of credit for completing a very difficult race. Keep the dirt bike content coming.
People don't understand how hard a 100 mile race is. I raced the gncc series back when it was called the "100 miler series", including the blackwater 100. 100 miles on an old husky without a water pack is quite an experience. Nowadays I ride a new KTM 300 with all the bells and whistles and I complain if it rains too much the day before riding, haha. Sincerely, a filthy east coaster.
@mopar one. Lol. The black water 100 always had a gruesome reputation. If you hated your bike that’s where you took it.
Great stuff Cody, cheers. 🎉
Congrats Cody on finishing the race!
A sincere thank you for bringing us along. Great job! Looks like he had a lot of fun sincerely
So many fun things to watch lately. Thank you Mr. W.
I saw you filming in the distance and didnt wanna bother but really glad you came good sir! I was anticipating what you were going to say if you would do it again glad to hear you would!
Well done, this one is on my list for next year, thanks for sharing👍.
Glad you get to do things like this and glad you made it out okay.
Great video on before/after. Thanks.
I love motorcycles but never learned to ride. Always enjoy this content. Thanks for sharing your hard work!
D100 Vet here. That place is relentless rocks and whoops. Duct tape that # next year. Lol. 100miles is a great distance for an old timer. Odessa is where the dirt and the rocks are the same color and makes for extremely challenging riding. I love the terrain over there and have many, many fond memories of that race weekend. I'll be there for Poker Run next year.
Well done, awesome ride. 🙂👍🏻
When you showed the blisters, that really brought back memories. Congrats on finishing 100 miles.
Killin it Cody. Love it!
Dang, wish i saw you there! We were camped relatively close to you.
I started getting into dirt biking because of you!
My hat is off to you sir!
Those races were no joke when I was in my twenties. Sometimes just finishing felt like an accomplishment. Congratulations!
What an awesome challenge.
Good job I love how you said how rough it was and you would still do it again signs of a real man! I never raced endurance but I used to race at a place called muddy creek people just don’t understand how hard it is on you and your machine.
Nice! I've raced the Desert 100 several times, and get goosebumps watching videos like this. It is not a fun race, but the stories and sense of accomplishment are worth it. The first 20 miles are crazy. It is physically demanding. It's mentally grueling, as you're in a weird mental state of intense concentration. If you'd have told me, I would have driven over to be your pit crew (not that you have any clue who I am). I typically spend the following week or so reliving the race, and thinking about all the mistakes I made and how much better I could have finished.
Thank you for the comment. It helps explain what it's like.
Dang that looked fun. Thanks for sharing. God bless
We did the Baja 250 in Mexico. Back in the 90s. Glad they’re doing it in the USA now. Good luck to you.
That’s amazing. Good job getting out there. ❤ keep it up.
Great video mate!
Just out here living your best life possible. Truly a man amongst men!
Definitely a test of endurance for sure!
We have a few huge races out here every year. Its an offroad paradise right outside my backyard.
This is so cool, this is something I wish I could get into
That would be a day to remember. Well done 😎
Great racing!!
I tried an obsticle course race recently and failed miserably but firmly believe the challenge was worth it and being present and testing myself was a huge value add. I have work to do and it feels great to have started. Kudos to you for challenging yourself and risking your comfort and physical self. SC man tips his hat. Good form sir!
Must have missed you there this year. I’ll have to keep an eye out for you next year!
Nice! Looked fun
Very cool cody. I live jist south of red bud, here in southwest Michigan. I havent had a bike in a long time. Here lately you have been making me itch.
Nice!!!! Thank you for the bike content!!!
That’s looks super fun !
Congratulations 100 miles completed ✔️ you have a great trailer it’s beautiful. Thanks
Awesome ride Cody, thanks for sharing. Sorry for the blisters but man, a little blood makes it so much more rewarding.
Nice job! Great challenge
God speed WrangleStar. Kick butt. I want you to win!
I knew i recognized your truck yesterday! Glad you made it out.
Dude you always have the best gear set ups
Nice rig set you have looks awesome. Are family are keeping you in our prayers stay and hope you win.
Have fun, and I hope all goes well!
Awesome brother! Ol 300 did good too!
Great Job Brother 👏 👍🏼 ❤🙏
That’s a hell of a drive after that kind of ride!
The things most worth doing are usually hard. Kudos to you for getting out there.
Great year of that bike, carberator bro! Nice job finishing!
Congratulations on the race, ProHo.
Good job!
I currently have the exact same blistering pattern on my hands, and that was from the 65 miler Iron Man. Great work finishing the Desert 100!
So awesome! Lone wolf shows up and throws down 🐺 💪
Cody how fun I’m 66 years old and haven’t been really riding like what you just did for over 20 years. If I thought my wife or my body would let me I would go in a heart beat ❤ from phoenix
i'm digging it !! Raced a YZ 250 hare scrambles in the SE ! The desert is so cool or hot !
Wow good job sir
No front brake after the impact?!... You did it on Hard Mode!
I love getting out on the moto, though. Hoping we have more good days for it here in W. WA, but did get out a bit a couple weeks ago, which was sweet; crossed 20k miles on the odometer (bought with 19k).
In 1997 my pro circuit built & geared for speed KX250 had a top speed of 90. Scott Summers passed me on his XR 600 like I was standing still😂 it was held in Mattawa back then. Fun race 😎 great job on the finish Proho👍🏻
I've done a poker run out here in California and I know the absolute fun and misery you went through!!! Love this content! Takes cajones to finish a race like that, bet you were on cloud 9!!
Nice rig, good luck
Liked this video
Holy smokes I need to get in shape your a great example to us all may God Bless You abs You’re family.
I've been to Odessa 3 times with my best friend. We did the iron man dual sport run, its twenty-five miles on the trail and twenty-five on surrounding roads - navigating. The dual sporters are treated to a beer tent with bratwurst at the end of the route. What I remember about Odessa is the dust, sore legs, jagged rocks, and chaos with other riders on the trail. But we had a fun time camping over the weekend, it's an experience. As a note - Unfortunately, I live on the left coast of WA.
Cool vid
Just did about 100 miles on pave today and that made me sore lol congrats brother! Sweet bike too!
Great race! loved the part where that guy did that thing, then you stopped, and we saw all of it!
Cool 👍
Nice! You placed 444th and had a time of 5:59. Great job!
I was there racing too and I did the Iron Man the day before. I only did the 50 mi because of my class, plus I didn't want to do the hundred. I finished at 2 hours 56 minutes.
Bike looks very nice! Before the race anyway
Well done finishing.
Hard rides are usually the most rewarding and memorable. I have had a handful myself.
Your chain looked really loose after your race. I’m sure you will check that out when going through the bike 👊🏼
@wranglerstar What are those cool brown tinted sunglasses?! I want some! Looking forward to seeing more of your cabin build videos!
Good Luck today! Be smooth, carry momentum intonand through the turns, brake as late as possible into turns smooth throttle control and keep head and torso centered to the handlebars. Elbows up!
Good job Cody, yeah I think you should put a ProHo fold down bed in your trailer for next time. Thanks for the video.
I like the rugged hair piece Kody.
I'm in Cda, and there are alot of desert riders there where 1000 riders used to race it, and I'd get passed all the time,BUT... when they get to the technical spots.... you pass them by the hundreds! My first year I wrecked hard, second one I took 89th, and the third year was 18th!! But it rained that week and those desert guys are not used to it, the 4th was another wreck! 😂. That's a fun race! I also wore a kidney belt after the first race.... using the restroom didn't look right! Lol. I remember seeing some MAJOR CARNAGE after the hole shot! 😮
I’m raising a family, building a house, and working a full time job that keeps me busy 5-7 days a week, but when I get my feet under me and feel like I can afford it, I’m getting a dirt bike. I had one as a teenager and I loved it, but I’m 32 now and I could use some fun like that in my life.
Your bike has a combat beauty scar 👍
No GO PRO video ? That would had been awesome!
Outstanding job! Fun times and learning lessons when riding in these races.
The new forks look great on the husky Cody! What's the next race you will be in? You should come and do the finke desert race in Australia, it's 145mile 2 days in a row.
Woah this was awesome. I loved seeing how beat up your bike and you were. Thats an insane race. I’d love to see footage of you riding though and going down, all the best and worst parts. Would be cool if you were a go pro next time. Really cool video nonetheless the less
Please consider taking us along next time. I'd like to see these races from a person of my generation. Thanks.
Ok will do
Man i was really hoping to see race content
How?
@@wranglerstar what do you mean how? I wanted to see you riding in the race like a helmet can or I seen people use a 360 degree camera when I seen you pulling up with all them other people I thought it was gonna get crazy I definitely got excited... I figured the camera would be dirty fast and may not have the best footage but I'd have been okay with it
I'm surprised too. Cody normally films everything.
I thought the same thing at first then i realized he did this race for him not us
Respect.
Man I wish I would have known you were out there!! I had a blast as well. Congrats! 5 hours 2 mins for me 😅
Congrats on finishing, I didn’t realize it was so early in the year.
Not a fan of Mousse for pure off rd events like this?
No Way........... been going to the event for many years, hope you had a blast 2015 KTM 200 XCW. See ya next year!!
You must be in phenomenal shape to drive home that far afterwards! I barely make it on a 3 hour drive after my 2 hour harescrambles.
Great video! Also did the d100 last weekend. Yes pretty brutal and i also laid the bike down a few times. Just a question, How do you like that Rekluse clutch?
Wish I would have known you were there ! our crew made the podium a few times
I knew I seen you drive by!
It’s nice to hear a 2 stroke being a refugee from people’s republic of California they were red stickering most two strokes and no one was riding them like they used to
If wranglerstar has taught me one thing. It’s if they sell it. You should buy it. Leave no stone unturned. Just get absolutely everything.
Hi Cody. Do a road trip video to events aswell. Im sure most of us like that kind of content as well. Going to and from events like these and thunder ranch
I grew up close to there. I remember seeing a bunch of guys jumping the highway. They did not check for traffic. Eventually the organizers were required to change the course.
Good ole denim Dan!!!
2-stroke for life!
